Yes - I found that out too. Alprazolam is Xanax made by any company since the Xanax patent ran out. The square-on-round pale yellow tablets, as well as well as the stylized R on a pale yellow round tablet are both XR - extended release versions of generic Xanax 1 mg. Those prove absolutely adequate for my panic and anxiety.The XR versions help me way more. Whatever you do, be careful of the rectangular, or "Bar" ones. Many are fake and can make you sick. They are counterfeited often because they are illegally traded easily and at a premium. I hope that your Doc prescribed them to you, they are very potent. Too much for me. One knocked me out for 17 hours.
