2017 Adderall Not Working (Page 2)
UpdatedI've noticed that the last three years in a row around this time either at the Adderall generic Sandoz brand is on backorder or suddenly the pills don't have the same affect. So in essence the pharmacy and drug manufacturers I getting paid while patients suffer without the proper medication. Has anyone else had this happen this month? I am taking the Adderall generic 30 milligrams twice a day I feel like I haven't taken anything.
Re: Shim (# 4)
I take 20mg per day of Sandoz Adderall XR. Day before yesterday all was ok. Yesterday I filled my new prescription. and took a pill and nothing happened. Infact, I fell asleep for 4 hours. Thinking it is some fluke, I took one today morning and again nothing is happening. All the ADD symptomatology is showing up and even worse.
Doctor says he does not know what to do. Pharmacist says pill is great, as if he is taken it personally or done an analysis on the product.
What is going on with this? This drug was first made in 1860s I think.
Does anyone know what to do? Is the physician supposed to issue a new prescription for a different variant.
Thanks to anyone that can help.
Re: Aaron (# 21)
Unfortunately, there's no way for the doctor to know for sure that you're not just trying to get more pills to sell or abuse. When I've had issues with bad generics in the past, my doctor would count how many pills i had left and flush them all down the toilet. Only then would he write a fresh prescription.
Since just about everyone can't stand just about any of the generic for Adderall IR, I am seriously thinking about trying the brand-name. However, I am not sure it is actually available.
Ironically, at one time it was actually manufactured by Teva
I do not think they still manufacture it.
Could anyone provide commentary regarding this?
Re: James (# 23)
You're right. There is no brand name IR Adderall as of now. Teva makes an "authorized generic" of IR Adderall, but its just the regular Teva sugary pills which do absolutely nothing for me.
Brand name XR however does exist, and it is manufactured by Shire.
There is a pharmaceutical company called Global that is now manufacturing Adderall IR.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Hi there. I am in the same boat as everyone else. It's so frustrating to go through this every month. I have tried just about every generic and here's the deal....
I have found that Corepharma and Sandoz brands to work well with little to no side effects. Sandoz is hard to find and Corepharma is in fact a done deal... no longer making it. Some places still have inventory left.
During the past three months I have had the following:
July - Teva 20mg IR ( I found this to be very weak and found myself yawning )
August - Corepharma 20mg IR (Again, this manufacturer works well for me and does exactly what it should do...smooth, optimal focus, no side effects)
**September - Aurobindo 20mg IR ( This was the ONLY thing available at most places so I said screw it and gave it shot. Despite what most have said, I was PLEASANTLY surprised with the results. I would actually say it's better than Corepharma in terms of optimal focus, positive mood etc.. )
I would rate them like so:
1. Aurobindo
2. Corepharma
3. Sandoz
4. Teva
I have NOT tried Mallinckrodt Generic but that seems to have the most consistent BAD, TERRIBLE feedback so I hope the notes above help you out.
I will also say that altering the dosage 10mg vs 15mg vs 20mg does make a difference from brand to brand in terms of how effective it is.
Good luck and keep us posted on your findings!

Re: Shim (# 4)
You are 100% correct! There is NO medicinal value. Period. It really is a crime! Who else in America can set up a billion dollar industry giving sick people "supposed" medicine, yet all they really have in their bag are Smarty candies in a medicine bottle?
Re: Mouse1021 (# 5)
Have you tried other IR generics at all? Specifically Mylan, Mallinckrodt, or Actavis?
I've only ever taken generic Corepharm, Teva Barr (when it was one company) and Sandoz. Sandoz has been my preferred - smoother on and off than Corepharm, longer lasting. Corepharm also gave me heart palpitations while Sandoz did not. Don't even get me started on the Teva Barr!
But apparently, Sandoz is being discontinued, so. :/
Re: Dave (# 25)
Hi Dave. It was my impression from looking at the info on DailyMed that Global is not a manufacturer, but rather just a repackaging company.
Re: James (# 6)
Absolutely James! Teva Adderall teva anything is the best. Great quality great prices.....MIC DROP
A few weeks ago my CVS in NYC had it on back order. I got prescription filled for 20mg IR TEVA mfg and working better than the Coerpharma.
I certainly have!! I can take 3-20 mgs tablets & cant really tell I’ve taken anything! All I do have is lots of anxiety! So Frustrating!!
I agree however you're taking the M 30's which are 20MG IR's not 30 MG fyi....
I thought the same thing. They don't do a thing for me anymore. I could take a 30mg tablet (Yellow) every 4-5 hours and I'm still clouded and exhausted. It used to be the Orange 30mg that seemed that way but anymore it's just Adderall in general. I thought I had a crazy high tolerance or something.
I have been taking x2 adderall IR 20mg tablets, x2 adderall XR 30 mg (brand) capsules and 1x wellbutrin xl 150mg tablet each day, all at the same time usually in the morning about 8:00 am. Then around 1:00 pm I suddenly feel like its out of my system, causing me to feel really irritable and have rebound symptoms. I have tried to spread the dose out through the day, but that ends up just being half as effective although it lasts slightly longer. I have been on this same exact dose for 3 1/2 years now, and its nothing like it was back then. I take the NAME brand IR and XR. but turns out brand name is by f***ing TEVA pharmaceuticals, the exact same company that churns out the notoriously low quality generic football-shaped orange tablets.
Also, my psychiatrist won't up my dose at all, being how I'm already above the recommended daily maximum dose of 60mg. Either I just am f****ing special or TEVA has been fabricating knock-off cheap substituted amphetamine salts and not the real thing. I tried eating less acidic foods, which seems to actually help. Taking tums or eating baking soda also increases your baseline stomach ph so that the amphetamine is absorbed more, and not just melted away and excreted in urine. I take a total of 100mg (sometimes I even take 1/2 tablet of the 20mg extra later on in the days I need it). Yeah I know people are going to question why I am on such a ridiculously high dose, well I've been on it for years. The only thing i can tell is when I don't take it, then I feel s***ty and hungry and tired. Also, you can get your prescription up to 4 days earlier than the date on the bottle says; the pharmacy allows up to 4 days early.
Re: Verwon (# 1)
I have noticed the same thing. I am on 30mg 2x per day. Last year, I thought 20mg wasn't working anymore and she boosted my dose to 30. But it doesn't work at al like it used to. I had an old 10 mg non- extended release version and took it. It worked better than the 30 mg.
- Exactly bottle label: D-Amphetetamine Salt Com ER (XR) 30 mg C
- Generic equivalent of Adderall 30 XR mg
- Mfg Prasco
- Capsule is orange and white and says M Amphet salts.
I personally have always found Sandoz as having a very weak product… Their Adderall IR generic.
Teva, which was horrific for the last six months, has improved within the last 2 to 3 months in terms of efficacy and potency
Hey there.
When you guys post an update or say which generic is or isn't working, can you provide a few details?
1. Manufacturer
2. XR or IR? Include the mg and a description of the pill (color, shape, etc.)
3. ***PHARMACY NAME***
4. What month/year did you fill your prescription?
4. Your location, if you are comfortable with that, on the off-chance we are close and can then be guaranteed to know the manufacturer
Because if one of the generics works better than others, and it is available at a chain pharmacy, usually it is consistent throughout the whole chain and that will make it easier for all of us to get a hold of that manufacturer's Adderall, or to avoid it if we don't like that manufacturer.
Thanks :)
PS: I'm hearing rumors of Sandoz Adderall IR returning to the market. If somebody can confirm this, what pharmacy are you using?
This end of 2017 and BEGINING of this 2018 I've been taking the Sandoz brand generic for Adderall 20's and I really noticed a sudden change I'm usually a Teva brand user, ones that taste like a Bayer aspirin sorta, those are octigon shaped, are my favorite brand...I went and got Sandoz brand and they're next to taking nothing... pharmacy said they take what they get...well my pharmacist usually orders me the Teva brand this time he wasn't there someone else told me we take what we get...next appointment I'm requesting the Teva brand Sandoz isn't anything what it's cracked up to be...ppl are all different, but not about this situation...when you need something for your ailments you'd like them to work for you...!
