Re: Chronically Painful (# 17)
The proper medication treatment for Fibromyalgia is to NOT use narcotics. If you read any studies, the agreed upon protocol for treatment of Fibromyalgia is to use meds that are more appropriate for treating nerve pain such as Gabapentin, Neurontin and now Lyrica as well. The protocol also suggests that the patient be referred to a behavioral health provider for further assessment. Narcotics are not the drug of choice for treating Fibromyalgia nerve pain and there is also concerns for potential misuse by clients using the narcotic pain meds to self medicate possible behavioral health diagnoses symptoms. I would advise that you educate yourself regarding appropriate and safe treatment for Fibromyalgia and not utilize narcotics as this can be construed as pain med seeking behaviors which will have a negative impact on other patients who have identified causes of pain through objective assessment such as imagining, MRI, CT scan, in order to have an accurate assessment of the reported pain.
Re: jac (# 8)
You are not the only one that doesn't suffer from opoids withdrawns, I don't either or get addicted because is only dependency. My symptoms of withdrawn are not to hard, just I mild discomfort and some diarrhea but I used ibuprofen and anti-diarrhea meds in the case I don't have mi pain meds that happened very rare almost never because I used the pain meds as are prescribed by my doctor.
My older son (38) hardly ever believe me that I dont get ill if a stop taking the oxycodone.
My doctor said this happens only to a small percentage of the population.
Re: Cal (# 12)
Plus the tremadol helos with the withdrawls also...
Must be nice. My doctor had to put my appt a week off. I wanted to die and yes have legit pain.
U stopped the oxycodone and loxycontin and then started using the Tramadol (aka Ultram)
???? Is that correct? Well, Tramadol is an opioid which is likely The reason why you never experienced withdrawal because u were not off all the lovely items produced for us from the poppy plant, my love.
Not true bud. You can go into withdrawals if you go from insufflating opana 30mg er to taking orally because not enough opiates are released into your system at one time. Also by half life and just down right different grades of pain killers. She made a big enough jump to have withdrawals. Some people really do not have withdrawals. I am also one of these people I take opana 30mg er in half 3-4 times daily and I have been for almost two years non-stop and I can stop tomorrow and not feel any different besides the excruciating pain in my back hip legs and heel plates due to nerve damage and ruptured and bulging discs. People react to medicine differently. I know a man, if he takes Valium or Xanax you will think he is on methamphetamine. People's molecular make-up are different in general. This difference can cause a wide range of reactions. Think about allergies, this is the same concept. A person's genomic and molecular make-up can alter what they are allergic too.
I myself always had back pains and once i started those dang strong pain meds i became addicted. I was taking way more than what i needed and i apologize about my addiction because i got really bad on them and i admit that i was stupid and wrong for doing that because i see so many elderly ppl that are suffering with so much pain and because like myself and ppl out buyin the s*** on streets messed it up for others and now I'm going through a lot of pain but i just take it. I deserve the suffering. The doctor was wanting me back on them but i wont take them. I told the doctor to give it to an elderly person to take. He looks at me and smiles and said he appreciates me being honest and straight with him about what I've done in my past, but now I've been off pain meds for four years and i just go day by day living life and thank the lord I'm here each and everyday.
It's right people don't get looked at as they are in pain you have to prove everything and you do suffer but finally someone puts all the medical info together but your body does become addicted to the pain meds your mind may not but your body does i don't want to be high don't like it just want to do for my family and house and can't do it without because pain is so bad never without pain don't want high dose just take the edge off the pain so i can do my duty for my family
How are you not able to become addicted thats stupid anyone can bec
ome addicted???
Tramodal nor soma are narcs. I don't know where you read that or who told you that, but you're wrong. Tramodal is a scheduled IV controlled substance just like soma. (FYI, if your soma really isn't helping you, you're probably taking it on a full stomach or ate something w/n 2hrs of taking it)
The reason why so many people think tramodal and even soma (believe me or not) of being a narcotic is for 3 main reasons for tramodal and 1 main reason for soma. I'll state tramodal first. First reason: It MIMIC'S an opiate pain reliever by sending an opioid-like molecule to attach to the opioid receptors (this also blocks any opioid to bind to any opioid receptors)
Second reason: it stops the release of dopamine and serotonin (2 hormones that are extremely important...another chat on those) which causes a feeling similar to xanax or Valium. Most antidepressants have this molecule (the same one in tramodal...way too long to type out) as a mood stabilizer.
When both molecules are combined the end product is Tramodal; and these 2 molecules combined are the reason people who take it don't feel pain bc it tricks the neurosynapses' in your brain to think you took 'an opioid' and therefore your brain sends a signal through your neurons to cut the sense of pain.
3 reason: this is the last reason. Even though the molecular structure of tramodal MIMIC'S 'a pain pill,' not everyone's brain understands that and their brain actually thinks it's been given 'opioids' and thus acts as a person who gets 'withdrawal' wo opiates after taking them for a period of time. The period of time depends person by person. So if a person is one who goes/gets withdrawals from opiates and is on a high dosage of tramodal for at least the period of time that individual needs to start withdrawal, than that individual will start withdrawal from the tramodal.
Soma: short and sweet... anyone, doesn't matter who takes it (even 1 tablet once in your life) is completely fine. Once the 'half life' (look that up if u don't know) peaks, the medication breaks down so it can be expelled from your body. Well, the 'end product' breaks down in almost the same manner opiates do and once turned into 'the end product' it's a form of one of the many broken down opioids. It doesn't make you 'high' or 'opiate sick' at all. You don't go through withdrawal nor even notice it. The only thing is the 'bye product' makes a person's urine cloudy with a distentive oder which goes away no later than that night.
I hope you actually read this whole thing. I apologize about my spelling; I used my phone and it kept misspelling words by adding letters or just straight up changing the word.
I HOPE YOU FOUND THIS TO BE AT LEAST A LITTLE INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE AS WELL. Hope you're good one day, and addiction and stuff will be a thing of the past.
I'm 41 years old, i been there and done that. I have had over 8 surgeries on both of my knees, and other surgeries. There is no such thing as having no withdrawals, i don't care if you are a mutant God. Ive seen numerous doctors through my life, from surgeons to pain doctirs, and they have all told me the same thing. Now you can be a perain that has non addictive personality meaning you dont get hooked, nomatter how long you been on opiates you can just walk away from them. But there is no such thing as not having any withdrawals.
Damn straight I have been a chronic pain patient for 17 years. I have been treated like a worthless junkie just for picking up my medicine that helps me walk. It's a huge embarrassment because other people have abused these drugs and made it a disaster for the people that are in pain and need it to live and have a somewhat normal life. I am a drug and alcohol COUNSELOR and I still get treated like my clients at times. Thanks to all the drug dealers and addicts for making it this way. Smfh!!!
V 4812 is a 30mg oxycodone otherwise known as Roxicodone.. If u hear anybody saying Roxicodone or Oxycodone they're talking about the same thing.. Some pro me know of them as oxycodone, some know it by roxicodone/roxicet n others know both names r in reference 2 the same medication..
Hi guys, I agree with all the crap we go thru and the expenses involved. What a money maker. Best pain killer I ever had was marijuana 40 years ago. If it was legal I would have it rather than the Oxycodone never new what was in the pills till now. I have chronic pain nsf from the allergy to the coloristic dye, that gave me kidney failure and the neuropathy of a 25 year diabetic. Relentless pain, I have stenosis, severe degenerative joint, herniated discs, rheumatoid arthritis, no fluid in joints, bone spurs in both shoulders knees and feet. Why can't I have cbd oil instead of the opiates that are destroying my liver and kidney? Hey I may be happier and complain less. They would lose billions without the pain centers and there would be no black market for these drugs. I take the blue 30mg oxycodine every 4 hours my friend takes green 30mg and she says they make her so sick but she has to take them. What's the difference? I agree they treat us like a addict what you gotta go thru for a little help. They only take the edge off but it's better than crying in pain all the time. There are some herbs that help. We are not the problem those who abuse are. I hate being treated like a addict. I cry in pain a lot pills run out in 3 hours takes 30 to 40 minutes to work. Out of every 4 hours I have a hour and a half of severe pain. I haven't slept in the bed for years and rock myself asleep on the couch. I went to a Crain Sacro therapist for 8 months and slept at a 45 degree angle in my bed last nite. I guess if you consider tolerable pain that's almost where I am at. herbs really help better now than the last 10 years waiting for medical marijuana for chronic pain suffers. The big pharma would loose too much money pain centers would be gone and those 2 grand diagnostics would be no more. I lived on the couch for 6 or 7 years. Don't give up there is hope. I pray a lot have a prayer cloth, I am better now than I have been in years. Still a lot of pain but research the therapist, it's like they align your body, touching you with the weight of a dime, amazing stuff. I still can't stand for more than a few minutes but can walk better and longer now. Gods love. Hope this can help someone. Don't give up.
Myself I do not experience them either. People think I'm crazy because I say I don't go through them.
Narcotics are prescribed a specific way for a specific reason. If you are one of us that need pain management and take your medicine AS PRESCRIBED,withdrawal will never be an issue. You will always have the dosage your doctor prescribed if taken properly.
You didn't withdrawal because you started taking another opiate called tramadol. Now stop taking opiates all your opiates and you will be in a world of hurt. Trust me.
You are a very rare person if you don't go through withdrawals when you stop cold turkey. I was forced to stop while transitioning from Houston to San Antonio and for those 2 weeks that I had nothing, I was in so much pain and the withdrawals were horrible, I wanted to die. I tried everything I could think of legally to help but nothing and I mean absolutely nothing out there helped. I almost lost my job because I could barely function at work. I would have to use the restroom close to 10 times in a 10 hour shift. It was unbareble. I had no appetite, no energy, I couldn't think straight and my body hurt everywhere. It was the worst thing I ever had to go through.
1000% the same thing, a roxy is percocet (oxycodone) instant release. Oxycontin is also the same, just time released. Also of course a roxy doesn't have tylenol in them, nore do oxycontin.
Oxycodone and Oxycontin are more different than just being IR vs ER. Do some basic research before talking s*** when you obviously don't have a clue as to what your talking about. SMH
