Adderall Backorder (Page 78)

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

Cvs said they are on backorder with my 10mg generic Adderall. Then I switched to Costco hoping for a better result, but they also said it's on backorder and they don't know when they'll get some.

Sorry to say, if you do a Google search "Adderall Shortage", just in the last 12 hours there are literally countless publications reporting what we've been experiencing for months.

This is BFD. IT'S truly unimaginable that the reasons they're giving are legitimate. Pharmaceutical Wholesalers and manufacturers know all about "logistics" and EXACTLY what the demand/supply gap has been, is, will be. The fact that the media has to write about this is an indication that MANY corporate executives and government bureaucrats saw this happening months ago, And didn't give a s***.

This shortage is for real and I don't think most places will have any Adderall until January 2023! Literally nobody had any today! Plus I'm tired of having to go to 4 or 5 places every month to fill my script so I went to my Doctor today and asked her to write me Ritalin, and she did with no problem. I didn't have any issues filling the Ritalin, the first pharmacy I went to had it. So far so good, it's very similar. The only difference is that it doesn't remain in your system for as long as Addy, but that's not a problem for me bcuz I like to sleep at night lol. Good Luck y'all, I know it sucks but fortunately there are other options, at least until things are back to normal.

Yup, SF is dry as a bone! I broke down and went to my doctor and asked if she could write me Ritalin instead, she did with no problem. I went to the first pharmacy and had it filled. I may stay on this, we'll see but so far so good. Good Luck ??

I was able to find it this month thankfully! CVS around my area seems to be keeping Sandoz in-stock for now.

I have never tried Ritalin. Do you notice any benefits or differences over the Adderall? I've just been on Adderall for decades, and it works. I haven't tried anything else, but I might have to be willing.

Ritalin is not exactly the same but it's better than nothing I guess. It's half-life is about half of Adderall but it starts working much quicker. It last for about 4 or 5 hours and then there's a little bit of a crash unless you take more. It feels about the same as Addy, maybe even a bit stronger, but I probably just gotta get used to it. It's too early to give a true comparison. I'll let you know in a few days. Like I said, it's definitely better than nothing but so far I'm thinking that I'll probably go back to Addy once (or if) everything is back to normal.

Personally, I think the increase in prescriptions due to Telemed is a large factor. Combine that with it being close to the end of the year. A manufacturer can request more active ingredient for a Schedule II drug but it takes time. Labor shortages probably pays a small roll.

I still can't fill my prescription. First off I am stuck with Costco because my doctor doesn't want me switching pharmacies over and over. Last time I spoke to Costco they keep saying it's on backorder.

Well prepare yourself for what could be a much longer wait. I’m in south Florida and Walgreens has had my prescription now for going on just over 2 months (9 weeks ). It’s honestly hard to fathom this could happen

I'm not a doctor. For those who are without medication or trying to extend their remaining meds, have you looked into Tyrosine supplements? Google it. I don't stand behind any of this info but it's out there.

YES! I take it for narcolepsy as well and at this point I'm not sure what to do. The pharmacy tells me to call my Doctor which makes no sense at all to me. If you find a resolution I'd love to know.
