Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 10) (Top voted first)

I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?

I was told again by the pharmacist yesterday when I filled my script that TEVA is having manufacturing issue. I had first gone to cvs And they told me all they had was the Mylan brand which I have never even seen before. Not wanting to take the risk of them sucking like their generic version of Valium does I went to a small pharmacy that had sandoz back in stock.

Hi there, the Teva name brand is significantly different than the Teva generic. I had side effects from Teva generic; and oddly enough, the only generic I did not have side effects from was Barr; however they are owned by Teva. Supposedly, Barr generic has the same ingredient as Teva generic...NOT! That Teva generic did a number on me. I even started to get fast, uncontrollable twitches on my right thumb. I reported them to the FDA. I received a call from Teva, twice, to call them. I did and left a message. Still waiting for their call from ten days ago. It's all a veil of illusion that they will get right on it. I like my Vyvanse for now. On another note, everyone should read Brave New World. It's a difficult read but it's interesting how in the 1930's this author, Huxley, wrote about a society given meds to calm their emotions. At times I think we have a new world order government think tank, like rand corporation, that read all these dystopian society novels and systematically have created this world as rendered by these novels. I'll probably have the CIA, NSA, and all the government acronyms spying on me. This society is controlled by consumer goods, The food industry, I-phones, real estate, the standardized testing companies, and of course, big pharma. You can't even attain accurate information from medical journals because pharma companies pay the authors to write favorable pages. We live in a real web of lies.

Hi Eveyone, another ADD person who filled a prescription for generic Adderall this week which does not work. This was for the 20mg pill. Filled at Walgreens, Teva product....has always worked for me up until this year. I made my 3rd complaint to the FDA last night. This is a very unsure time for pharmaceuticals in the USA...scary!..I can feel the slip...cannot focus, can't stay on track, difficult to complete any tasks...People suffer, families fall apart, shame on Teva and shame on the FDA...people reading this should google Teva/FDA/Wellbutrin. I have had 3 bad/ineffective prescriptions since March 2016 :(

I have felt insane these last two months. I've lost my job over this whole formula switch in these Teva football POS pills! I was SO off my game as a bookkeeper that they let me go because i couldn't keep up. I spoke to walgreens and they treated me like I was crazy or like i was an addict. I brought it up to my doctor who has prescribed adderrall to me for 10 years and she treated me as if i just asked her to write me a pain pill script or something. For christs sake i was going to her for help because something has felt off the last few refills; like i wasn't on medication at all. her answer was that if i would just purchase the name brand product then i wouldn't have these problems. This problem is real! and it's obviously serious enough that it can affect a persons income and their personal relationships or even just how they function each day.

The pharmacist at Walgreens ordered it, and actually got it in!! I'm talking about the old Barr(brown and clear capsule, 15mg, white beads).
She said to just let her know and she would do it for me each month, praise God!!!
I have narcolepsy and don't know what I would do.
Interesting and ridiculous side note. The Actavis brand generic distributed by Mayne was $425 without insurance.
The Barr(Teva) bran generic is, as of yesterday, $725.
There's obviously a big difference with these drugs!

Your response was very astute for the most part, and in a perfect world all of our doctors would listen to and value our input, however, many do not and especially regarding a med that has such potential for abuse. Adjust your own dosage and begin coming up short or asking for changes in strength and you will often be met with strong resistance, or suspicion at the least, even when calmly and rationally and factually presented. I agree that we should all strive to have a relationship with our doctors that allows us to be as involved in our own care as we wish to be.
On the issue of adjusting the dosage, and getting good results from all of the generics, I would have to guess that you have been fortunate enough thus far to have not gotten the junk that many of us have....
Because 2 or 3 of nothing is still NOTHING.
I knew something was wrong, and I called Walgreens right away. They claimed that there had been no changes AT ALL. Well I know that is not true, and the really infuriating thing is that THEY KNOW that's not true.

Seems to me that any time a change in brand is made we should be notified, one would think. Apparently not the case though. And if you leave the counter, but not the store, and discover the change, too bad. No returns allowed. I will be contacting corporate regarding the non reporting of change of brand though. The no refund policy is reasonable, albeit annoying, it is for everyone's protection. While the lack of notification of Chang is definitely NOT for our protection.

I will definitely be looking in to getting 4 or 5 prescriptions for small quantities and trying other brands, because the Teva 20 mg IR is definitely not effective. I can not understand why there is such a problem with the regulation of quality in medication, and I think that we all really need to speak up about it.

Folks, COMPLAIN TO THE AUTHORITIES, or nothing will change. See the links on page 6 I believe it is, and follow up your discoveries with some action.

Teva sucks and every pharmacy where I live only use that manufacturer. I'm so upset and wasted my money. I got another presc. But don want to refill it with teva.

I have had the same problem with Adderall 30mg tablets.
Something was making me so tired that I couldn't even function or drive drive.
This was a new Adderall pill I was taking, which I usually take after breakfast.
This morning I woke up after a good night's sleep and took the pill right away.
Within an hour I was so tired I went back to bed for a few hours.
When I got up I was light headed and dizzy.
I had things I needed to do but could not drive.
I researched it and these pills are
made in India.
There have been a lot of complaints against the Teva
Manufacturers who make this.
I'm taking them back to Walgreens along with all the information I have and insist
They give me a prescription from a different Manufacture.

I began on the TEVA brand and it worked for me for awhile and then all of sudden it did not seem the same, however then I was given Mylan generic, which didnt help at all, and then due to no insurance and trying to find cheapest route, I am now on Aurobindo generic and it is putting me to sleep. It is undoubtedly the worst generic Adderall that I have been on and it is so upsetting to say the least. I am back to getting nothing done, I have headaches that I did not have on TEVA and I am so damn lethargic it isnt funny.. I just cannot believe that there is anything in these meds and I cannot afford them as it is. They already have a problem with people abusing Adderall and I have to wonder if they are changing what is in these generic meds on purpose. It is such a let down for me that I was finally getting my life in order and now I am back to the same old person that I used to be that was behind in everything and would not stay focused to get anything completed. I am not focusing on important things that need to be done and I am getting depressed. I dont think they should be allowed to keep switching brands that you take...I am not a lab rat! If we were able to afford the name brand Adderall - it would be the SAME every time we got it filled - therefore they should not be allowed to do this. What works for one may not work for another, but to be on something that worked for me and to have no control over what they are giving me now is just wrong. They are not all the same. I long to feel what I felt when I was first prescribed this miracle drug for my ADHD and it wasnt a high - I never really felt high. I think the person with ADHD gets high on the fact that they are finally completing things like normal people do and that is a high in itself, because for years that wasnt the case. This Aurobindo crap is doing nothing for me...I dont know what to do..... :(

Hello Scattered: I do the same thing - always have! I have ADHD and I am exactly the same way.. My friends get annoyed at times and some laugh and make fun of my extremely long texts that I cannot help but write.. I always have to go into detail to explain myself. I don't mean to, but I cannot help it. I have always been this way on or off Adderall...I - too - have been on Generic Adderall for quite some time now. It has helped me immensely to finally focus and get things done that I have left fall by he wayside for YEARS, HOWEVER, I was taking the same generic the whole time and in the last 4 or so months it has been changed twice and it is not working the same for me. I was finally getting things done in my life and focusing until my tasks were completed. I now feel as if I am only taking a placebo and it is beyond upsetting. Im back to the same old person who lacks the focus or initiative to work on what needs done. The adderall was short of a miracle for me. It didnt fix everything, as no med does, but it did help to get me over that hump and the term that you used "kick in the pants" I don't feel is an addictive phrase at all! As a person with ADHD that is what these meds are supposed to do - "in a way"...It depends on how you want to look at it... Maybe you could use other words to describe it, but whatever the effect is - it is CHANGE - it is FOCUS - it is finally being able to do what most regular folks are able to do normally to which I cannot. I don't care how it is described - I understood it completely. My best friend is a pharmacist and I know all of the generics have to be and are supposed to be equal, but they don't all contain the same ingredients... I have had headaches since being on this Aurobindo brand and I have no recourse to get what I need. I am recently divorced and have no health insurance and these pills are very unaffordable for me, which atleast would be worth the money IF THEY WORKED and what I have been getting are not working like they did in the past. As I had stated in another post today, if we were able to afford the brand name Adderall - it would be the SAME every time and that is what should be the case if you are on a generic med that works for you - it should not keep getting changed due to the pharmacy's cost and I know from my friend that they keep changing if the price is better and the pharmacist at the big retail chains have no recourse to change it. I hope things get better for you.. (And me...)

maybe your pharmacy carries the old version still. My older Teva batches worked great! It is just now they have become horrible. Super weak and it’s extremely annoying.

I have taken Teva IR Adderall for six years. At one time, It was regarded, all over the internet, as the best generic IR available for Adderall. This was between 2008-2014.

I tried Corepharma back in 2012, and it was ---profoundly-- less potent than Teva.

About that same year, they received a Warning Letter from the FDA after an inspection.

The letter cited sub-par quality control in their manufacturing.

It seems, after that, I began reading reviews (for the first time) that were very favorable to Corepharma

Now (and I mean very recently - last 2-4mo, Teva seems untenably weak.

This last refill, I experienced symptoms I have never experienced: severe irritability and depression

Something is very wrong with their product, and the dilemma is:

I have yet to find ----any other generic alternative---- in which people have responded positively.

It is my understanding that Teva's D-Amphetamine Salt Combo (Adderall) is manufactured by Barr Laboratories.

Even though Teva bought them out, they are a subsidiary, and based on some research I found on fda.gov searching for new ANDA applications, I found a letter from the FDA to Barr approving a formula change.

Barr manufactures the product, Teva distributes it....

While I did notice a decrease in potency in the product between March - Aug of this year, my most recent refills seem more potent/efficacious now.

Mine doesn't work either. It happened suddenly -- the most recent bottle manufactured by Teva. I have absolutely no concentration ability and I feel like it might be causing depression. I asked the pharmacist (Walgreens) if there had been any complaints. Answer was "no." I filed a complaint with the FDA. Not sure that will do anything. I cannot believe I paid $$$ for sugar pills. Now I need to see my psychiatrist early. More $$.

30 minutes after I reported the issues I had, they replied & said it usually takes 2-3 consumer reports before they open a case. Perhaps you can be the 2nd report.

I’m in Los Angeles, BTW. Curious where you are? I wonder if ‘similar region’ Walgreens get their shipments from the same place.

I am having the exact same issue. In fact, due to a past experience with a well known pharmacy I keep and document everything. Here's my findings so far, and suddenly my psychologist isn't being as responsive as usual and I self pay The Teva/Barr 20 mg IR peach oval shaped are imprinted with b 973 2 0, and they are pathetic. I find myself falling asleep driving to and from work, at work, and they have zero effectiveness except for an onset of depression and extreme fatigue and the desire to do nothing.
After putting some thought into this, I checked out my previous bottles and I've been getting the IR 20 mg light orange round ones with the imprint U30. I took one this am I happened to find laying in my dresser and got a better response. However over the last three months, all from CVS, have seemed to have gone downhill and I've been on the same script for nearly 9 years.I know my body and my mind, and this stuff is getting less effective and no, it isn't called tolerance.....

Thank you!!! I have felt terrible for the past two months, and I absolutely believe it is the Teva 20mg bid. I swear to you, I was about to make an apot with an Oncologist, because I thought my cancer was back! So tired, regardless of how must sleep I get. I have been busy with a new puppy, and missed my morning dose a couple of times. I felt so much better without it, and thought, "Wow, I feel normal again." Then took the dose after discovering that I hadn't, and within an hour I started going downhill. Just went to 3 pharmacies - the first two only have Teva - Safeway had Auro. I have read good and bad things about them, more good recently, so we shall see. FWIW - I was NOT the first person to complain to my pharmacist about Teva.

Terrible bloating and in general feeling badly after taking Teva generic peach oval 20 mgs tablets. It is very helpful to hear others experiences to identify the source. It is kind of scary how much different generics can vary.
