Adderall Backorder (Page 14) (Top voted first)

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

Thank you Sharon! :) I tried Costco yesterday, they were out until "maybe next week." Though Publix did say they just did not have the 20 mg in stock..so...yeah, my Dr will re-write it for another MG...but it still is not going to be a gurantee that we find that one. SO ANNOYED! I really appreciate your response! I tried Publix, Walmart, and then Costco..I will try some private pharmacies on Monday because this is out of control. I will update as I find out more! :) Good luck everyone!!

Shortage here in metro Houston. One walgreens in Baytown, Tx told me three months. I have another small pharmacy I'm going to try tomorrow.

Every month since Christmas I've dealt with this. Sick of it.

Angie, you got lucky even with that! Right when this first became a problem, Yep Ross, around Christmas, I had to take over HALF less of my 60. NO BUENO!! :( Angie, what part of Orlando are you in? I am in Altamonte and have tried Costco, Publix, and Wal-Mart with nada, I would take half my script at this point. This is so annoying! These drug companies need to get it together!

I'm in apopka now but have always lived off Red Bug Lake Rd I just go to 1 or 2 different Walgreens in APopka.. I won't drive around. Don't have time or energy for it. I think I've established a pretty good relationship with my pharmacist so they usually will always fill it for me if they have it.

GOOD NEWS! *Update* I think the shortage is coming to an end, finally! :) I was able to fill my entire RX at the Walgreens in Altamonte Springs! I almost fell over when the Pharmacist told me "yes, I have them." I was equally surprised to find out that they were the ones I am used to getting, the generic orange ones! FINALLY! I had the white octagon ones from Wal-Mart last month, they had a square with an m in the middle on one side, and they SUCKED. They did not work, well, maybe for the first 10-20 mins, then stopped and I was yawning and cranky!!! So I would say, try the big pharmacies now peeps, because they seem to be getting back on track. Don't bother calling first though because that law has not changed. Good luck everyone!!! :)

I live in the huge city of Los Angeles and none of the major pharmacies have Adderall 10mg, Adderall XR 10mg, or Adderall XR 5mg in Brand or Generic. I had to call a compounding pharmacy and have them order it for me. You would that being in a huge city would mean I could get it without jumping through hoops or having to wait a week, but that is not the case.

I discovered last month that I could get my Adderall legitimately refilled through the mail...I have UnitedHealth Care and they use OptumRX to handle pharmacy claims and such, but I just mail in my Rx, with tracking and delivery confirmation of course, and it is processed in about 2 days. I got it within 5 days of sending it in. Copay is still only $5, but it is such a great relief not to have to play musical pharmacies.

I haven't tried the home delivery I don't really no how to go about it to be honest lol I go to a walgreens and the pharmacist told me he will make sure he fills my script every month. there was another pharmacist there last month that gave me a hard time but other then that its been okay

Yes, i take 30mg and have went to every store within a 5 mile radius. I do not understand. I am treated like a criminal when they look at my script.

Ok thanks for the info, all filled out, surprised they dont ask for a copy of an i.d. Went to post office for priority mail but monday is a HOLIDAY, bummer!!!

Well an update....my rx showed it DELIVERED on Thurs am, a little later at 2 pm i recvd a vmail from Costco and called back exactly 1 hr later when i left work to be told that my order was cancelled, why i ask, your SavRx insur info is a disc card and we dont accept disc cards, hmmm, i tell him it IS NOT a disc card but my Rx INSURANCE COVG and he argues with me, i tell him its an opyuon on their dropdwn menu for insur, he says its not while im staring at it. I finally get him to realize its insurance and then he says " well your Rx was just mailed back to you", they had it for 3 hrs then call me and w/in an hour mailed it back. They didnt even give me an hour to call and remedy the situation, this is insane, he finally xfers me to a Pharmcst and had to convince her my SavRx was insur too, i give her all my info and she says she can call and verify then i could mail the Rx back when i get it and she could then fill it, i agreed to this so she takes my # and says she will call back in a bit. 30 mins later she calls and says shes sorry and that i do have insur BUT my insur has their own mail Pharm and they wont pay for Costco. At this point ive pulled all but 1 hair from my head, soo i call SavRx & explain then ask for instr to mail them for filling and she says they wont fill Sched II over the mail & to bring it to a local pharm. Hmmm like i havent tried that already, sooooo at this point i either change meds or look for indiv Rx insur that Costco accepts and send it back to them which will be at least 2 wks before i would get my meds.....i am soo beat down over all of this that i now need a friggin xanax script to relax, jk, but this is seriously the most aggravating thing in all my life, completely at my wits end at this point!!!!!!

omg! i am sooo sorry for you! that really sux! were you ever able to fill it at a Costco warehouse??? that ins. co. sux man!!!
to bad it's so expensive or ya could just screw the ins. co. n pay outta pocket!

She said they would not fill it unless i had ins coverage, she would NOT let me pay in cash once my insurance denied payment due to my insur having their own mail service.

Costco online told u they cant fill it cuz u have ur own mail in service??? that just doesnt sound right. they fill general public weather or not they use $$ or their ins. and i have even used them "without" using my ins.

Samsun ~ just spoke to Costco rep online an he said if ur insr co. allowed auth then you can use them but no cash online due to the fact that they cant track weather someone goes to other places to get more when paying cash (it's the insr co. that truly tracks going to more than 1 place so they just did away with it for online meds), told'm i was askin for a friend an he was very apologetic. now, Costco locations will take cash if u can find 1 that has it, ask if THEY can obtain from online program for you! otherwise he says to call ur insr or ur online delivery program again, they "SHOULD HAVE IT" cuz they all buy in bulk (that's why i never have a problem). tell them if they can not get it then u want auth to go to Costco! you need ur meds! he said to demand it! lol gosh i really hope this helps ya! ??

Having same problem with filling my 30mg generic Adderall Rx as of this week in Palm Beach County, FL. No problem for past six months, then cannot find it anywhere although the itis not listed on the FDA's latest drugshortage list.

I have no idea how many Americans are suffering from the fact that they cannot obtain an Adderal pill that they can be sure contains the correct dosage and ingredients the script calls for. Apparently no one at the upper levels of the FDA is capable of abiding by their sworn duties to protect the health of the American people. The number of suffering folks might be in the millions. If a majority of Americans would write their Congressman or Senator with a plea to address this terrible situation. They could solve the problem. This country has many problems. If the government appointed an Adderall task force, a great many people, Including many children could enjoy a better life. THAT IS WHAT AMERICA IS ALL ABOUT

Yes, I am also having this problem. I take 40 mg of the XR daily, today is the second day without. I do have about 30 10 mg pills but that won't last long at all. I don't understand the shortage. If pharma companies are trying to get the ADD patients using a new drug that's one thing. When they mess with the daily lives of of those of us who need this to stay awake to work, that's messed up. I would like to know how long they expect this to last? I've never not had my meds so I'm not sure if I'll have any type of withdrawal or not...
