10/325 Quailiest Verses Watson Verses White Or Yellow (brand Name Norco) (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

Hello Hydrocodone world:

My experience is this. You can not beat Name Brand scored NORCO 10/325. However, my experience is Watson is a softer compound, & works faster. Now, the other generic NORCO 10/325 (36 01) scored other side. This is made by QUAILITEST: many people say they suck, because in fact, it is a harder compound to digest/desolve, therefore not getting a good feeling,but the slight slower release makes Quailiest (NORCO) actually kill the pain more so than Watson (GENERIC) 10/325. The watson have the edge, however the Qualitiest last longer & are so dang close, only a Dog may know the difference. Personally me, & all the 4 companies that make generic NORCO can stick it. Your/My Dr. is going to request the yellow dye, I do get allergic reactions minor,but enough to b**** about. So I will be getting a lot of paper work, and I will end up getting Yellow NORCO, as long as the Dr. request patient has allergic reactions, not to the dye, but rather various fillers, as well. And me & My g/f have Identical insurance plans for meds. And the G/f got the real deal NORCOS. My Dr respects me & I respect my Dr. And dr.'s know the difference between spinal issues & hop heads or some of us have both. LOL (JOKE).

Now the HOT tip - NORCO Now makes two Brand name NORCO 10/325 , some will be yellow & or white. Watson makes NORCO ( BRAND NAME) wich are yellow. Also Watson now makes the 1/325 NORCO it is white.

Bottom line (brand name 10/325) you will start to see in white & yellow, as we are now seeing, allergic reactions to the yellow color dye. Also 10/325 NORCO are usually yellow, again they are moving to white tablets, and are currently selling both colored (WATSON GENERIC) norcos. Same goes for Brand name NORCOS, Yellow & white.

They are taking the yellow dye out both Name brand & watson brand NORCOS. You may see yellow & or white in your Watson 10/325 also Brand name 10/325

Ask your Dr for a over ride due to alergic reactions, most insurances will cover , if the findings of the request are found to be true. But now they are making the same company, same drug, Brand name & generic & in both white & or yellow (watch out for (CVS pharmacies) they carry s*** loads of s***, that is totally the s*** of all s*** & works like s***. Request brand name to your Dr & ask nicely & all the above will not apply. Watson's are etched in most peoples mind, however the Quailitest & watson are just how fast or slow the absorbtion rate/time to get into the blood stream. If you really want this Norco in your blood stream like instantly? LOL Check in to a 28 day drug rehabb & ask this? what is the fastest way to get any drug into my blood stream? Than youll be safe for 28 days, if they let you out. (JOKE).

It is crystal clear that the Qualitest yellow 325/10 Norco work for pain. The white Norcos are a waste of money and complete junk. So how long are the drug companies and pharmacies going to rip people off while making them suffer?? It's not right. Something needs to chance. Aren't we in the 21st century? Pain is real. Pain control is available. Anything else is plain cruel.

Kendra,

I can't and won't tell you what you feel with any medication, that's your body chemistry, and everyone's works differently. I can tell you that what everyone is complaining about is VERY REAL, not some brainwash color change only thing, as you describe. Anyone, like myself, that has been taking yellow Norco 10/325's for years, and has then tried the new white version, have been very, very, upset, and mad about the effects, not the color, but the way they, don't work to kill the ongoing chronic pain.

This is not imaginary, this is the real impressions and assessments by many, many people. I have seen very few posts from people that have been on the Norco for a long time that can't tell the difference instantly. The white Norco offer nothing for pain relief, and if you do get some from them, then your in a very small minority, and should count your blessings. Most people have had to dump their pharmacies to find the yellow ones again, and they are still being made and still available, but no longer carried by the major stores. The reason is simple, the white ones are much cheaper to purchase for the stores.

Yet, they sell them to the insurance companies and the government programs like Medicaid, for the same amount. In other words, theirs alot more profit margin for the stores when they carry and push these bogus white Norcos. If you don't believe that, ask them. My pharmacy manager explained it to me. They lost many old time customers when they stopped providing the yellow Norco. People left to find them. People all over the country are upset and rejecting these fake white ones. But, again, if they work for you, great. But, for most people, they are about as effective for pain as Tylenol.

Watson and quailitest are both generics for norcos you will see them both in yellow and white. Just recently I seen a yellow Watson 853 and a white Watson 853. But they are both generics it is odd tho Watson is actually the maker of the real "norcos" so they make a generic of there own pill ( the 853's) white or yellow

I picked up white Norco 10/325 yesterday and it's like taking a Tylenol. I took 2 pills and still nothing. My shoulder is injured with torn rotator cuff. I'm waiting for surgery. This sucks. I'm sick to my stomach. I feel like crap. What gives?? Last week I had yellow pills and I wasn't sick and could tolerate the pain. So not cool. I called the pharmacy and they said they don't make the yellow pills anymore. Just like that? What do I do? Suffer.

I just got off the phone with Walgreens. They sold me these white 10/325 Actavis Norcos that are worthless. The pharmacist told me I was building a tolerance to the med and that's why they are not working. She told me to take more of them, up to 12 pills a day if needed. What???? I couldn't believe she said that! I told her I took Qualitest yellow pills earlier this week before I ran out and they helped the pain and I only took them as prescribed. She said my pain tolerance is probably increasing due to physical therapy. What?? I didn't tell her I started PT yet. She said no patients ever complain about these pills. Because I mentioned the yellow pills indicates that I may be addicted!! Yes, she just said that. What the heck is going on. I know my body. These pills are crap. I'm pissed off. I have some older Vicodin from a few years ago that I'm taking now that are actually helping. I know these pills are junk and because I have pills from a few years ago should prove I'm not an addict!! Make the pain go away!!! Liars!! I called my doctor. It's Saturday so good luck Charlie.

Your awesome! to take it to that level and I feel for you completely, I've been through a lot myself, because of the fear that the FDA has put in these doctors, but all the while they're able to put people through crap like your case, I've been over looked, treated like a criminal or an addict and fel through the cracks or under treated many times because of the regulations now a days, it's not right for people like us who suffer with real pain every day, luckily after two years I've found a great pain specialist who understands that pain must be managed to live a functional exsistance, I'm not saying I still don't have symptoms but at least I can do some things.
Good luck and take care

Not sure whos making the white generic Norco. It could be Mallinckrodt , and probably is. I know the yellows are still made by Qualitest, and they still work good. Finding them is the challenge now. But, I wrote them and they have no plan to stop making them. When the government made Norco a schedule 2 drug this year, they put this drug in the same class as very strong pain meds like morphine sulphate, which is really dumb. So, one company making yellow Norco decided to get real gready and take advantage of the new law to line their pockets even more. Using the anti drug sentiment, they took their yellow Norco and reformulated it. The company line to the public is that all they did was remove the yellow dye and nothing else. Well, anyone that has taken Norco for a while can easily tell the difference between the new bogus white and the yellow.

But, this company used the new law and the governments scare tactics to their own advantage to pad their cash flow. They took out the active ingredients that kill the pain. This saves them alot of money. They tell the government and DEA what a responsible company they are in this war on drugs, and it's complete bs! They could care less how many people get strung out as long as the bottom line looks good.

But, they are now pushing useless pills on the public and most people buying the generics are on some form of government health program, like Medicaid or Medicare and this is one big ripoff on the American taxpayer! This company is selling worthless drugs to the American taxpayers with chronic pain. They are making billions from the federal programs and pushing useless medicine on people. I have written this company, Mallinckrodt, to complain about these white Norco when they first came out, and my local pharmacy gave me them instead of my yellow ones.

They contacted the pharmacy and, that pharmacy has seen a huge drop in business as people are leaving them to go where they have the yellow pills. Hopefully, everyone will do this, and the pill maker will go back to making the pills the right way. Otherwise, just don't accept them. Before the pharmacy gives you the pills, ask if their yellow. If not, just refuse them and go some place else. Just call around, there out there. Eventually, the pill maker will make the change back. They scammed the feds and all of us, and it's time we simply pushed back and refuse to take the white Norco. They are good for nothing but a mild headache.

Subject: Denied legitimate pain medication prescriptions over 2 years

6/19/3015: Pharmacist "not comfortable giving me the pain medicine and jeopardize his license" (my pharmacy manager did the review and ordered my monthly prescription which was in the safe with my name on it - suffered 10 days with pain meds and it cost me to have hit home delivered. This now goes on monthly.

11-2014 to 1/2/15: videos of being denied filling legitimate medically necessary prescription

6/2/13: Walgreens has my records for over 20 years for my severe chronic pain medications. In December 2012 and now again last week of May 2013, I was unable to fill my monthly prescription; Walgreens’ response (many different ones):

(1) not in supply;
(2) on back order;
(3) no idea when Oxycodone 10 will be available;
(4) distribution center has their request;
(5) was lied to by the many Walgreens’ pharmacies I physically went to;
(6) Walgreens’ Corporate office in Tempe Arizona has “no control”;
(7) (Reuters) - The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) said it shut down shipments of controlled substances from Walgreen Co's (WAG.N) Florida distribution facility on the suspicion that highly addictive painkillers were being diverted to the black market.

At Walgreen's, they have no supply, won't know when they will. I should be able to get it at any Walgreens nationwide; after going to 15+ stores, my normal script was refused. I'm not on Day 6 of Oxycodone withdrawal, no options - no hope of managing my disabling pain. I contacted Walton, the manufacturer of Percocet (Oxycodone) who have no shortage and able to supply any pharmacy. WE NEED TO FILE A LEGAL CASE AGAINST THE PHARMACIES AS WELL AS THE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES WHO INCLUDED ALL PAIN PATIENTS IN THEIR "DRUG DIVERSION" program (PDMP), including Florida's Governor, State Attorney, the DEA, CSA, NIDA, DOH, AHCA, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations that is responsible for "rolling back prescription drug diversion & by passing HB 7095 during the 2011 Florida legislative session ...banned dispensing of Schedule II & III controlled substances by physicians... added several critical criminal violations to support enforcement,..." which is a result of the PDMP (Prescription Drug Monitoring Program). I believe all entities responsible have abused their powers, including discrimination, violated and failed to protect legitimate pain sufferers' civil rights, tortiously interfered with & invaded our right to privacy & ability to receive proper medical care, caused us additional pain & suffering, anxiety, fear, undue duress and stress, as well as numerous other damages, both financial and physical. Also failed to properly protect all physicians who have not broken any laws in providing their patients with the best medical care they are entitled to. We have lost qualified, law abiding physicians many of which are unable to continue to practice under the deficient "Plan" to divert medications and various regulations placed to reduce criminal activity. For over 40 years, law enforcement has never been successful in deterring illegal drugs & this PDMP may alter how criminals will continue their business; BUT IT DID SUCCEED IN SERIOUSLY AFFECTING LAW ABIDING CITIZENS who are now being treated like criminals & became victims of their regulations and policies.

Not your business -

Who are you talking about? Did you post in the right thread? I see nobody talking about weight problems here. This is about Norco and the lack of them. Also, to those that are finding easy access to the yellow Norco, be very thankful, as in the West, they are getting very tough to find.

I got the yellow Norco 10/325 today and was I right! Pain in my shoulder is manageable!! Holy mackerel! I wasn't crazy. The other Norco brands are crap hence why Walgreens told me to take 12 a day to make up for the difference in strength that these Qualitest have. I bought these at Target. Vons have these too.

When some Senator or Congressman gets in a car wreck and is given a rx for Norco and they give him these white things, THEN, maybe we will see some change back to all yellow. The DEA somehow convinced themselves that switching the ingredients will help fight the addiction problem in this country. Right! Hell, you can get opiates for much less then these pills, so how is it helping? A real junkie wants a lot more "pain relief" than any Norco can deliver.

Sheila - I've had no choice but to have my dr prescribed Brand Name Percocet and he has to write on the Rx "BRAND NAME MEDICALLY NECESSARY". So, it not only costs more but it has to be "reviewed" since my insurance has a contract with Walgreens, then it has to be specially ordered for me. Then my pharmacy mgr needs to put it into the safe with my name on it so no one can dispense to someone else. I am currently sending a statement with videos I took being lied to, denied, refused, etc. by Walgreens to a reporter covering this issue: Matt Grant, WESH TV, who will be at a hearing 8/10/15 FLORIDA BOARD OF PHARMACY MTG Re: Issues associated with patients filling prescriptions for Controlled Substances.
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH - Board of Pharmacy
Also have a complaint to file with Florida Dept of Health. I am now looking at a Complaint against Actavis re: Opana in New Jersey - have a lot to do but will be back

it stinks that we have to have a form like this to discuss which ones are good and which ones aren't. also sucks that many insurances won't cover name brand norco. at least mine doesn't.

I too had terrible side effects from generic Watson norco when it changed to white. I have been taking quality st for almost 2 years with no complaints. Got my new prescription filled and to my horror I am experiencing the same effects that I did from white watsons. My pharmacist said this was a brand new bottle. That means qualitest have changed the formula now too. I am just sick about this and don't know what to do now. Nausea dizziness and extreme sleepiness with hot flashes. What are they doing to us? Has anyone else noticed the change in quality st yet?

Rob, are yours qualitest brand? I took them for 2 years with no problems until last refill. I got sick even went to doc for blood work before, I realized it was the same side effects I had from white watsons. Pharmacist said it was a brand new bottle. They must have done something to them. I had to switch to brand name, which coincidentally are white and made by Watson or activists who bought Watson about the time they changed to white. I called activists and they said name brand are exactly the same as generic but they have some other added ingredients which are proprietary secret. So crazy. No telling what they are putting in them. Fillers are generally made in 3rd world countries and are not strictly regulated. I am also buying the abuse deterrent theory.

Yes, Qualitest, yellow. Same as always-The white ones are junk imo-your problem may be something else. I would have it checked.

Re Percocet/Activis - Due to severe chronic pain syndromes, I've been on Percocet for years; had severe reactions when Activis took over Watson and now can only take brand name - the cost is unbelievable; I filed complaints with Activis, the FDA, the State of Florida, the DEA, etc., as much as I could. This is not a "new" drug which pharma charges for their "R&D"; chronic pain patients are running out of options and I believe this is a constitutional issue as the government allows pharma companies to adversely affect our health and those in power have allowed "abuse deterrent" meds which have no value whatsoever to those in need be the main issue rather than protect our right to quality healthcare and doctors who would otherwise treat us are disappearing because of fear of being investigated and/or arrested to treat and manage pain patients or anyone who is released from surgery, dentists, all forms pf painful diseases. I sign petitions whenever I can - this is a valid cause for so many people but an issue we rarely see in the media until a person finds themselves sufffering in pain.

I woke up in severe pain. My pain was gone with 2 yellows but it was too much so I could only take 1 1/2 at a time. I took 2 whites and I feel NOTHING. I know this is a scam. I'm pissed off and in so much pain!! What do I do? My doctor is going to think I'm crazy! I would rather take 2 5/325's at this point. I want to cry. This is not good medicine. Do the doctors know this is happening??
