Accutane Serious Side Effects For Our Son
UpdatedOur son started taking Accutane the end of Dec, 2011. He was on it for 6 weeks. He ended up in Feb. in ER with a foot long blood clot in his groin down his leg. He had other symptoms prior to this as well. He had your normal side effects which we expected, like dry cracked lips, flushed face, more acne in first month, head itched. Then he had back pain, joint pain, (basketball player in his High school so was very active) Then he would at times feel faint when standing. He started getting really sick when his blood clot started hurting him. We didn't know what it was and went to the doc 2x for pain. This is listed as a rare serious side effect. Please be careful while taking accutane. We won't be touching it again at our house.

I am very sorry about what happened to your son, what a horrible experience.
Accutane is known to be a risky medication to take, I mean the side effect list seems to be endless, headache, dry skin, worsening acne, arthralgia, arthritis, abnormal menses, convulsions, depression, anxiety... and more.

I strongly urge anyone who has seen their doctor for an issue, but isn't getting a satisfactory answer from them, to consult a different doctor, or seek emergency medical attention if the condition is severe.
I am so very glad that your sign survived. How is he doing, now?
