Adderall Backorder (Page 31) (Top voted first)

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

Hey KC I live in St. Cloud Fl. ..I have been trying to fill my Adderall 20mg script since January! !! I havr been to EVERY pharmacy from name brand to mom and pops in a 70 mile radius and have been unable to find it. You were lucky! I have also checked the fda site and its not listed...I filled out a drug shortage form while on the site though. I just had to have my daughter's pediatrician change hers to Vyvanse bc of this (huge price difference! ) I see my doctor tomorrow and may have to change also...I'm a nurse and its hard enough with day to day activities without having to actually use my brain when at work and not on my medications! People should never have to be without medications..no matter what it is! Good luck to everyone.

So aggravated! Thankfully I saved a weeks worth from my last RX because I prepared for this, although I hoped I would not have to. It sounds like this issue isn't going away anytime soon though and that is really an issue with me, because no one should have to be without their prescribed medications all because of some strange shortage. Hey St Cloud! Sorry I didn't catch your name before writing this. I was on Vyvanse before Adderall, and it didn't do anything for me, so I hope it works for your daughter! :) I guess I was lucky to find them at Walmart last month, it seems like they are the only place anyone has luck...Good luck peeps, I am going to try again in a few days and will update then. :)

"NOPE"! ~ ~ KC, it is NOT in your mind! lol. i've experienced the same effects! =) some dr.s agree it's true cuz of the diff ingredients an some dr.s say it doesn't make a diff, the stUpid dr.s say tht! lol. but you're not the only one!!! ;)
. . . .also a bit of advice to you an everyone, 1rst of all, anyone try COSTCO?!? well, what "I" did, was find out in person from the pharmicist, what they DO HAVE in stock an get your script rewritten!!! then before your next appt. ask again to avoid having to get a rescript an tell your dr. what's going on.
. . . .i have actually gotten my last 2 scripts alot easier this way! some pharmacies DO have diff mg's but fail to volunteer that info!!!! the 20mg's are most written an that's what everyone is saying where the biggest shortage is. i read they use diff ingredients in diff mg's an 20's are the most in demand.

Same here. And this isn't the first time. But it is the first time the pharmacy is telling me more than a week to get my script in. I take it for narcolepsy too. Good to know I'm not the only one!

Hello again :-) I just filled and got a brand I never had before, in Generic Adderall, I have had it in generic pain meds.. But anyways, it is mallinckrodt brand.. It tastes soo bad, like a after taste of chemichals, does not seem to work , and makes me feel a bit strange... I have had Barr/Teva (same company now) and then I had the Corepharma and then a long time ago the original Adderall name brand, no longer made... But this is terrible, and now I am stuck with them until I go back to my DR. in a month... I changed to a 30 from 20 due to the 20mg shortage... I am soo ma that i need to take this garbage for 30 days, as I am sure there is nothing that can be done... Not like paying for a tool at home depot, you can bring it back if it does not work... It is sooooo crazy how each generic brand of Mixed amphetamine Salts differ... EVERY brand I have tried reacts different.... This one make me sick to my stomach, like it has large amounts of Lactose ( in milk) in it and makes me feel sick as I am lactose intolerant, but can have cheese and some dairy without issues. Not to keep going on and on, but there should be a way to have this issue resolved in a case like this... It is a pure fact it is not normal, it falls apart into crumbs when you try to snap it in half, And I cant find much info on the images online, it just says M with a square box on the back and 30 on the front and is in the shape of a octagon

You are certainly not the only one. This is crazy! I agree with Sharon, and thank you for the advice! I will get my Dr. to re-write it for a different strength and hopefully I will have luck. Still not listed on the FDA shortage list so I am not sure as to why this is still an issue and has been since the new year. I have had slight issues before, but only for a matter of a few days, never months! Sucks that we can't get our medication that we are prescribed and need. :(

I had to take 15 less from Walgreens in Orlando FL. I get the orange 20s that's the only ones I've had. Is there a better Brand from somewhere else I can try? Dont know much about these only been on for 5 months. I thought filling oxys back in the day was a pain. This sucks and I'm not about to drive all around Orlando. I hope they get this shortage over control soon ...

Hey Ross in Houston, it might be a drive but I got last month's RX of IR 20mgs filled at the Walgreens on N Gessner and Kempwood. After spending the day today all up and down the 290 corridor I gave them a call and they said they have it for this month as well. I have to stop by there tomorrow to pick it up.

yes! this has happened 3 times already. Idk what to do. I take the same thing. I have to get up super early everyday and work and I feel horrible. this only started this year. never had a problem b4

Hey all, I just refilled my 20mgs for 60 pills at the same Walgreens that I got them from last month. They seem to be back on track there, I am in the Altamonte Springs area. Good luck to everyone!!! :)

i just got my 1rst mail order from Costco pharmacy on line for "180" 25mgs. AND wOw! got it "5 days earrrrly"! lol =D .....TRY THEM!....! :-D

Wow, you are lucky my friend. I've called all the major pharmacies (cvs, vons, riteaid, wallgreens, ect) and I cannot find 20mg ritalin pills. This is not good. :(....

I was getting the genetic and it doesn't work like the brand. The brand is a lot more expressive so I am back on the brand. I I live in jacksonville and Need a refill I have call at least 6 walmarts, 1 target and costco's they all say they don't have any in stock. It's crazy. This happened to me back in March 2014.

I have this problem every year. I believe why they are on backorder is because the FDA or the DEA limits the amount of raw ingredients used to make the adderall. Try to get your physician to write you another script for something else that is similar.

I live in Broward County Florida and just went to FOUR pharmacies today all said that they are out and are not able to get Adderall 30mgs (or the generic). I have a friend who is a pharmacist who says that they pick and choose who they give the Adderall rx to and who to tell that they are out (I happened to remember at 4:00 today that my rx has one pill left so I pulled back my hair and put a baseball cap on and rushed out of the house...by my usual standards I looked a mess) I thought that this might be why I was being told that they were out of Adderall and the generic? Am I the only one who is actually able to nap on Adderall? I also find myself picking fights (more when I feel bored) with my significant other...I truly feel like Adderall has saved my marriage and more importantly my sanity.

I have been told a few times (by pharmacists) that they will hold on to adderall for their regulars.

Im in St. Lucie County, Florida just moved here from Martin. NO pharmacy in st lucie would fill my script I think because my doctor is from palm beach county, florida but in martin county I never had a problem at Winndixi. so I have to take the 25 minute drive to go there so they will order it for me. no other pharmacy will touch my script. for years never had a problem I don't understand why there is such fuss over it now
