20mg Vs 40 Mg Of Viibryd

I have been on Viibryd since Nov 1 2011. I began with the started pack (10mg/7 days , 20mg 7days then 40 mg). After being on it for 2 days my anxiety was TERRIBLE on the 40mg. I am now on 20mg and feeling pretty damn good...better than I have in years. Psychiatrist has agreed to keep me on 20mg and we will re-evaluate later.

My question is: are any of you on 20mg and staying there? If so, what are the pros and cons? How are you feeling...does it feel like that dose is enough?

I’ve been on Viibryd 20 mgs for two years, and my weight had stayed the same (150). I had even lost 20 lbs with cleansing and exercise. I was thrilled and maintained a weight of 130 for six months with exercise and not counting calories.

During some family drama, I requested to be bumped up to 40 mgs. Within two months, I had gained 9 lbs. back!!

I believe the extra Viibryd caused increased anxiety which led to nervous eating and also a craving for sugar and alcohol. I refused to go on like that, so my doctor agreed to decrease the dosage.

I’ve been back down to 20 mgs for 12 days now and the weight gain has stopped, so has my anxiety, my nervous eating and cravings. Hopefully I’ll shed these extra lbs soon!!!

I just think 40 mgs is too much for some people. I feel much calmer on 20 mgs.

So you had to get 2 prescriptions to equal 30? I’m on a thirty pack right now, but wondering how I will keep it up when the pack is gone.

How long were you on 30mg before you started to feel a bit better? I'm just on my 3rd day. My doc will evaluate me at the end of one week.

Great in the gene sight! Yes I had relief at 30 but it wasn't perfect. Hang in there. I promise it'll get better.

Hi. I got the results of the Genesight test and Viibryd is on the green list. I'm praying that it will work for me. I'm on my 2nd day of 30mg. I do still experience some anxiety. Did you notice any improvements at 30mg? Thanks.

Never felt high or euphoric. Felt tired at 40, where I am now. I think you've been searching too much on the internet. Give it a rest. It'll only cause more worry for you. Just try to relax over the holiday and be positive. You'll be back to normal again soon.

Hi. I just started on 30mg and my doc wants me to stay on it for a week to see how I feel on it, then he'll decide whether to up me to 40mg. Do you feel this sense of feeling tired or high or euphoric? I experience that and wondering if that's one of the side effects at least for the time being on Viibryd.

Total. About 3-4 months. At 20/29 since 2 months ago. I feel good. Just get more tired now.

The Citalopram is another antidepressant that I have been on for many years. My doctor's plan is to get me off of that once I become stable with the Viibryd. The Viibryd is an adjunct to the Citalopram. I pray it helps me. Do you feel pretty close to normal now? How long total have you been on Viibryd? Thanks again.

It'll work. But you shouldn't need the other medication. I'm guessing it's similar to Ativan.

I'm currently on 40mg Citalopram in addition to the the Viibryd. My doc wants me try 30mg for two weeks in order to smoothly transition to 40mg instead of a big jump. I'm praying it will help within that time frame. Thanks.

I'm female from Ohio. Age 41. I was never on 20 alone. I was titrating off Zoloft onto Viibryd. You'll be fine. Just talk to your doc and let him know if you're not feeling good a few days after the 30 mg. It's fast acting and you'd know within 4-5 days if that dose works for you. Were you on anything previously?

But you weren't feeling any better at 20mg correct? I'm going to 30mg in a couple of days. Also you are male or female. My doctor says most of his male patients are on 40mg.

And if you don't me asking, where are you from? Thank you for all your advice on this.

I went from 20 to 30. I was okay on 30 but had bad dreams and felt kinda anxious in mornings. So that's when my doc put me on 20/20. I've been at that dose for over 2 months and I feel great.

I'm 5 days into 20mg with minimal relief. My doc is now putting me at 30mg for a couple of weeks then 40mg after.

So when you were only at 20mg total a day you did not experience relief it was only at 40 mg split into two dosages of 20 that you started to feel better?

I also just took the Genesight test.

I think 5 days you'd see relief. But you're not. So call your doc so you can increase. I got relief once I did 20 in AM and 20 in Pm after a few days.

I'm in my 5th day of 20, not yet 2 weeks. Do you think I need more time? Also, when you were at 20, did you feel any relief? Or was it until you went to 40mg 20 in the am and 20 in the pm that you started feeling better? Thanks.

You said you were on 20. So, I am recommending that you contact your doc to increase your dose. If you've been on 20 for 2 weeks and no relief then 20 isn't working for you.
