My doctor advised to avoid citrus fruits, like grapefruit, when taking my meds. She said that if i do eat citrus, make sure it is 2 hrs after i have taken the medicine. My question is, will my meds be affected if i've eaten grapefruit 4 hours after taking my morning dose and when i take my second dose in 2 hours? Also, is there an adverse reaction? ## Hi Rosie, There's a lot of mixed information online regarding whether or not grapefruit has a synergistic effect on Adderall's potency. Some users claim that they drop the pill in a glass of grapefruit juice for a more potent effect, however I do not encourage doing this, since I don't know how much more potent it can be. When I check various food interac...

Thanks so much!!!! ## My doctor recently passed away and I hv not bn able to find a Dr that will write my Adderall or Xanax and I hv bn on both these meds since I was 14 now 38 and I hv no idea what I...
Do Atomoxetine generics have good or bad brands, and if so, which ones? Anyone who has been on an Adderall forum knows how terrible some of the generic brands are. And some make Atomoxetine too. Which ones have you tried? Even if you haven't found any to be better or worse than another.
Updated in StratteraI would like some input on Adderall 20 mg Instant Release. I have been through four manufacturers. I was on Activist and lots of people did not like it, however it worked for me. It had its fault but in the end it was recalled. Sometime during that period Teva bought out Activist. Since then I haven't been able to get an instant release to work without bad side effects. Then I was told there was a Name Brand being sold by Teva. I was able to get this with pill logo dp 20. I took only ten milligrams and my heart was racing out of control. I called the F D A and they advised me that the pill with imprint dp 20 was a generic. What I would like to know is how can it be Name Brand when through research shows after Shire discontinued AD 20 there was no other name brand. I have looked up N...
My mother was told that her doctor could no longer prescribe the dextroamphetamine that she has been taking, at minimum dose, for oer 50 years. She takes it for ADHD and narcolepsy. Her doctor tells her that it is no longer legal to "provide" it for her because congress has made it illegal to "provide" to any medicaid patient for any reason. Can someone help me follow this up? If the story she is telling me is true, I need to write my congressman to protest. Since when does the Federal government have the right to interfere in our private health care needs - she is not asking them to pay for the medication, she has simply LOST THE RIGHT TO HAVE IT PRESCRIBED TO HER. Is there anyone else out there that thinks this is WRONG?! ## This is not true. I take 2, 10mg dextroamphe...
My 5 year old son was givin methylin 5 mg it worked for about a month then stopped, we upped it to the 10mg extended release, he developed anger issues so we decided to go back down the the 5 mg the new script we were givin wasnt methylin 5 mg it's methylphenid 5 mg. my questions is, is that the same thing? ## Hi. I have the same question. Did anyone give you an answer back in 2009 for the difference btw. these 2 drugs? Thanks. ## Yes, they are the same. The active ingredient is Methylphenidate, which is also what generics are called, and Methylin is a brand name of Methylphenidate. This medication is commonly used to treat ADHD, and the FDA warns that it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, mood changes, and weight loss. Ref: Methylphenidate In...
I have blue capsules that say adderall xr 30 mg on them but they have only white beads. Is this generic or brand? And how are these different from the orange 30 mg adderall xr with the white and orange beads? ## @Ricky, When you switch between different manufacturers, the only noticeable thing I'm aware of that actually changes are the inactive ingredients (binders/fillers), so that could be one reason why the beads are different colors - different dyes? As to whether or not it's a generic or brand that you have, my research shows that the orange 30mg pill marked with "Adderall XR" is indeed a brand name and not generic. The blue capsule on the other hand is also reported to be brand name Adderall XR... however, I'm seeing conflicting information from Shire Pharmaceu...
I tried to run my script through my Cigna Medicare health insurance plan like I always do and it comes out to be around $10 or $20 a month. I received a partial fill with a promise that the remainder would be in the following week (which they were). A few days later, I received a letter in the mail stating that Cigna either is not covering it anymore in 2023 or they put a quantity limit on it. I'm not sure which as I am having difficulty getting through on their phone. Has anyone heard of this? I take 60 mg daily IR. It was floating around that the DEA decided that it was a 'new, universal rule' that 40 mg is the max to be dispensed to anyone in a month. Help! Can someone explain these changes to me to the best of your ability? ## Hmmm, I’m interested in this answer to...
I have an appointment with my psychiatrist this week and I plan to tell him about Amneal's discontinuation of Generic Dexedrine ER. That was the only authorized generic I could find, and the only version which worked for me. Now that I can't get it, should I request an IR version, or is there something more appropriate? I realize my doctor is the best person to ask, but I'd like to know what to ask for heading into the appointment. Thanks in advance! ## Have you tried Vyvanse? It's a great medication to treat ADHD. There's also Mydayis that's supposedly a great medication, as well. ## Amneal also makes brand Dexedrine Spansules. Tell your doctor that generic doesn't work for you/causes "side" effects, and have him/her (or the employees in their practi...
Tomorrow I should be filling a script for 30 mg Adderall IR tablets, but I am nervous about getting stuck with a subpar generic. What are the current generic manufacturers as of this month? My only option with my insurance is to fill at Rite Aid or CVS - which generic do they commonly carry? I appreciate your help! ## Spoke with corepharma this morning. They no longer manufacture amphetamine salts. Limited to Sandoz, barr/teva, and a few others now. I was just switched to Aurobindo. IT IS AWFUL. It feels narcotic, makes my add worse, and is inconsistent at best in strength. ## The worst are corepharma's bright pink round pills. CVS buys them at the cheapest rate. Mylan aren't bad with their peach round MA20, but most swear by Sandoz and Barr/teva. ## Being that we all react/resp...
How much weight, per week can one expect to lose on dexedrine? ## It has successfully helped some people to lose weight. How much they lose varies and it must be combined with appropriate diet and exercise. This is a simulant medication containing Dextroamphetamine. Common side effects can include: nausea, insomnia, anorexia and headache. Does anyone else have experience using this medication? ## I am taking prescribed Dextroamphetamine but cannot afford to lose any weight, which I am doing. Are there any helpful hints anyone can offer me. A Dietitian is attempting to help, but without success. Thanks. ## Only because dexamfetamine sulphate is a very strong stimulant which takes away any desire to eat... ## Dexedrine is a powerful appetite suppressant. When the drug stops working your b...
Is anyone having stomach problems with Sandoz 20mg Adderall? ## Ugh I haven’t tried them yet because I got half Teva and half Sandoz at my last fill. I hope not I already have stomach issues. ## I like Sandoz much better than TEVA but these stomach problems are hard to deal with. Today I'm so bloated and so uncomfortable and on top of that I'm so unbelievably nauseous. Why can't they make these drugs like they used to. It's really disheartening when you can't get a prescription that works (like they did 2 to 3 years ago?). I firmly believe that down the road we're all screwed. Too much generic, overseas garbage they're making. I don't even know why there's the DEA cause they don't do s*** to make sure we're getting quality pharmaceutical...
Sandoz version of generic Adderall 20mg is the same garbage Adderall generic Aurobindo. I mean exactly the same pill! They stamp a different name on the outside of the bottle, but its all made at that awful Aurobindo cheap/ fake pharmaceutical company, These pharmaceutical companies think they are so smart! You can put whatever name on the outside of the bottle you want... it's still going to be garbage. ## Hello, Christine! How are you? I'm sorry that you are so unhappy with this medication. As to the pills, under law, the U.S. FDA requires every company to use a unique imprint to enable identification of manufactured products in case of emergency. Thus, the imprints are not repeated from one company to another. However, the manufacturer listed on the label by your pharmacy cou...
I have tried every adhd med. Am currently taking adderall 20mg but have been feeling extremely tired all the time for the last 6 months. How should I approach my doctor about trying Desoxyn and which kinds or brands are still available? Or how else can I try it? ## Usually, it is best to not ask for a specific medication, just let them know that the current on is not working for you. The discussion of alternative options should naturally result from that. Desoxyn contains Methamphetamine, so it is not generally the first choice used for treatment of ADHD. The FDA warns that it must be used with caution, as it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, anorexia, insomnia, and irritability. Ref: Desoxyn and ADHD Which other medications ...
Desoxyn seems to be given to some. I for one have never had it or anything close, legal or not. If you did use it, was it effective or was it too much to tolerate. What was your experience? ## I haven't taken it yet. Pharmacies like CVS and Ralphs don't have it and other pharmacies I've called need the actual written prescription to tell me if they can even fill it. So I have to get the physical prescription from my Dr. and drive around and ask. I'll let you know asap. ## Desoxyn is new news to me as well. One thing I don't understand though is why/how doctors are able to justify writing prescriptions for what is widely recognized to be an illicit/illegal substance (more commonly known as Methamphetamine). For the FDA to approve Methamphetamine (Desoxyn) seems to me ...
Hi, has anyone heard of or tried Buprenorphine or Vivitrol and Wellbutrin together for help stopping methamphetamine use? I'm very interested in this. There were studies and tests & trials done with methamphetamine users and the results were quite impressive. I would like to hear any experiences anyone may have with these medications and the success they had or failures, if any. Thanks. ## Buprenorphine is a medication that is commonly used to treat opioid addiction, but some research has suggested that it may also be helpful in reducing methamphetamine use. Vivitrol is another medication that is used to treat opioid addiction, but it has also been studied for its potential in reducing methamphetamine use. Wellbutrin is an antidepressant that has also been shown to be effective ...
I suffer from severe ADD and anxiety. I found a doctor in Houston who prescribe me Desoxyn and Adderall for 12 years to treat my anxiety and ADD. But recently she decided to take me off the medication. I have years of records I’ve been prescribed medication and a severe need for it to function at work and live my life normally. So if anyone knows of any doctor in Houston if you willing to look at directions and prescribe this to me please let me know? ## Did u find a source? Im in the EXACT same boat, in The Woodlands
I have been diagnosed with ADD when I was 19 and also PTSD around the same time. I am now 24. I finally went to a dr instead of self medicating. It has been yrs. since I have been off of adderall for my ADD and klonopin for my PTSD. I live in NY and as you know a lot of dr.s here get locked up. It's happened to both of my Drs. Since then I've been an opiate addict and just came home from prison. I'm not a bad person I just need to be properly medicated but no dr wants to prescribe me anything even though I have been properly diagnosed. I'm on methadone now and still can't properly function. I don't use opiates anymore but my ADD and anxiety cripple me in everyday life. Please help if you have some advice I would greatly appreciate it. ## When seeing a new doctor,...
I need help with methamphetamine dependence. I would like to know if there is any kind of med I could take to help get off of this drug? ## I am not a doctor by no means, but try taking an anxiety med like klonopin 2mgs every 6 hours, trazodone, or valium 10 mg every 6hours if you can. I don't know how bad your addiction is but that may not be the way to go. If you have a bad addiction, you may want to consider going to a clinic to get suboxone. Please don't do it alone. There is always help for what you are going through. I wish you well. ## Nerak, I have just now read your question regarding your addiction. I hope that you have found help by now. My daughter was addicted to Methamphetamine for a little while and she ended up in jail because of it. She got help from Narcotic An...
I had a hair follicle test done and it came back positive for amphetamines, and methamphetamine. I was wanting to know if any of the medicines I have been taken can cause a false positive. I have taken adderall, Advil, ibuprofen 800 mg, excedrin migraine, Zantac, night quil, Tylenol, aspirin, Xanax, midol, robaxin, and Abilify. Any information you can give me will be helpful. Thank you for your time. ## It doesnot mean u did anything or took anything. The test is false if u know u did not use. Mygrandson tested pos in two hair tests for morphine and morphine and oxycontin. That was impossiblr. I had samples retested both were CLEAN Cps dismisssed the case but damage was done You know you trusr ur self fight for what u know to be true. ## Adderall is an amphetamine, it will show up as su...
