A Doctor That Will Prescribe Xanax In Or Around Nashville Tn (Page 5) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have been having anxiety attacks for years and had mistaken it for severe depression. After having my third child they started to become out of control. I've seen a few doctor's that all seem to want to try a large combination of meds and diagnose me with a number of things... one doctor (that no longer is in this state) prescribed 1mg xanax and I felt as if I could get on my knees and cry out thank you. I felt cured. Then he left state and another doctor put me on ativan 1mg 2x a day and it didn't kick in until after the damage of the attack was done and after me freaking out or pulling over on road to cry... then it would last way longer and I felt a bit like a zombie where the xanax would kick in fast, take care of the issue and leave soon after. Too many ppl abuse the drug and make it hard for ones that find it as a true life saver. Where can I find a doctor in or around nashville tn that is comfortable prescribing xanax 1mg for anxiety attacks?

I worked all my life’ therefore I have excellent insurance’ but what good is it if you can’t find a Dr. that listens to
You. It actually is way more b/c of other underlying health conditions. The thing I’m trying to convey is ‘ what good is life if it’s not Quality of Life? I know all about the zanax side effects’ but I’was t worried b/c the meds worked for me. They may work differently on others’ so what works for me may not work for others. As far as find another Dr.’ The MHC in the US is horrible! It’s all about $$$ ‘ & pushing the next drug! Im not going to stay with him much longer’ I’m just trying to get myself out of the house & somewhat functioning b/f I can change. I am nowhere near that esp after losing 2 of my immediate family 3 mths ago. I wish you al the best!

Re: Pat (# 46)
Have you tried pain management doctors or a pain clinic? What about a neurologist or spine surgeon?
Re: Boxstar (# 78)
Well I must say! It’s just a never ending vicious cycle! I lost my brother/father all within 3 months. I’m still in shock! My psychiatrist thinks it’s ok for me to feel this way! Nope, can’t put me back on all the meds that worked for me. Said it was an opioid crisis! Well then close the damn borders! That’s were all the Fentanyl comes in! At this point I’m just gonna say screw the real doctors! It’s less hassle! I’m gonna lose my job anyways so wtf do I care! Is it better to live a life in depression/pain all their your entire life or have some quality of life before you die? I even thought about moving to Canada to sign up for their Maid program! Why? b/c I have nothing left in this world! I still have a disabled mother but she threw me out of the house at 16.5 & now she wants me to help her! Why? She’s giving all the inheritance to her granddaughter & her children! My brothers who I helped save his life years ago while in a coma! I should of just walked away b/c now they are all hanging up on me! The doctors know what’s going on, yet they just have their eyes closed. I’m done! If I don't get the help I need I will be signing up for the maid program!
You have to see a psychiatrist, most PCPs are not comfort Describing these medication‘s and I don’t even know if they are legally allowed to in the southern states.
Y'all seem to have less freedom down there than what I'm used to up in New England.
Have you tried to psychiatrist I suspect you’ll have a hard time finding a PCP who will do it. And you may have to agree to drug tests and pill counts, but it’s worth it.
Re: Eddy (# 3)
I don’t know where you live but most psychiatrists where I live accept insurance.
I don’t think I would see a psychiatrist who doesn’t accept insurance because I would suspect there’s a reason insurance will not contract with them, and that’s kind of terrifying.
Just because you don’t like what he had to say doesn’t mean he’s wrong. And just because there’s no law that says a PCP can’t prescribe these things that doesn’t mean they have to. I have to drive to another state to get Adderall or alprazolam because we don’t have enough psychiatrists where I live.
My provider closed for about six months a couple years ago after her boss died from Covid, it took them a little bit but she reopened her own practice.
She told me she was going to so I didn’t want to try to find someone new when I already had to drive to another state to see someone so my PCP handled the prescriptions until I was able to see her again.
And yeah, it sucks, I’ve had ADHD for 20 years and I really suffered when I couldn’t get that medication because none of the psychiatrist around here took state insurance.
I had a couple PCP‘s who felt comfortable giving it to me because they could see I had already been prescribed it.
So it’s not that they can’t, it’s just that they don’t like. So if they won’t they won’t, you can’t force them to
Re: Lisa12 (# 4)
Sweetie those other medications you suggested are benzos as well, the withdrawal would be extremely similar. The only difference is Valium stay in your system longer than Xanax so the withdrawal probably wouldn’t hit as quickly.
Your advice doesn't make sense. They’re all the same medication that would have the same withdrawals
Re: Ally (# 7)
I don’t know it seems like OP doesn't want to see a psychiatrist, lots of people are complaining psychiatrist don't take insurance, we've got people telling her not to take benzos because they’re bad withdrawals but take these other benzos instead.
This whole thread is a s*** show honestly, and the mod who gave OP advice really said all that needs to be said
Re: Boxstar (# 83)
You can always take a drive to a dependable pharmacy in Mexico? I have never had a Doctor that listened to me more than the guy I just lost. Yet he was nutty, rather talk about vintage Disney films than doctoring. He actually spent up to two hours with me, unheard of today. I do feel bad for you as some Doctors will give stuff that makes you sicker. And if you are in a withdrawal situation like I was, you can have a stroke or worse yet die. I am very aware that Xanax is currently abused by every drug addict, especially those still taking Opioids. This is now making it almost impossible for those of us who need this medicine. Also once you reach 60 or above, doctors are trained not to prescribe for fear of liability. I am amazed I have had such limited problems obtaining this medicine. The good times will end sooner than later. What part of the Country do you live in?

Hi Kris, from everything i've heard, xanax is a horrible thing to try to withdraw from. Maybe consider Klonipin or Valium. I have taken xanax and know it works well but I would hate to be dependent on it.
