2172 Hydrocodone Acetaminophen-actavis/walgreens Complaint (Page 4)
UpdatedI too had my RX medication refilled (again) at Walgreens, but this time (When I did not take my RX Tylenol with it, like I always do) I noticed, that I have been given a different Brand of medication (A Generic Brand/MFG by-ACTAVIS). My "Norco-Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 5-325/TB" did not work as prescribed or even when I took 3 pills at one time (because 1 nor 2 pills didn't work/relieve my pain). I believe I have been given FAKE NORCO/Hydrocodone pills (white/#2172 on them) from Walgreens Pharmacy. Today I contacted the DEA & FDA via email and requested that they investigate my complaint as soon as possible.
Re: John H (# 58)
Unfortunately, “Patel” has every right to question any script he has been asked to fill especially if it is past the Doctor’s normal hours and you are unknown to him as a patient. Here is where there is a disconnect: Many pharmacists try to get involved in your treatment plan. The Pharmacist has no medical training to analyze medical information, especially information they do not have any access to. Pharmacists do not know your medical issues, they do not have access to it, and they do not have any right to get involved in you and your Doctors analysis of your medical issues but they do this anyway. Another problem is their attitude. Many of them are mean spirited and rude and the Pharmacy is fine with that. Anytime a Pharmacist can run off a pain pill customer they are applauded by their upper management. If they do not fill your script that means you are one less potential problem for them. Not only do I believe that “Patel” was not fired he probably got an “attaboy” from his Supervisors.
Everyone who need this meds should complain! First the medical field floods the market giving these pills out like candy. Now with people who need these pills and take them responsibly have to suffer because these pill have fillers in them!
I believe Placebo is the correct name for the fake Norco's, correct me if I'm wrong instead of nothing said, nothing done, business as usual? Meanwhile the majority of Pharmacist's are playing Dr no 2 as they question you and even sometimes actually call the Dr you just came from to question his practice process while some Pharmacists obtain all types of fake crap (and it is going around on the streets) and simply trade them in upon arrival at work:( Let's be real in these desperate times! Thank you.
Re: tony (# 62)
Who do you complain to? I don’t think they will listen. They are jerks.
Re: tony (# 62)
The problem is the re-engineering of the pain medications. For years manufacturers have been allowed to put 20% less active ingredient in their medications and now the manufacturers have reformulated the pills to not only have 20% less active ingredients but they have also removed 70% of the oxytocin’s in the medications in an attempt to remove the addictive properties of the pills. The problem is that when they removed 70% of the oxytocin’s they also removed the pain killing properties along with it. This is why you read about so many people saying that there is no pain relief in the newer medications. Unfortunately, this is the wold we live in right now. Do not blame one ideology over another because when I first noticed this problem coming to the forefront it was 2009. People all across the political spectrum is advocating for the abolition of pain medications altogether. The pendulum is just starting to swing back the other way and things are becoming more centered but it is going to take time. Anything screwed up over several years will not be centered in a couple of years. I am just starting to read articles by pain specialists saying that chronic pain patients should not be punished for the sins of the abusers but, however, we are. At least for the time being.
Re: Mejane (# 58)
Too often people believe they are losing their minds because what the manufacturers have done is not published generally (it is published in the Doctors handbook—PDR—- but not to the general public). This is why many have switched manufacturers on several occasions with the same results. The effectiveness (in an attempt to remove the addictive qualities) has been removed for the most part.
Re: cliff j (# 66)
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. It’s horrific, basically a barbaric act & worst thing without testing reformulation on legitimate CP patients. Definitely grounds for a class action suit. How dare they just change a medicine as if to deliberately flip with the result being a medicine that makes us sick on purpose. They won’t even publish the change, new one’s or less whatever the exact ingredients! What do we do??? How do we fight this? We write letters to gov’t, med professionals, FDA, DEA, CDC, we vent amongst ourselves but to what results?!? This is genocide.
Re: cliff j (# 61)
Mr Patel was involved with my rx and he knew me for 4 years. I got a lawsuit going against Walgreens and Patel as advised by my attorney. Bad pharmacist.
Re: John H (# 68)
I hope you have the financial resources to go through the litigation. This has always been an issue. Large companies have a legal office and deep pockets while regular people run out of money too fast. This is the strategy the large companies employ. Sometimes they offer a small settlement and then demand a non disclosure agreement. In the long run companies will stand behind their people especially when they have been given “unwritten instructions” by their superiors. Only if an employee is egregiously wrong will they not support them.
Re: Mejane (# 67)
What we have come to is a “perfect storm” of opposition from both sides of the aisle. This is why it is so difficult to get representation. The political climate is so awful that that no legal firm wants to touch this issue—even if you pay them their hourly fee. They are afraid of the political repercussions and the bad publicity from the public. Since the people in charge cannot get the criminally addicted they go after the low hanging fruit of the innocent chronic pain patient. They can then say “we are attacking the issue” when all they are doing is going after the innocent chronic pain patients, who, in the public mind (In General) are just as bad as the criminally addicted street addict. The pendulum is starting to slowly swing back because people are starting to recognize that if a problem is going to be corrected one must go after the real culprits. Not the innocent chronic pain patients.
Re: cliff j (# 65)
Thank you for sharing your brilliant research. I’d read about the oxytocin reduction but wasn’t sure til I read your synopsis if it was factual or not...now cuz of you we know.
As we’re the one’s caught up hopefully temporarily suffering til our meds are back to “normal” let’s work on finding an oxytocin replacement to take along w/our “sugar pills.” There has to be a holistic supplement &/or an actual oxytocin over the counter med?
Time for us to put our “Chemistry Class” hat’s back on & get through this together everyone! We are the CPP ARMY; let’s win this battle!
Re: Mejane (# 71)
As much as I would love to take credit for the oxytocin information it was pointed out to me by another poster and I researched it and found that it was so. The manufacturers do not want anyone to get an emotional uplift ( or high) when you take their pill so they engineered it out of their formulation for the most part. What they did not care about was when they engineered the oxytocin’s out they also removed a good portion of the pain relief. Since they were accused of making their pain pills so that people got a high from it for so long (that is what made them addictive)and because the political climate was right ( BOTH parties went along with it) they just re-engineered their pills thinking they would remove the addictive part of their pain pills and people would get the word and stop taking them recreationally. This is why everyone says their medications are just junk. If they controlled the pain they may be okay but they took out the oxytocin’s and removed the pain removal qualities along with the high normally associated with the pain pills. So what if the chronically ill pain patients felt better when they took their legally prescribed pain pills and did not abuse them? Too bad that the criminals that stole and/or took unprescribed pills ruined it for those that have a real medical need for it.
Re: John H (# 64)
Not only will they not listen they flat out do not care. They have been empowered by their upper management to be rude and abusive to the chronically, legally prescribed pain patients. Everyone that has a legal, and medically supported prescription is treated as if they were scamming the pharmacist. Even if you have been known to a pharmacy for many years they still treat you as if you are a drug addicted criminal.
Re: cliff j (# 72)
Exactly! And we are those chronically ill patients Cliff. For years we exhausted every surgery, procedures, remedies; suffered with painful test after test, resulting in failed, live with it diagnose’s. Pain Management our only alternative & percocet got me out of a wheelchair at 26 yrs old; I’m pushing 60 now & have been able to live a tolerable functioning life...then BOOM like overnight our lives were changed at no fault of our own. What if a diabetic had their insulin taken away &/or medically altered—-same thing for us when u compare apples to apples.
I could vent on & on, but now what’s vital is we find some way to balance this; there has to be an oxytocin replacement out there somewhere?!?

Here we go, WalMart! Check out this link...

Re: Mejane (# 75)
This talks about pets. The research I did on oxytocin’s does not address this issue at all. Did I overlook something?
Re: cliff j (# 73)
I am glad they closed the 24 pharmacy it hurts their business.
Re: cliff j (# 76)
No, for sure you didn’t miss a beat. You are so informed & really a big help to all of us!
I should’ve elaborated; I put that out there to say it seems pets get more care & access to meds than we do!
In researching oxytocin today I think I found a supplement that may help us to take along with our med called OXIBOOST. I ordered it & will keep you & all informed of results. It’s worth a try anyway.
Re: Mejane (# 78)
I just looked it up and it seems promising. If I can find it I will try it. Thanks for the info.
Re: Cliff J (# 79)
AMAZON {aff link} has the OXIBOOST... $25.95 + FREE 2 day shipping. When you order be sure to check your order confirmation as soon as you receive it via email as they process orders within minutes. I had to have them redo my order cause 1st time around they “forgot” to apply the FREE shipping ;)
