9 Mg Dose Of Klonopin

Last night, unknown to me, my fiance took around 9 mg of my prescription klonopin. Needless to say, he passed out and slept for around 14 hours. He's now awake, lucid, normal, healthy appetite, but he's experiencing muscle weakness and bouts of sleepiness. How long will these effects last? I DO NOT want him going to work until it is out of his system, as he has a physical job. Needless to say, I'm very angry with him, and scared for his well-being. How long will this be in his system, and does it require any medical attention? It's been 28 hours already.

I know its a late response but he will be okay!! You need to give it about 2-3 days and he should have no symptoms anymore.
Just taken 9mg of clonszapain and nothing? Is my medication fake? I have never felt anything from them!
9 mg of Klonopin are enough to make you lose your balance but they are short half-life and if your body was still we can weird 28 hours later I was thinking maybe he was on something else I hope I'm wrong but maybe he use the nine and didn't take them all at once I don't know all those things but I just 11 mg and I'm still doing pretty OK
9- 1 mg is a lot for someone that doesn't take it regularly most people would be loot with 2. I was "dependent" for a while and could take as many as 6- 9 would have been no big deal.
For your BF though... Klonopin is also used for its muscle relaxing properties, it also has a fairly long half life. Usually it is Pilled with a non harming binder. He'll be fine after a day. Note: if he is subjected to u/a's, benzodiazepine metabolites stay in the body for 60-90 days!
For anyone that is dependent, it's a b**** to quit that stuff! It took about 6 months of messed up sleep and 90 days of vertigo to get my bearings. I used it for about 12 years.
he'll probably be fine. I'm on klonopin myself. There is a chance that the muscle weakness is being caused by rhabdomyolysis. I had that when I mixed alcohol with klonopin and ended up hospitalized for it. But,I was literally unable to walk. so his case might not be so bad. If you want him to get checked over the doctor you could say he took them without knowing proper dosage/not to take with alcohol if you're trying to avoid him getting in trouble for overdosing or something. But, if it is rhabdo it can be serious, it affects the kidneys.
That is a very high amount to take, at once.
And yes, he should consult his doctor, because though he may otherwise feel fine, except for the aches and weakness, he could have caused some organ damage. It would be best to let a doctor check, than to take the risk of suffering a heart attack or stroke.

Has he improved any?
