Accord Clonazepam (Page 2) (Top voted first)
UpdatedThese are horrible, Accord Clonazepam. I'll be glad when I get my new script and can go back to TEVA.
Re: Mike (# 5)
I refused the Teva and asked the Pharmacist to get me the Accord. They said it was orange colored but to me it looks like pink. They did order it and I had it the next day. I'm on the 0.5 mg. I got it from Rite-Aid. And I'm back to sleeping and being much calmer.
Re: Mike (# 5)
Wal Mart pharmacy EXCLUSIVELY offers only the Accord brand; they used to be able to order any clonazepam generic (That's where I got my Qualitest clonazepam ordered after Target switched to CVS) but about six months ago they told me that they contracted solely with Accord (Exactly the way Walgreens contracted with Mylan..which still makes me laugh at its absurdity). Qualitest tho is truly, by far, the best generic. In the ten years I have been on this medicine- not even the Roche brand name Klonopin comes close to its efficacy.
Barbie and Lazaro thank you very much for your responses.
I hate when the pharmacy switches brands on me , especially to a brand I never heard of! I don't know what to expect. No one mentioned using Sandoz clonazepam? New brand is Accord. Will let you know.
Re: Jeans (# 19)
Accord is tricky. You can have withdrawal symptoms if you cut the dose to fast. At this point, even one/fourth of a 1 mg is too strong. I take a chunk smaller than that more than once a day. You can't try to be alert and skip a daytime dose or you will have issues at night. I'm just a consumer; not a medical person. This has been over a month of taking. The less the better but you have to decide when to take the daytime ones and the night one and decide what is too little or too much. I hate the dopey feeling. I can't get much done at all. I think it also depends on a person's size and what they take it for. I call Mylan customer service to keep ckg on the status of that. As bad as Accord is, I do not want to begin trying the "zepams" out there, i.e. diazepam (valium is smoother) but it is strong too. Mylan fit the bill and I wasn't ever dopey feeling.
Re: Ames (# 17)
These drugs do One thing to one person and something else to another. The only one that works for me is the Accord. The Teva is terrible. Another reason we are having problems with these drugs is that they are coming in from other countries. I received a prescription for Amoxicillin plus another drug and it is made in SLOVENIA. Not sure I want to take it.
Re: Stirfry (# 26)
JJ we can't go to another city to get the script filled even by another manufacturer as the pharmacies don't know our docs. I guess I'm going to get off them completely and hope for the best. My anxiety will probably get worse along with my insomnia. My doc won't put me on anything else, so I'm screwed. If you have any ideas of way wan do, please pass the info to me. I am tired of dealing with these issues and like I said, I called Accord and filled out a questionnaireSccorf Nd the FDA.
Re: Stirfry (# 29)
I've taken Teva since the 90s and they work great. I just started the Accord and this is freaking me out because they're not doing anything. I feel scared as hell because I don't even feel like this is clonazepam. I'm on 3mg a day and if it's not helping I could get even worse. This is just the beginning of the month. I told my parents about this and they don't believe me. I'm in full panic mode and my blood pressure has shot up. I don't know what to do, please help.... Any advice?
Re: John (# 31)
Hi John. I have written complaints to FDA, Accord Healthcare and spoke to my PCP and pharmacist. The pharmacies in the Houston area are ALL carrying Accord with no end in sight. The only thing I can tell you is write, call, etc to let everyone know we are not happy with their product. My doc won't change me to anything else, so I'm trying to wean off it and try to deal with my symptoms. I think the more complaints that go to FDA, pharmacies and Accord, maybe I. To me this will change, but for now im just trying to deal with it and it's not easy. I don't know what else to say or do to make pharmacies, FDA, and the manufacturers listen to us with us, patients, k owing this product is NOT up to par. My doc won't even request from ins. Co. Name brand. Now my anxiety and insomnia are worst than ever. Good luck and let me hear how you are doing and if you might have any ideas. Take care ok
Thanks for your message. I'd call Teva as well and ask them to please start getting their product out. The shortage recently was because they had none in their warehouse. I've only been taking accord for a few days and I hate it. I'm speaking to my dr this week about the problem. Do you think it's a good idea to let him know lots of people are complaining about Accord? Teva never has given me a problem. It's like there two different drugs, the Accord is super weak and making me on edge. Sorry if I am repeating myself.
Re: Clara (# 40)
Wow! I've had Clonazepam not turn up before but i agree this is bad stuff... I'm having lots of stomach problems since i started the Accord two weeks ago. It must do something but i think I'm in wd as i feel bad all the time now.
I have been using Teva .50 for years. They are no longer available for me in NY. I have tried Accord which makes me suicidal. Sandi nothing. Got the disintegrating Teva tablets and it makes me feel like I'm not in my body. When can I get my Teva .50 back? Does anyone know what's going in?
Is anyone experiencing bad headaches with Accord? My head feels like there's so much pressure in it.
Re: Mylan Bestie (# 52)
Yes just got the Sol dol brand by request. They bought Qualitest. I know they dissolve quickly so I take them sublingually. I've been on clonzapham for 20+ yrs. Maybe it's just a question of tolerance but I know I liked the Qualitest brand best 1mg. 3x a day. However, I think it's time to consider getting the brand name. My insurance will pay but requires prior authorization. No problem. I have lots of data. I thought maybe it's just me but I read all these other threads. Generics really are becoming worse by the day. God bless
I just wanted to follow up on the Accord switch for the people having problems. So for twenty years I took Teva. It worked great but did seem to lose its effectiveness due to being on the drug so long but it was my preferred choice. Anyhow....In late May I was prescribed Accord and physically I felt bad on the generic. I was actually able to cut back a .5 many days because I didnt like it at all and felt more out of it..During this time was told after calling the Teva co. they were discontinuing Teva clonazepam. Well a few days ago I go to get my new refill and they had Teva clonazepam the exact same pill as before. The first day on the drug was fine and actually the first dose I felt a wave or relief but the second and third days it seemed I was withdrawing from the accord. I felt sick to stomach had rapid heart palpitations and head pressure. I also now have a really strange taste in my mouth. The Accord seemed to really mess with my sinuses and now that Im switched back to Teva those problems have lessened but I feel more anxiety than I did before the switch. Trust me I know it spunds crazy but flip flopping on generics isnt good is my point. I was fine on Teva and now seems I may have to readjust again like I did with Accord. I wanted to follow up and let those looking for teva know I dont know how or whats up but I was able to obtain some through my pharmacy. Who knows how the rest of the month will go or if I will be back to Accord next month. I just need to stick to one. I dont like the flip flopping. I hope this helps someone.
Re: Duchessofperu (# 16)
Accord is not Chinese it's made in durham North Carolina
I was on Sandoz Clonazepam 0.5 mg brand 3 to 4 times a day for over 8 years, sadly they no longer make it anymore I had to switch to Accord that was all my Pharmacy could find. My Dr got smart early on and given me the heads up and was able to ordered me some Sandoz brand to help me work into switching over to ACCORD as my replacement med. After slowly mixing the two taking away a little each day of the Sandoz until I was only taking ACCORD for a month 1/2 I'm doing pretty good. Had one bad day, other then that I'm not noticing much difference except it wears off a half hour less time wise then Sandoz did. That is fine cause my DR just added a couple of more pills to my monthly script. Anyhow I'm sure all of you realize it takes awhile for your body to get used to a difference med even if they are all suppose to be made the same way, least that is what my Dr told me.
Good luck all and don't give up
Re: Lazaro (# 8)
Walmart has the worst garbage of most generics. I would never use them again. I'm now at a mom and pop pharmacy and pray they don't get swallowed up by the big pharmas. I now get calls from the pharmacist if something's not right. Walmart, never happened. They truly suck.
Re: Veg21 (# 65)
I guess maybe you are right I notice it takes the accord ones longer to kick in for me to feel normal in the morning.
Re: Veg21 (# 69)
I called Rite Aid and told them the accords made me ill. I could not get off couch. I was watching my grand daughter and I felt very shaky, blurred vision and many other symptoms. They said they would switch them for different blue ones they had. I am going to switch pharmacies on Tuesday.
