The dosage information I found for Azithromycin states that (500 mg) should be taken orally on the first day followed by (250 mg) orally once a day on days 2 through 5 (which adds up to 6 pills in total). If you have a cold, it is caused by a virus, not a bacterial infection, so antibiotics aren't appropriate and will do nothing to treat it.
