Adderall Backorder (Page 47) (Top voted first)

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

My Walgreens is out of adderall I had to get script sent to Kroger then the brand was camber pharmaceuticals it isn’t a good generic brand.

It is in Fort Pierce. I hope they can get it again but I have to transfer all of my prescriptions there Actually the 20mg IR by Teva is not working as well as the 30mg I had from Walgreens the month before.

What is going on where they’re suddenly so ineffective? I would think this could be dangerous. ADHD people are pretty forgetful, wouldn’t there be sort of a problem with people forgetting they took their meds due to them not working and then accidentally taking too much? Or people taking more than their dosage out of desperation?

I wonder if Teva is intentionally changing the ingredients in only it’s controlled substances because the people who take them are not likely to be taken seriously by anyone. I would think if other medications started losing their efficacy, someone would’ve figured it out and investigated it by now.

I was able to get TEVA brand last month and today at my local CVS. They've also had Sandoz brand in stock as well. I'm sorry that some of you haven't been able to get anything. That truly sucks! BTW, I'm from Pittsburgh, PA

I’m in Los Angeles - still no luck finding any. Called the Walgreens I gave my prescription with and they can’t even tell me when they might have it. It’s so weird that the manufacturer is refusing to tell the pharmacies when they can deliver? Isn’t that weird?

Manufacturers don't work with pharmacies. 3 main USA wholesalers/suppliers deliver meds to pharmacies. And yes... It's weird and negligent and suspicious.

I take generic adderall xr 20mg caps 2 in am and 2 mid day for rare sleep disorder idiopathic hypersomnia and also Narcolepsy. Unable to get out of bed and function without it. Can't get my script filled either. I just sleep 99% of day no other choice.

My pharmacist told me that Teva, who is the largest manufacturer and distributor of generic and brand name Adderall.

Apparently there was a plant that had distribution problems. Concurrently, Adderall becomes more and demand as school starts.

I went to the Teva page, end it states they should have more available to send your pharmacies by the end of the month.

Amneal pharmaceuticals as well as Sandoz are apparently increasing volume to compensate.

Is anyone experiencing non availability by their pharmacy? I take 30mg x2 daily and was told by Publix it was on back order with no date for availability? I need this medication to function for my work, and need my job!

And the demand has increased 20% per year. Which imo begs some type of investigation by journalists and public advocacy organizations. If so many people feel a substantial variation in efficacy among manufacturers, and the FDA essentially operates on an honor System (based on arguably lousy assumption that Pharma will put public welfare over profits). Anecdotal evidence is variability in efficacy; substantial and factual body of evidence of big playing by their own rules (Purdue, Mallinckrodt, Teva. Mylan, Aurobindo, JNJ have paid out billions in class action suits and settlements).

This Adderall shortage seems like low hanging fruit but still nothing from the FDA and journalists just parrot the press releases... I'm not proposing any conspiracy theories. Rather, just do the math and listen to the anecdotal evidence - it's a mess.

False. It’s the “potential” for abuse. And I’ll never agree that stimulants fall into the same category as opiates. Believe me, I KNOW.

I'm just outside of Grand Rapids. I'm not sure if it may be a manufacturer based location thing, but I am all good with Costco and using Goodrx. Also, I could use my insurance there if I chose. You don't even have to be a member. Try that if you so choose.

I've been on my Adderall approx. 9 years,,The good honest people with true medical conditions,, Suffer because of the people who make bad choices., Most insurance, Dr's, etc. police your medications. I'm okay with that, We should be in a different category. From the abusers.

Same here in Virginia Beach, I take 20mg 3 times a day. For the last 3 months I’ve had to call around to every pharmacy in the area and hope I find it. But I’m striking completely out today. No one has it and they all say it’s backordered

I called a pharmacy on Monday and I was told that they have them and that a new shipment was coming in Tuesday. I’ve had my Dr. Re-write my script 3x. I show up on Tuesday and I give my name. First the pharmacist has my name and info. I’ve never been to this pharmacy before. She asks if my script is for adderall and I said yea, then she tells me she doesn’t have my script - then how did she know my info and it was for adderall? She tells me to wait a minute and starts the whispering while staring at me. BS. She comes back to tell me that there’s none and the guy she was talking to is lighting uppp his keyboard. This guys fingers were clicking and smoking away. He comes up to me and says that he’s gonna go check the safe to see if there’s any. A minute later he comes back and says there’s none in the safe. I never knew that meds were kept in a safe for rainy days. So now I’m just waiting. My original pharmacy is currently “temporarily closed”, I just need my meds and I’m going on a week tryna hold it together.

I am going to try one more time with my new pharmacy next week to see if they can get Lannett. I called last week but the pharmacist I had spoken to had just left. Her husband(co-owner) just put me off with the same stuff others stores say. "We can only get what they send.". If I can't get Lannett, I will try for 30mg Teva, or just to keep my spot in line suffer through another month of 20 mg Teva.. I haven't set one foot outside my home since last weekend. About once a week, I am stimulated enough to go to grocery store. I save pills to take on that day.

Actually, I haven't heard many here mention issues with CVS. Most of the people saying they can't find it seem to be having issues with Walgreens specifically, at least from what I've been reading here.
