2012 Oxycodone 30mg Shortage In Florida (Page 41)

My spouse, who is in severe, chronic pain, has been a customer of Walgreens for many years. We live in Pinellas County, Florida. Everyday this week we have driven from Walgreen's to Walgreen's trying to fill his prescription for Roxicodone 30mg, to no avail. I cannot get any help from his regular pharmacy. I know that it's dangerous for them to tell a total stranger which store has them in stock, but I don't understand since they know him, why they can't call around or give us any assistance. I am at a total loss as to what to do & would appreciate any information that you could provide. It is so hard to see him in so much pain. Thank you.

Got Oxy 15's at CVS Cortez and Mariner in Spring Hill this morning. They should have some left.

@MIss Karen you sound the biggest addict on here! You feel sorry for my kids! Only an addict and not someone acctually in pain would say something so Ignorant, So because of my age I should not be in as much pain as anyone else I have metal in my hip rod in my leg, and could go on for days! How dare you judge me! What your an old hag so your back hurts from sitting at a desk for 20 years more then me or whatever! You feel sorry for my kids, first off, MY 15 YEAR OLD SON IS AN HONOR ROLE STUDENT, PLAYS FOOTBALL, AND WRESTLES, AND HAS NEVER ONCE BEEN IN TROUBLE IN OR OUT OF SCHOOL! People that are ignorant like you are the same reason this problem exsists, cause what did you just do??? You stereotyped me because of my age not my condition! And then have the nerve to say basically I am a bad father cause I take same meds as you. Did these pills i see you hunting and begging for make you a bad mother? We'll thats if someone felt sorry enough for you to have a kid with you! UGGGH I can not stress enough that you can sit behind a computer screen as pharmacist do there counters and judge people they do not even know! You make me sick! So basically you are saying you are a terrible person cause you are taking prescribed medication, or its okay cause you are an old hag? And I get my medication from a Neurologist, not even a pain management place Cause he has done six surgeries on me, you heartless WENCH! I am a 100% Service Connected Disabled Veteran and have been on Oxy Extended and Instant Release for years. I had never missed a Script being filled until TODAY.... I live in Hernando County and find out that the Pharmacies will no longer fill My Scripts because My Dr. has a Tampa Address I went to every Pharmacy I could find only to be told that Oxy is not being shipped.

Now, Withdrawl is doing it's dirty deed and I cannot see My Dr. until the 16th to have the Perscription re=wrote for something else. I am Angry at the Selfishness and FEAR which "FUEL" the DEA and other Government Agencies live under because They cannot come up with a METHOD by which these Meds can be HONESTLY dispensed. This is NOT My Fault.
Thanks for throwing those of Us Who are all in this same boat to the Wolves of Withdrawl.

Just trying to help.I know it is tough.I have been on them for 13 years.Never had trouble getting them at Sweetbay but when I lost my Insurance I could not afford them Iwas on 80mg controlled release and 30mg for break through.and the prices were unreal so I had my doc switch me over to Morphine 100mg and 30mg for btp.Good luck out there but I think the people wanting oxycodone and just that I know it works great but Morphine works also you just have to get a higher strenght and maybe an extra one a day.I agree your going to have to work with your doc there is a lot of people selling their oxy and making alot of money,so who is to blame?

@UFC...will do. I will have to try today though because tomorrow my insurance will change and I will no longer be able to fill there. Thanks for the help though!!! If I am successful, I will post here and let everyone know.

Try sweetbay supermarkets.I never had any trouble even when I worked inOrlando where my doc was and I filled in Tampa sweetbays.Get to konow your pharmasist there and you wont have any problem.If for some reason they are out they will order them for you and it will be there in 2 days.always try to keep e few spares if you have to wait.Good luck.Sweetbay in Riverview on highway 301.

Try Sweetbay supermarket pharmacy.I never have trouble getting it there if they are out they will have it in 2 days max and also my doc was in orlando cause I used to work there and live in Tampa and never had any problems with that situation at all.

That's the key word... some. I've tried other tx's including epidurals. No one can be grouped into one category. Everyone's different, and I'd welcome anything that would give relief besides meds. As many have said, we were regulars with Walgreens too. I disagree with all people wanting what they want. It's needing what they need.

Well....I actually go back, and read each post that was written, so I have an idea where people are coming from that post on here, and, I have actually listed where I got my oxycodones filled when I did find them....although, I found out, since, they would only fill for me, because I'm a "regular". I'm an RN that used to work with my pain Dr. Prior to my cancer recurrence in my bone. He tells me about all the patients he has to kick out of his practice, because they refuse alternative tx...etc. After reading stories on here, I understand why . Some people won't work with their docs.... They want what they want, period....

Nah man ill I'm sayin is in the meantime switch and quit b***in,I got the inside scoop pretty much they are done distributing roxis to floorida,and now Georgia,my brother in laws a pharmacist in fl west palm are an its a c.v.s,he says they were told by distrubter they won't be receiving any shipments of 15,s or 30,s until further notice,I just don't wanna hear ppl saying they wasted 6 hours 100$ in gas blah blah when its pointless this has been goin on for wat 4 months.. I love the medication as well but unfortunately its time to find something else to love... not being a dick but my god when your BEATyour BEAT...I NO IT SUKS,I BEEN ON THEM SINCE 2005...

I'm also in the same boat ..north. Tampa here was going. To the Walmart for them to tell me sorry. Were no longer have. Those. In stock ..it would have been nice to have them offer some type of suggestion to us..mad world out here at least 500 new. pacents looking for a place to fill with this madness out here any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I'm so sick of you Hollier than thou complex people! We all know someone who has been addicted to one or more things in our life! We have all been pissed off because of the way it may have effected our life! BUT... Do any of you remember: #.1 DON'T JUDGE TIL YOU HAVE WALKED IN THEIR SHOES. #.2 TREAT PEOPLE HOW YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED. #.3 IF YOU DON'T HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY NICE OR HELPFUL TO SAY, DON'T SAY NOTHING AT ALL. Some people have forgotten how to be a human being, we are all a little or allot desensitized from so many things i cant list them all. We all need to come together and regroup and get back to basics! And a great start would be with Donna at the STATE CAPITAL In TALLAHASSEE SEPTEMBER 12 Th. LETS GET IT DONE TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!

You know Nick, you're preaching to the choir here...I have been on roxy 30's for several years, I didn't want to give them up either, hell no!! But you need a reality check if you think at 36, you're going to be able to live the rest of your life on roxy's, ....I feel sorry for your kids, .....

Hi Miss Karen, Panicnpain,others who check alot.... just checkin back to see if any progress is being made....Can you get to Donna Ratliff's facebook page,guys? She has a day reserved at the capitol and I am going!!!!! If I can get on her site. I found her, requested friending, and that was 2 weeks ago.....you all havin any probs with methadone this month? I am still shocked about being lied to, to my face, and then filled, but I am fully expecting to be turned away on the 6th. God Bless you and hope things are getting better? K

I'm with you on the North Tampa issue with oxycodone 30 mg. Been with my local Wal-Mart for quite a while now and no problems filling, then this month (July, 2012)...we have them on backorder...not getting our orders in, then just this past Friday was told they were not to expect them "anytime soon." What is a person supposed to do?

@Shylark, damn well first not everyone can handle different meds without getting sick! And second your not the only one who has been so briliant to try ad switch to the Oxymorphone or K 8's, but now they to are just as hard to fill. And good for you to be well versed in your pain medications but like I said Oxycodone is a miracle medication for most people who can sick off morphine and or makes them want to sleep all day! The point of this board is to help each other try to figure out a way to have theyre CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS ENVOKED AND FIND THE MEDICATION THAT BEST SERVES THEM! Or I am sure if it was just so easy to switch meds. then there would not be so many legit people in pain and in search for these pills that gave most of us a better quality of life! I feel bad for everyone going through this but I feel even worse for those of us with children who do not understand why mom or dad are in bed more or stressed out, or unable to play with them like we were so much easier 6 mons. or so ago! I know people hate giving out where they find them if they do but I think we should help each other by telling where in Florida they live I am in Naples but Dr. is in Ft.Myers. So I know 2 places in Naples where to fill but I cant cause My dr. is not in this county which is crap cause its bout 30 miles away! If anyone needs place in Naples fl. hit me up and I will help you! If anyone could help me in Ft.myers area please do so! And if anyone has been successful using any mail order let me know! I was using Walgreens Mail service for 6 mons. but 3 mons. ago without notice I sent my scripts in only to have them hold them loose them and I was told only then that I needed Insurance well I asked well what kind do I need only for them to say you have to ask your provider if you qualify for our mail service! I shipped to express scripts 2 mons. ago after talking to them on the phone for an hour and them guaranteeing they were gonna be able to ship them to me only for them to do the same exact thing! So please share info. any mom and pop in Lee county anywhere would be greatly appreciated!
