832 93 How Can You Tell If You Are Taking A Placebo Of The Medication You Used To Take (Top voted first)
UpdatedMy doctor and I had discussed my quitting taking Clonopin 0.5 mg. as I have taken for so long, so he told me he would submit a placebo at some time without telling me. Got my RX filled and keep sweating and getting headaches. Could this be from the placebo as the pill looks and has the same imprint as the original one I was taking. How can you tell?
I have taken 5mg. Hydrocodone a few times before.l hurt my leg recently , and my doc. Prescribed the same. This time its not helping at all. I think there placebos.how can tell the differnts
is there any way to tell if my diazapam is a placebo im finding they are not working the same anymore i suffer with severe anxiety /panic attacks they still come in the same box as normal but they ve just stopped working
Can another pharmacist test the drug to see if it's the real thing?
I have taken Valium for forty years from a psychiatrist. The last two months I severely noticed a drastic effect on how I feel. Dr. David Winston prescribed Valium for me and the mental health system interfered with this and told Dr. Winston That I was not to have these kind of medicines (Benzos). Dr. Winston more or less admitted that I was not getting the real thing because he said from now on I'd have to get these drugs from a psychiatrist. I am very sick, having seizures and extreme anxiety all the time-both physical and psychological anxiety. no. You cannot trust doctors. They are involved in big money from the drug companies and new drugs that sell the most. You cannot just come off Clonazepam abruptly. The mental health has no business in telling a doctor what I should be taking. This was no doctor. This was a nurse from the mental health. I haven't seen them since last September. I know it is illegal for any health professional to give out information without a patient's written consent. I stopped going to Dr. Winston and saw another doctor and it was the same thing. I paid $100.00 for my Valium and it was the same thing. I'm getting my money back-no matter what. I thought I would get better service if I paid for the medicine, but I didn't get any decent service. Tevo and Teva are the brands I am getting lately for Valium, as well as the Mylan company. The new doctor had a funny look on his face when I left the office. You see, this i9s no longer America that we live in. In the past, if you were unsatisfied with a doctor, all you had to do was to see another one and your problem would be solved. Not anymore. Nowadays when somebody complains about you taking a controlled substance too long or somebody who disagrees with a treatment they don't like al treatment they report the DEA or a social worker can put any information in a central database and no matter where you go the doctors, the druggists, and who knows, will have all the information on you-everywhere you go. If you don't feel like you're getting the right thing, confront him/her and possibly press criminal charges. This is against the law. I am planning to do the same. Thank you for reading this. Good luck.
A medication that I have been taking for a good while for anxiety quit having any effect , the medication says to take 1 but I have taken as much as 4 at once and it has no effect at all..
What kind of doctor would do that to you? That's crazy. You should be tapered off any medication like that. I would find a new doctor.
You can tell if it's a placebo by the taste. Just suck on the pill or chew the pills and see if the pills taste the same as before. I have been taking Valium Diazepam since 1976. Valium has a phenyl taste and numbs the mouth. A person can get a tolerance to Diazepam and drugs like it. The last three months my pills don't work or have any taste and I'm very agitated. Whether it's illegal or not doctors now prescribe dummy pills without telling you and if you tell your doctor this they'll tell you you are getting the real thing. Doctors are committing a crime and so is the government (DEA). The doctors and the government do as they please because people let them get away with it. They have no conscience and doctors are afraid of losing their licence for prescribing Valium like drugs too long. But this doesn't make it right to lie to the patient . If you took four pills without any effect you are taking plecebos. You all know that the doctors all stick together and it,s time that you guys try to find proof and sue the doctors as a common criminal. This is what I am going to do. I'm fed up with it.
I'm going through the same thing right now, but with xanax!!! Something is definitely not right. Happy I found someone who is going through what I am right now. I was also on oxycodones. No more. Something with this senerio ain't right!! I also have cancer. Yes, I hurt!! I'm sick of what I'm going through right now!! They all think we're druggies!! I'm pissed off!! I will get to the bottom of this!!!
A Pharmacy can't give you a medication and lie to you about what it is or what it contains. Even if you have a rx compounded, the pharmacy must give you the correct information about what it contains and how much.
If a pharmacist fills a rx for a placebo the info on the bottle and in the drug info you're given has the placebo info.
If you're gotten a rx filled and the info on the bottle and in the drug info has the name of the med on it, for example. Valium/Diazepam then your Med is Valium/Diazepam. If you notice anything different it is because of the inactive ingredients and fillers that the manufacturer used. The inactive ingredients and fillers can change frequently.
If I ask my Pharmacist if my medication is a placebo, do they have to answer me honestly or just refuse to give me a reply?
If it has the same marking, then it is the same medication. Your doctor cannot manufacture and them have a pharmacy give you a fake pill, especially with the marking that is registered with the FDA as containing that medication. Doing such would be illegal.
And the other poster is correct, this type of medication must be tapered, after long-term use.
It is possible that your doctor just said that to try to encourage you to lessen your usage on your own.

How are you doing now?
Yes . It does not have any markings you can be assured as to a placebo.
After taking the same medication for a long period of time our body creates a tolerance.you may want to speak to your Dr about increasing your dosage.
Ruby, your medication is what is says on the bottle that it is. A pharmacy or pharmacist can't
give you a drug and tell you it is one thing and charge you for it and then it only be a placebo because that is against the law. Look on the prescription bottle, your prescriptions are what they say they are on your prescription bottle. If you aren't getting the effects you think you should be gettiing from a prescriptions, you need to discus it with your dr.
Ryanc1324, manufacturers non long are allowed to put more than 325 mg of Tylenol (Acetaminophen) in a prescription dose.
olliebeek, Rx is short for prescription.
Yer not getting a placebo. Yer having withdraw symptoms of the Klonopine. Yer dr. Is a quack. Abrubptly stopping a benzo causes major withdraw and can lead to seizure. Its extremely mexically dangerous
I find it very disturbing to hear your doctor would do this to you. Anybody taking any medications like yours and long term should ALWAYS be tapered off SLOWLY, NOT playing silly dangerous games like your doctor has using placebos etc. Messing around with you like that is terrible, and YES the side affects you experienced are from missing your usual dosage, those are very obvious signs of medication withdrawal. I suggest you find a NEW Doctor and when you do explain your experience with him/her and ask about taking any further action against your previous doctor, you may have grounds for a malpractice suit if its found to be that serious within the legal system and the code of ethics all doctors take. And the 1st code ALL doctors pledge is: TO DO NO HARM. In your case, harm HAS been done.... I hope you find a new doctor and i hope your future is a safe, balanced and positive one. If i can help in any way further please message me back anytime. Good luck to you!!!
