12 Days On Klonopin

I was put on klonopin by a new med. doctor, for severe panic attacks and anxiety, that was brought on by a number of serious family problems. I have also been on 40 mg. of Celexa for 10 yrs, and 150 mg of wellbutrin for about 8 yrs. The new dr. just upped my Klonopin to I mg, 3 times a day. He totally took me off of the wellbutrin, without tapering. He cut my Celexa dosage in 1/2, and added 60 mg of Cymbalta a day THis all seems a bit extreme and scary to me.I really do not like him or feel comfortable with him. I am going to see a new med dr next week, who works with a group my therapist is affiliated with. My biggest concern is the klonapin dose being upped so much.I have only been on it for 12 days, and I do not feel that it has helped me with nightly panick attacks.It p uhh rd me to sleep but only for a few hours, then I fight off the attacks and anxiety for the rest of the night.They also make me so lethargic and shaken that I really can not function.I don't want to take them anymore, but feel I should taper off at least until I see the new dr. Whataadvice can you provide? Anything will be appreciated.

I'm not a doctor, but I can only wonder if he might be thinking that he's trading off 1/2 a dose of Celexa for more Klonopin and trading Wellbutrin for Cymbalta, in order to prevent your tolerance from peaking after 8-10 years of Wellbutrin/Celexa use. That's the only thing I can think of that makes logical sense, but if you ask him he may have different reasoning.

I think you're doing the right thing though by wanting to taper off whatever meds aren't working first and foremost. As from what I've heard Klonopin does have some potentially serious withdrawal symptoms if you were to go cold-turkey.

Did you feel any noticeable differences after starting Cymbalta?
