9 Months After Fusion

I am 9 months out of L3-S1 fusion and ligament repair, still unable to work and still suffering from the side effects of "F" word as i call it and oxycodone and neurontin. The combo of all of them make me nuts. I am hoping to taper in May but my doctor made no mention of tapering until i did. I am concerned that they knoe i am not going to get better so they are not concerned. However, i don't k ow that i am improving any more. I improved until end of Feb. And then i started having more pain, the pain in my legs and hip came back and numbness in feet. I am convinced i have permanent nerve damage. The dr said the numbness may never go away. I have been experiencing withdrawal symptoms. I am wondering if its because i have been on the same dose of F, OC's and neurontin since surgery and my body is saying i need more? Please advise.

Based on your description, I would think that your body is likely craving more Oxycodone, as this is very addictive and habit forming (whether you use it correctly or not); it is just the nature of the drug. Some people can manage the addiction with strong will power - but if you gotta take it, you gotta take it.

Personally, I'm strongly against using prescription pain meds and always prefer natural alternatives. My reasoning is due to the prescription's inability to heal the underlying cause of the pain and more so just covers up the pain, so to speak. The severity of the pain is determined by the levels of inflammation where the pain lies. That said, if you are indeed looking to get off of Oxycodone, I would consider supplementing with Copaiba Essential Oil as well as Oregano Essential Oil, in order to achieve some of the most potent natural anti-inflammatory responses. (Both oils can and should be taken internally if they are therapeutic grade). Oregano Oil even offers pain relief that is comparable to Morphine. You may be interested in researching that.

This is just my two-cents, but I hope my opinion helps!
