I was told by a marine recruiter that it does. ## I would think yes since it is a medication made to treat people that have bipolar disorder. Didn't the recruiter tell you that you can't be on any medications or anything like that? I know this because I was going to join and I'm on antidepressants and a friends of mine had to go off his Ritalin in order to join too. I suffer from severe anxiety depression medical related PTSD and have tried just about every ssri and Effexor benzos don't calm my racing thoughts. My doc is about to change me from SEROQUEL to ABILIFY. I want to know if I am doing the right thing. Seroquel has been the main cause for my weight gain and my doc believes that Abilify is weight neutral. I also take Wellbutrin and Ritalin 20mg xr. She has also suggested Topamax. Afew nights ago I had 2 alcoholic drinks and accidently missed my usual dose of 15mg abilify at 7pm. That night I had bad nausea and stomach pain and was awake all night with my heart racing and feeling extremely paranoid. In the morning I had a lot of energy but this didn't last long. I took my missed dose at roughly 8:30 am and expected the symptoms to dissapear but during the day I was still nauseous and very tired and slightly confused and felt abit off. Last night I had one drink and took my abilify at the usual time at 7pm. Again I had bad nausea and trouble sleeping and very vivid nightmares that woke me during the night. I was asked by my doc to start taking 2mg of Abilify because after taking 20mg of Celexa a month I'm not feeling much relief. I'm very leery because I've been working on straightening out a thyroid issue that has caused me to gain ten pounds in the last two months, and I understand that Abilify is a weight gainer. Do the benefits of being on Abilify outweigh the side effects of being on it? Please give me your thoughts and experiences. I filled my generic Abilfy and found pieces of small white flat tablets with 5 on one side and 17 on the other. ## Hello, Roy! How are you? Those are also generic Abilify tablets. For 10 years I have been devoted to this drug. I have a beautiful loving wife, a 3 month old daughter, I own my own home and bought a new car a few years ago. 10 years ago I was hospitalized because I thought I had to save the world from itself. Today, I am a counselor for homeless youth and young adults. Although I am no longer trying to "save the world" I am now facing a dilemma of trying to preserve my world without going insane. Based on all the warnings associated with Abilify, some of which can result in permanent impairment or death, why would anyone take the drug, and why on earth give it to a child. There is now a name for every twitch we go through and people are so quick to take a pill to fix every thing that is called life and living. It is not always easy or fun. I am depressed almost every day and I would never consider taking this drug. I'm 18 and married with an 11 month old baby. I'm always tired and never have any energy whatsoever. Even before I had a baby I noticed that I was always tired. found a small dark blue oblong pill, it is scored and i can read 07 on one side and the other side of the scored part is either an A or an M. The other side has nothing on it.
