.1 Clonidine Used As Necessary

Does anyone have experience in using .1 Clonidine on an as needed basis for someone who has good blood pressure usually but spikes up once or twice a month?

If so, has it been successful?

Well, the issue here is your not knowing when it is going to spike, nor how high it may spike, which of course creates the risk of heart attack, or stroke.

If you have hypertension, you need to take a medication all the time, in order to get in under control.

If you don't have hypertension and it is only raising occasionally, then that is perfectly normal. Our blood pressure will fluctuate throughout the day, depending on various activities.

The blood pressure is good except for a twice a month when it spikes over 200. Won't the clonidine control that for those few occasions? By taking one's blood each day a few times and at least in this case when it becomes very high it is evident.

Is there anyone who is in this particular situation using clonidine as needed?
