Actavis Clonazepam Vs Other Generics
UpdatedMy 89 year old Mom has been on Clonazepam for years for sleep. The Actavis seems to work better for her than even the brand name Klonopin. She has had great difficulty finding another comparable version ever since Teva bought Actavis. She has tried several other generics as well without success. Thank you.

I'm stuck to. I'm in withdrawal I had the pink one for 5 years, now, I can't focus, feel dizzy, off on general. Don't have a clue what to do.
Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to differ from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20% in the amount of the active ingredients. The problem, however, is that they don't have to measure against each other, which means one generic could be higher, or lower than another, and it could even contain more of the active ingredient than the name brand does. Thus, one might work better than another for some people that take them.
K, what are the markings on the ones you were taking?
The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and irritability.
Re: K (# 1)
Hi, my pharmacy carried the Actavis brand of 0.5 mg Clonazepam for 6 years, and a year ago switched to the Sandoz brand, and just this past Saturday; my refill was filled with the Actavis again. They are kicking my butt. Every time I take one, they take effect very quickly and are working well, they are much stronger than the Sandoz ones. I'm very happy to have them back again. I use a small locally owned Mom and Pop pharmacy, they are wonderful. You might want to try to find an independently owned Mom and Pop shop, they might be much more willing to work with you and might order in the pink Actavis Clonazepam for you. You could also ask your doctor to write only Actavis brand on your script. Good luck and I hope you feel better.
I to am suffering from being off my pink actavis Clonazepam R 33 round Pink. I can not tolerate anything else but actavis Clonazepam pink. Does anyone know where I can get them or when they are coming back?
Is Actavis brand, white 2mg klonopin, marked R35....being discontinued? If so, why? This was told to me by my pharmacist. They work better than any other brand. I also know of many other people who agree with me.

Re: K (# 1)
I’ve had the same problem. I am on 1 mg three times a day of Klonopin. About six months ago they started giving me blue tablets versus the yellow that I used to get. I didn’t feel the same and the anxiety started to take up and so did the feeling that I was going to have a seizure. I have both epilepsy, anticipatory and generalized anxiety disorder and Meniere’s disease which is a vertigo disorder. But I have labs done every other month. I have a cheek swab, a urine sample and lately I’ve been asking for back up blood work. It is not showing up in my labs. It hasn’t shown up in my labs for six months. Ever since I went or Switch to the blue ones. I talk to different pharmacies because they will not tell you what brand they carry by New York State law. So you have to actually bring in the prescription bottle. They told me there is no difference in generics and I must not be taking them or possibly selling them. I’m like, WTF. I’m like, I have epilepsy I need to take these. And I do not miss a dose. I mean I have missed a couple of doses but those have been by accident. But generally I never miss a single dose because I don’t want to have another tonic clinic seizure w/ cardiac arrest and not be able to drive. Or worse, die. I spoke with my provider and they switched me to the orally disintegrating tablets. Or ODT. These seem to help a little better. I will know in about two weeks for a show up in my labs or not. I am hoping they do. I do feel better but I do not feel as good as I did on The yellow generic tablets.
So please ask your doctor about switching you to the ODT until they get this figured out. Some doctors will believe you others will not. Same with Pharmacy’s. Thank God I use a family owned and private pharmacy and they actually believed me. It was the major chains like CVS and Wall greens and Rite Aid that did not. They told me that I was probably selling them or not taking them as directed. And in New York State you cannot call at the pharmacy and ask what brand they carry. That is illegal to do if it is a controlled substance. I have to actually bring the prescription into the pharmacist and show them that you take it before they will give you any information on which brand they carry. They will not tell you over the phone. I drove around for a week to different pharmacies and everyone carried the blue ones. Which are all made by Accord / Solco !
Let me know how you make out. I’m interested to find out what other people are doing so that that way they can be properly medicated and do not have huge medical setbacks. This is a necessary medication for many people. I do take of her seizure meds as well. But whenever they have taken me off the Klonopin, within six months of being off , I would have another big one. Or a big seizure I mean. So the Clonopin is necessary to my seizure protocol. The other seizure meds alone do not do the trick. I need to have the Clonopin along with them.
Please let me know how you make out. I would be interested to know. And I wish you the very very best.
Re: Rob (# 4)
My yellow ones. 1 mg, yellow also have the r marking with a double digit #. They are made by activis. And just so you know my sister got her script which she takes For severe anxiety. I take mine for epilepsy and Meniere’s disease.
She recently got the original Teva’s filled at CVS. But they are doing a solo of the original formula. I use a mom-and-pop pharmacy that I have been using since I first started having seizures because they deliver. So that way when I could not drive I could still get my medication. But when they switched me to the blue pills made by Soclo and LLC of Accord I tested negative For Quanah been for the past six months. I get tested every other month. My other meds were showing up but not that one. And I felt like garbage and I also had a breakthrough seizure. Thank God it was not a tonic clinic seizure. But your best bet is to work with a small family owned Pharmacy. One that knows you. One that knows why you take them etc. etc. My insurance was of no help in trying to get the actual dispense as written. They said that would cost me $289 a month. That’s a car payment..
Between my doctors appointments and other co-pays for other medications there is no way that I could afford that. So just keep trying and keep doing your research. If you need more information let me know. I do have every single one milligram Iclonazepam, What they look like, what the marking is, with the company that makes it is. With the color is. Some companies have some companies or LLC’s. So that’s why some different companies have the same markings. It’s simply because the parent company is the same. It all gets very confusing once you start researching it. I wish you the best of luck.
Actavis brand of generic lorazepan is made by watson. Walgreens carries actavis lorazepam by watson.
I haven't been able to get the green TEVA USA pills for at least six months. Today I get the TEVA manufacturer when I had a new prescription. I took them and they do nothing for me. What the heck. I was so mad when Actitvis was all that was available at my pharmacy. Is TEVA back making clonezapam???? I'd rather have Activist now. ??
Re: Mb (# 10)
I agree this Teva has been horrible!!! I am having terrible withdrawals! I want the Activas back. It took me a year to get used to it after they stopped making Mylan.
Re: Mb (# 10)
Actavis, and I believe Teva as well, was purchased by Valeant, the pharm company that increased the price of the Epipen by 400% as well as many others. Michael Pearson is the CEO, a mercenary con who only seeks to put money in the hands of it's shareholders. They were investigated by couldn't find criminal intent. There is a documentary on Netflix called "Dirty Money". It is unbelievable that after investigations by incredibly sharp people, they continue to be in business after cutting R & D to 3% while most companies put 18-20% toward R & D. They increased the price of every drug they marketed including drugs that are necessary for sustain lives of many.

So far it's still off the market. I can't take any other clonazapam except Actavis. Not sure what I can do. This is like Russion Roulette to TEVA. They are the ones that took over the Actavis Clonazapam and now took it off the Market. Their Clonazapam fillers are not the same. It has the total opposit affect on me. My heart feels like it's gonna jump out of my chest!!! They also use Povidone. An antiseptic for their binding process. Have you ever been told that anticeptics were ok to in jest? I was told the opposite! In fact you're not supposed to as it causes internal pain, irritation which I'm sure can cause Internal bleeding. Especially when having to take it every day!!! Not good...!!!
Re: Duran Duran 4 life (# 3)
I'm now, again, having a hard time getting the Actavis brand. TEVA has the Patent now. None of the other brands work. I get real bad adverse effects. If you're aware as to where it can still be purchased that'd be great!!!

Re: Sue (# 14)
Activas is made by Teva they are the same company. Last year they stopped manufacturing it and you were probably getting what was left in stock. Unfortunately the Teva generic and the Accord generics are the only ones I know of that are currently being manufactured. It's a shame as I to had to adjust to Activas from Mylan and had a hard time. Then as soon as I adjusted they switched it again. You would think since they are the same company both would have had the same effect as all the ingredients they list are the same. I'm so sorry there is nothing we can do.
Vecelia, I am having the same problem. Actavis worked. Accord was a nightmare- itching, breathing, and they crumble. Couldn’t get Klonopin as cost was prohibitive even with best Medicare plus supplement plus RX supplement coverage with Humana. Where did you get the Klonopin from?
Re: Austin77 (# 11)
I take three 2 mg. I just got the Teva brand and I might as well take bear aspirin, the 2mg didn't do s***.
