What meds could have caused this? ## trazodone may come up as a benzo ## Ummmm.. your son is taking benzos ...Why does there have to be another reason
2 REPLIES UpdatedI was told by a marine recruiter that it does. ## I would think yes since it is a medication made to treat people that have bipolar disorder. Didn't the recruiter tell you that you can't be on any medications or anything like that? I know this because I was going to join and I'm on antidepressants and a friends of mine had to go off his Ritalin in order to join too. I personally thinks it's stupid to make someone have to go off medications they were prescribed by a doctor just because they want you to be perfect and crazy enough to shoot to kill if they send you into war. ## As a former recruiter, you will be automatically disqualified if you tell them that you are bipolar. Also, you have to be off all meds (except birth control) for 2 years. ## Not true. I haven't b...
4 REPLIES UpdatedAre there any antipsychotic medication that a man could take that doesn't cause impotence. On both abilify and xeplion at different times I was unable..... Are their any men out there who have been able to start a family while taking antipsychotics ? Please respond if you have. As this matter is of great importance to me. Thank you. ## There is no way to give a definitive answer to this question, because everyone is different, so not everyone experiences such side effects, according to NIH reports. If they are causing your severe problems, you should speak to your physician about trying a different medication. Which other ones have you tried? ## I'm not sure if the side effect of impotence differs from taking antipsychotics in different men. The side effect of weight gain for in...

I have no been put on abilify I was on 20 Mgs to start after switching directly from luvox and was on that over 2 weeks now raised to 40 of viibryd 6 days ago one doc wants to add abilify 4 Mgs the other said no any feedback so far viibryd isn't helping I took 2 Mgs awhile ago when on lexapro but neither helped me please let me know plus all the reviews on viibryd are awful ## Hello, Theresa! How are you doing? I've read and responded to quite a few of your posts and I can tell that you are suffering and in quite the dilemma. I am so very sorry about that. Have you ever considered doing an inpatient treatment for a week or so? If...
3 REPLIES UpdatedI found this green oblong pill, faded so I can't read it, looks to be blank on one side, A-007/2? I found it in my cabinet and I want to know if my roommate is getting high again. I would really appreciate your help ## Hello, Aften! How are you? I believe the marking you're describing is A 006 2. This tablet is manufactured by Bristol-Myers Squibb and they list it as being a 2mg Abilify tablet, it's a type of antipsychotic. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, sedation, somnolence, mood swings and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?
1 REPLY UpdatedMy doc is about to change me from SEROQUEL to ABILIFY. I want to know if I am doing the right thing. Seroquel has been the main cause for my weight gain and my doc believes that Abilify is weight neutral. I also take Wellbutrin and Ritalin 20mg xr. She has also suggested Topamax. Any advise ## Hello, Alicat! How are you? The only way to see how a medication will work for you is by actually trying it. Others can chime in with their experiences, but we are all different and what works well for one person may not work well for another. However, Abilify is not listed as being weight neutral, weight gain is reported by the FDA as one of its most common side effects, along with nausea, headache, blurred vision and dizziness. Topamax is actually used, in some cases, for weight loss, so if weig...
2 REPLIES UpdatedAfew nights ago I had 2 alcoholic drinks and accidently missed my usual dose of 15mg abilify at 7pm. That night I had bad nausea and stomach pain and was awake all night with my heart racing and feeling extremely paranoid. In the morning I had a lot of energy but this didn't last long. I took my missed dose at roughly 8:30 am and expected the symptoms to dissapear but during the day I was still nauseous and very tired and slightly confused and felt abit off. Last night I had one drink and took my abilify at the usual time at 7pm. Again I had bad nausea and trouble sleeping and very vivid nightmares that woke me during the night. Can abilify cause sudden onset of alcohol intolerance? I have not been able to find much information online on this subject. ## Hello, Loz! How are you? I...
1 REPLY UpdatedAwful drug..Side effects of crying.urinating in pants, severe aggression .... ## My son is 24. He has Down Syndrome and has been taking Paxil for years. He recently started Abilify 2 mg for aggression/irritability/anxiety/shaking. He is crying now and NEVER cries. It is heartbreaking. He is very sad. ## Have you contacted his doctor? Abilify, which is an antipsychotic containing the active ingredient Aripiprazole, is not the right medication for everyone to use. It really sounds like it is having a negative effect on him and his doctor might need to switch him to something else. ## My 14 year old daughter has Autism. She has been on Zoloft for years. Her Doctor added Abilify several months ago. I wish we had not gone down this road. She has always suffered from anxiety but now has develo...

1 REPLY UpdatedI was asked by my doc to start taking 2mg of Abilify because after taking 20mg of Celexa a month I'm not feeling much relief. I'm very leery because I've been working on straightening out a thyroid issue that has caused me to gain ten pounds in the last two months, and I understand that Abilify is a weight gainer. Do the benefits of being on Abilify outweigh the side effects of being on it? Please give me your thoughts and experiences. Remember it's only a 2mg supplement to the 20mg of Celexa I've been on. ## Hello, Rocky! How are you? It is approved as an adjunct to antidepressants in doses from 2mg to 5mg daily. It may cause some weight gain, as listed by the FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and sedation. However, most side effects are transie...
4 REPLIES UpdatedCan anyone. Please tell me what this pill is? It's round and has 600-A 15 ## Hello, Seth! How are you? Actually, you were looking at it upside down, the imprint is A-009 15. This tablet is manufactured by Otsuka American and they list it as being a 15mg Abilify tablet. The FDA classifies this medication as an atypical antipsychotic and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?
1 REPLY UpdatedI filled my generic Abilfy and found pieces of small white flat tablets with 5 on one side and 17 on the other. ## Hello, Roy! How are you? Those are also generic Abilify tablets. They are manufactured by Torrent Pharmaceuticals and they list them as being 5mg tablets. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drooling, somnolence, weight gain and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?
1 REPLY UpdatedFor 10 years I have been devoted to this drug. I have a beautiful loving wife, a 3 month old daughter, I own my own home and bought a new car a few years ago. 10 years ago I was hospitalized because I thought I had to save the world from itself. Today, I am a counselor for homeless youth and young adults. Although I am no longer trying to "save the world" I am now facing a dilemma of trying to preserve my world without going insane. I have a lot at stake. I am much older now. I like to think I have learned a few things about myself and illness. The truth is I hate having to take medication. I was 19 when I first had my break and now I am 30. I was 180 and now I am 280. I carry the weight well but since I no longer have the weight of the world on my shoulders (which was a tremend...
2 REPLIES UpdatedBased on all the warnings associated with Abilify, some of which can result in permanent impairment or death, why would anyone take the drug, and why on earth give it to a child. There is now a name for every twitch we go through and people are so quick to take a pill to fix every thing that is called life and living. It is not always easy or fun. I am depressed almost every day and I would never consider taking this drug. I fill my days caring for others and try to make myself useful. ## Abilify is an antipsychotic, so it is really only intended to be used for severe treatment resistant cases, it's not intended to be used to treat minor depression, anxiety or other similar conditions. And all medications do carry the risk of causing serious, long-term side effects, or death in rare...

This is a 20mg Abilify tablet, it is an antipsychotic medication that's most commonly used to treat the symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, somnolence and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?

So, what you need to do is make sure to take no more than the supply that is accounted for on the bottles and make sure that they are all in the appropriate...
2 REPLIES Updatedcan abilify give a false positive drug test result for methamphetamine? ## No, it is in no way related to any type of Methamphetamine. The active ingredient in it is Aripiprazole, an atypical antipsychotic. Are there any questions or comments? ## dennis p Banned Elsewhere User ID: 31025 Today 05:48 PM Post: #1 "Abilify false Advertising" "Abilify antipsychotic" Why dont they say that on there t.v ads? 3 REPLIES UpdatedI'm 18 and married with an 11 month old baby. I'm always tired and never have any energy whatsoever. Even before I had a baby I noticed that I was always tired. I've always been a great weight and after having a baby I'm just as small as I was when I was about 14. I went to a psychologist and they said I had bipolar disorder. I tried Abilify and didn't like it. Then they had me on Giodon. The Giodon had horrible side effects and made me like a zombie. When I looked up symptoms for having bipolar disorder I only had 1, I would get annoyed really easily. When I began to look up other things it looked like my symptoms were leaning towards narcolepsy but once again I only had 1 symptom but it was a main one, being tired all the time. So finally I looked up ADD and I have...
2 REPLIES Updatedfound a small dark blue oblong pill, it is scored and i can read 07 on one side and the other side of the scored part is either an A or an M. The other side has nothing on it. I cant find what it is anywhere ## Based on the description provided, the closest match I'm finding is an oblong blue pill marked with "A-007" on one side and a small "5" underneath of it (& the other side is blank). This particular pill is identified as Abilify (5 mg); which is an atypical antipsychotic and antidepressant used in the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and clinical depression. Manufacturer: Bristol-Myers Squibb I came across two other potentially close matches that do fit your imprint; however, the color happens to be white on both of them. Does anyone else here ...
