(2) 15mg Oxycodone's Vs. (1) 30mg Oxycodone

My doctor prescribed me (60) 30mg. Oxycodone's. But my pharmacist gave me (120) 15 mg. pills as a substitute. My question is will (2) 15 mg. pills have the same effect as (1) 30 mg. pill?

I agree with 15 mg has noneffective at all military tried half of a 30 mg I felt no pain for several hours

Roxanne - listen here. First off it's none of your business what I, or anyone else in this world takes as medicine. I don't think you're in the DEA but you may be because they are filled with stupid ass **** ******s that sound like you. You're not a f***ing doctor, obviously your not intelligent enough to become one. You probably don't even have your high school diploma because you sound like an ignorant b**** from your one post. I honestly hope you get in a severe accident and it causes you horrible pain for the rest of your life like some of us. Hopefully you really injure your back or any type of chronic pain injury. And I hope you get a horrible piece of s*** doctor who feels like you do right now about pain patients. I hope he just recommends physical therapy that just makes the pain worse. Then you try spinal inj's. that do absolutely nothing but cause more pain. And the doctor only gives you Tylenol 800mgs and you have soo much pain you take bunches of them. And all the Tylenol you take ruins your liver. Then he recommends back surgery to fix your issues. You have the back surgery and it ends up making you paralyzed for the rest of your life and all that you can feel is pain. And finally, you end up dying due to all the damage the Tylenol did to your liver. That is exactly what you deserve you low life piece of s***. I usually say I don't wish my pain on anyone, but I do wish it for you. I wish it on you because stupid ****s like yourself that have no idea what it's like to live with chronic pain everyday run their mouth about something they have no idea about. People like you want to make it damn near impossible for me to live a somewhat normal life so I can work. You want to make it impossible for us to get our needed pain medication. So yes for you Roxanne, I hope you get in a horrible accident tonight. I don't hope you die, I hope you suffer with chronic pain. And die in terrible pain from all the bulls*** people like you have caused in medicine today. Goodnight.

Roxanne, the first thing I'd like to know is whether you drink alcohol, smoke cigs, etc ... Actually just alcohol ... Before you go calling people nasty names because they take a pain med. People, by the way, that you don't even know. You ought to get your head out of the other end. The most abused useless drug there is (in my opinion) is ALCOHOL. HOW dare you judge what you apparently have no experience in. Not all drinkers are alcoholics. Not all those that take pain meds are drug addicts. It's easy to throw stones when no one can call you to acct.

You are so wrong dude. Number one, you are not with the DEA, as they would never post to an f...ing blog! Number two, you have absolutely no business deciding that only cancer patients should be prescribed opiates. Yes, unfortunately they do end up in the wrong hands, people OD. Yes, that happens. However, I am a chronic pain girl and I just had my second back surgery, that is probably not going to get rid of all of all of my pain. I do not talk to anyone about being on meds. No gloating about it. I do not like taking them, but I would have absolutely no quality of life without these medications!

You will probably never see this, but your not the only one! I have the same problem a d go into withdrawals taking a less pill. The lower the mg the less effective.

Same here! Taking two 15mg morphine sulfate doesn't help. Taking one 30 mg does. I tried to explain this to my doctor but he wouldn't listen. Two 15s add up to 30. In his mind that's all that mattered

they slightly hit faster, because of the smaller dosage being metabolized by your cyp3a4 receptors at the same time however with the half Life of 3.5 hours is when I notice the biggest change... because a smaller mg upon half life even though it is two pills does not equal the same plasma bioavailability... so it's not the same... go to a different pharmacy

Na definitely not. Id Much rather hav 1 30 then 2 15s. No question about it. Mayb if u Just got prescribed that strength & have a low tolerance, but if you have been prescribed them for a while, you always get single.higest mg pill back....%100...rather get the30 back 4 sure!

Yes it is the same depending on what brand because different name brand has different amounts of fillers.

You do not see people on here talking about abusing drugs, and if you read carefully they have been legally prescribed for legitimate pain issues. We're not talking about how taking mass amounts, misusing or abusing like I've seen on other sites...this is a community where pain patients can ask others questions or concerns that they have. You shouldn't be so quick to judge, as not only cancer patients have pain. I was 40 yrs old when they thought I had Carpal Tunnel. I went thru 9 months of PT and had surgery. It ended up not being Carpal Tunnel, but Kidney Disease that caused chronic Gout, and Rheumatoid. My Gout is so bad my hand and feet have become deformed, my finger twice the normal size, pockets of uric acid everywhere so bad it was coming out of my skin. This is in every joint in my body and 2 years ago started to go to my tendons. I have severe degenerative disk disease and my L2 thru L6 are pretty much gone, and sitting on nerves. This is also in my neck. I don't deserve pain meds because I don't have Cancer? If you truly believe that, then I can only wish that some day you feel my pain. I have been on 10mg of Hydrocodone for 9 years, and I have beyond built up a tolerance, but because of all this crap my doctor will not up my script. I live in constant pain and because of people like you that think we're all abusing it will live this way for the rest of my life. So excuse me when I tell you to screw your thoughtless and stupid comments...you have no idea what you're talking about. I've seen websites, pages and forums where they are talking about abusing them and this is pain patients asking legitimate questions from other patients, and you'll see that it's stuff they've spoken to their doctor about. So if you'd like to troll drug forums, please find another because you comments are uneducated, rude and obnoxious!

I use to work at a psychiatric hospital many, many years ago. This may or may not be right. Sorry. My brain is not what it use to b. 1 doctor would not let parents get generic meds for the children that were his patients & I had to be the one to break the news to very angery & frustrated parents. He said that generic meds only had to have 80% of the actual meds in them & the other 20 could be crap. So, some companies took advantage of that and others had higher standards. Some, even had different amounts in the different doses or batches each time & he said that the other 20% could b scary stuff. So, some of my parents who were very poor & who's insurance refused to pay unless it was generic, he would let get the generic but only for some of the medication and only certain generic brands. For the parents who could not pay for the medications he refused to write generics for, he would actually change the medication all together or give them samples of the real thing to see if they worked for those children, before he would let their children take the generic. Everyone reacts different, especially with psych meds. If the real thing did not work, there was no reason for the parents to struggle to pay for it. Then, he would try something else, hopefully in a generic. He said some generics were almost poison. I personally do not take many generics. I don't know if that helps but it is all I can think of to explain why that might be happening to y'all.

It is the same as to the amount of Oxycodone, you will be receiving 30 MG of Oxycodone.
However it comes down to POTENCY-!
The 30MG is 2x the strength of a 15.
This is exactly why others here are trying to say but they do not understand why 1 (30) works way better than 2 (15s).
It does because it is more potent.
My Dr made take an opioid class before he would prescribe me them
Look at it this was, 800mg ibuprofen.
So if you take 4 200 MG ibuprofens are you get 800mg of it, yes you are getting 800mg of ibuprofen. So if that's the case, then why do you need a prescription for 800mg ibuprofen, you need a prescription because now you are get 800mg potency of ibuprofen not 200-!!!!
Hope this helps, any opioid specialist will tell you the same exact statement-!

You would have to see a pain management doctor this are prescribed to people with cronic pain of course they do prescribed to people with other issues but can only get from pain management doctor.

I'm sorry that on top of all the problems you have...some i**** who thinks like (Roxanne) is not only a i**** but a uneducated one at that!! It's not like we want to have to take medicine for fun..but we hurt and we don't need to hear crap about who is a failure as a human being. ..maybe when she is in hell..burning..she will cry for help with the never ending fire that will surround her!
