I have had tachycardia and high bp for a week now. I went to the ER cause my resting HR got it 146. My normal values are 120/78 and HR low 70s. In the past week my hr has been between 90-100. I'll even wake up at night with HR bring 100. I can't even stand up without it spiking my HR.

I had quite a few blood tests, EKG, echocardiogram and holter monitor and everything has come back fine. In 24 and healthy.... I've have never ever has and heart issues before. My GP gave me 5mg of bystolic to get my HR down til we figure it out. I've also stopped my newer BC pill that I started a little over two months ago to see if that caused the high bp? If I develop any bad side effects from this, because it's a low dose can I just stop taking it?

BC pills can cause these types of issues in some women, due to the estrogen in them.

As to the Bystolic, that is a very low dose, so there shouldn't be an issue unless you're on it for quite awhile. However, you should be informed that most side effects only last a couple of weeks and would generally be preferred to having a heart attack.

The normal side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain.

Is there anything else I can help with?
