I have been taking Adderall IR (Barr) 2 - 20mg 2x a day 80mg total per day for the past 3 yrs. My Doctor changed it to Dextroamp-Amphet ER 20 Mg caps same dosage 80mg total per day. I've been getting constant headaches, neck pain, I'm falling asleep in the middle of the day. I heard a lot about Dexedrine and how it acts the same as Adderall with out these side effects? If so, should i ask my doctor ? Would the same dosage work for me? ## There is no medication that actually works without side effects, some people are just fortunate and don't experience them. I have done the one thing I say I will not do every month with my vyvanse. I got 2 prescriptions filled this week one for 50 and one for 60. Now here it is day 4 that I have almost taken all of it. I am always looking for that ultimate high but it always ends up like this. The initial high is gone and now I feel like crap. I have barely slept or eaten and I am trying to get get past this stage of the crash. I am trying to hydrate and I am taking my normal meds prozac,lunesta,xanax. I do not want to keep with the cycle of smoking all day not eating and then having to take extra xanax and drink to go to sleep knowing I will feel worse in the morning. I am so uninterested in anything around me but I feel I need to be doing something. Any stories or advice would be much appreciated. *please...

It is happening more frequently; got some methamphetamine, IV'ed it, got crossed-eyed, disoriented, can't focus vision or walk straight. It has to be something that is made liquid and re-rocked into the methamphetamine. The stuff breaks down clean in the spoon, no trash, but the effects are awful (to me, anyway, I hate it). First noticeable effects instant vomiting, then the disorientation sort of like being drunk but not. I did a lot of the stuff last year and good stuff give to heavy breathing, sweating, tingling head, increased energy. The come down always sucks and it is hard on a body in the end, but that's another major difference when I get the stuff with what I call the additive, sever muscle spasm, cramping, and temporary paralysis all over the body. I have had a perscription for adderall in the past and it worked very well. I have been off it for a while and would like to get back on it. I feel that doctors would be apprehensive about this "story" and think that I am drug seeking. well, I guess I am because i found something that worked and now I am looking to get back on it and I am on a different side of the country. any advice to get a pescription besides just over act all the symptoms hoping the dr gives me what I know has worked in the past?

I am very shocked to learn results of my urine test as positive with traces of Amphetemine. I have taking prescribed Mebeverine 135mg for my IBS which was causing chronic stomach pains. Never ever taken drugs in my life. I have taken 2 hair follicle tests... did not dye my hair at all. i have taken 5 urine tests and passed every one of these. but the last 2 times they sent me in for my urine tests, which i passed, they also had me use finger nail polish remover to remove my toe nail polish and nail tested me. both of these came back positive for amphetamines. At the place they took my nails they told me this would go back 90 days but the lab they were tested at told me it goes back 8 months! i am under supervised visitation and have lost custody of my children because of this. im getting a bit fustrated because i have not used drugs since my custody battle has started. these are my children we are talking about! i attend church every friday and sunday. they are pushing me to go to inpatient rehab. i hav...

How long does a half of a 20 mg Adderall take to get out of your system and urine ? ## Adderall has a half life of about 12 hours so if you took 10 mg, 12 hours later you'd have about 5 mg in your system, 12 hours later you'd have about 2.5...etc. You could be clean in as little as a day depending on your body. I'd say no more than 48 hours.

I've been diagnosed Bipolar II. Am currently on, and have been for a few years, Paxil, Lamictal, risperdal and klonopin. Dr just prescribed 20mg Adderall XR cuz I've been complaining about distractibility. I've never been diagnosed with ADD. I am on adderall 20mg 4 times a,day for ADD and fatigue...adderall is generic and ir was curios if I ask shrink for an increase to 30mg 4 times a day or stick at 20 mg and add in ritalin 10mg xr 2 times a day sometimes I am falling asleep around 4pm and can't take an adderall or it will throw it all off in how many I have. ## Hello, Dave! Recently I was prescribed Concerta by a psychiatrist and forgot to tell my family Dr. although I did call his office to let his secretary know, but I guess she didn't pass the message on. My urine test came back showing there were things in it that shouldn't be, so now he won't prescribe any narcotics. I've been prescribed 10mg Adderral twice a day for adult ADD/ADHD. This is the 1st time I've ever taken any kind of medication like this. When I take my 1st does, 9am, I feel like I just chugged a cup of coffee. I feel wired and almost unable to focus at all because I'm too hyper. It subsides in about an hour and I can feel the medication wearing off some. I take my 2nd dose around noon or 1am. Again, it gets me a little wired but wears off some later... My questions are: 1. I have been taking Vyvanse for several years now and it has changed my life.....for the better. I was in my late 40's when I took a brother of mine to the doctor to see if there was any help available for his mental condition. I took one adderall 10 mg XR about a month and a half ago. I just had a hair test yesterday and was wondering if that little amount of adderall will show up? ## A Hair Drug Test is meant to show consistent use over time. A 1.5 inch sample will go back 90 days. Adderall won't show up in the screen process because of the method used but could show up as an Amphetamine if it was sent straight to confirmation but that rarely happens. For the most part I think you would be negative on a hair drug test.

Hello. I was recently diagnosed with ADD and prescribed the generic form of adderall XR 20 mg. It works in very short spurts of time and I feel as if I have no control over the medication when I need to come down. I cannot keep staying up until 3 in the morning with 2 babies to take care of. I've read online that the instant release works better for people like me in terms of control. Should I switch?
