I need to know how long Stugeron is good after the expiration date on the front has passed. I have a pack here that says "exp 2 2013". I'm traveling soon so I would like to know if these pills will still work for me or not. Thanks! ## @Allyouneedtoknow, Not all expired medications are bad, but I think it's good that you took the time out to check first since some can be dangerous (i.e. tetracycline). According to a drug monograph I read, Stugeron has an estimated shelf life of 3 years. I also found out that it does not require any special storage conditions like most other meds do. So you should be fine to take it until 2016 based on that info alone. I don't know if at what point it can begin to diminish potency, however other drug studies by Harvard University sugge...
Can someone tell how long can atarax stay good for please??? ## Hello Med01, Based on my research, U.S. prescription medications are required to have a mandatory expiration date of 1 year from the date the prescription is filled. After a year is up, the medication should still be safe but it will start to lose its potency and can no longer be as effective. However, there are some medications that can become dangerous after they expire. That being said, it's best to not take any medication after its expiration date. Do you have the package that the Atarax came in, or do you remember when the prescription was filled? You can learn more about this drug on the page for Atarax Details I hope this info helps! ## The date is 2011 it's still in the bottle it came in I just wasn't s...
What is expiration date on Fentanyl patch with lot number 267722 ## Are there any expiration dates or other numbers printed on the packaging? This website doesn't manufacture any products, nor is it affiliated with any manufacturer and the lot number is a number that's internal to the manufacturer, so it really doesn't provide information to anyone else. Who is listed as the manufacturer? I can probably find you contact information, so you can contact them and check the expiration date. Learn more Fentanyl details here. Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
I purchased this in Mexico. The pill is red and white capsules 500mg. Do they expire? ## Hello, Virgie! How are you? If you've opened the packaging or they are in a pharmacy dispensing bottle, they will have a one year expiration date. However, if they are still sealed in the original factory bottle, then they will last approximately 2 to 3 years. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hello! I have a bottle from Mexico from 2 or more years ago. there is a ENE 21 is that the expiration date? ## Our bottle of Gimalxina is 2019 and the bottle has being open. Is it bad to take?
I have a tub of Glucosamine Sulphate with expiry Jan 2013. Is it safe to use it still? ## From the information I've found, they just begin to lose potency after the expiration date, but aren't known to become dangerous. So, they may not be as effective as they were, when new. This is just a supplement, but the best thing you could really do would be to dispose of them and just purchase a new bottle. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I am having a packetof glucosamine 1500mg i With chondroitin 1200 mg 0f manufacturing dat 1/15 no expiry is written can i use this packet
Hi all. I have been using bensedin diazepam at 40mg a day for months and have not needed to increase dose so that's good, on the other hand I seem to often get the same lot number 05697 exp 06/2020 last 4 strips all same batch apart from 1 strip. I've also had lot 05697 with exp 2021. I didn't think you could have the same lot number with different expiration dates? Or can you? ## Yes, you can. There are more details available from the FDA on expiration dates. Generally, the expiration date on the package you receive from the pharmacy is based on when they were dispensed to you and how long they are expected to maintain full efficacy under average home storage conditions. In most countries, that's about a year from when you received the product. However, when still in t...
I'd bought Meloxicam 7.5mg on Dec.15-2014. I would like to know if there is no harm to use it now? Thanks for any help. My concern is to know the expiration date of pills sold in 2014. ## Sorry to not reply from since because I'm not in good shape. I'm not in good shape and I'm in hospitals and laboratories every day of the week. I saw my family doctor and prescriber of Meloxicam. He preferred to give me another prescription without explanation. My advice is to see the doctor. Thank you for your help and sorry for not being useful to others. DEDE ## Hello Dede, Sorry tell you but I don't have the answer to your question but I can provide you with some information on how you can get the answer. On the bottle or package that you have there should be a batch number. The...
The expiration date on the Vandazole packaging says 02/2009. Can I still use it since its only been 3 months after? ## When It comes to any medication, I think it may be a good idea to start fresh with a new prescription, and not worry about whether or not the drug works like it's supposed to due to the expiration. The medication may be fine, however only you and your doctor can assess what and when it may be alright for you to take Vandazole.
Please help me determine if the diazepam I got in my rx refill are a good brand? They are round, white, and just about the same size as the diazepam I've gotten from my pharmacy in the past except those were green and manufactured by Mylan. The ones I got have a criss cross on one side and the imprint on the other side says VAIUM 10. They came in a blister pack with dates of expiration and the words Abbott Healthcare. They don't seem as relaxing as the US ones I've had. Anyone have any experience or input? It would be greatly appreciated ## Truth is, there's no safe way of knowing if what you got is a good brand unless you had it analyzed by a lab first. Counterfeits today are so good that there's sometimes no telling them apart with just a physical description alone...
I received Rivotril ( I never heard that name used for clonazepam before) today -4/14/14). The expiration date is 5/2013 and one of the pills in the blistered pack was opened. Are they safe to use? ## Dear GingerMarie, I wouldn't take them. They r expired and one is open? No way! I wouldn't take the chance. It's been almost a year that they expired. It's not safe. I would return them. ## Hi Ginger, I honestly don't think it would be a good idea to take anything that has already been opened, regardless of whether it's expired or not. If the blister packs have already been opened and/or tampered with, that should be an immediate red flag that something isn't necessarily right. But what gets me about these pharmacies, is that they usually don't let you take ...
Is it unsafe to use Terconazole. Cream o.4 (TerAzol) after the discard date? ## Although I wouldn't recommend using any sort of medication (cream or pill) after the expiration date, I suppose it largely depends on how long it has been expired for? I located a good deal of information on this cream, provided in the link below.... ....But nothing stating the shelf life of it. The precautions on the packaging merely note the following: "Do not use if seal has been punctured or is not visible. See crimp of tube for lot number and expiration date" Since it doesn't really specify I wouldn't suggest taking any risks, depending on if it hasn't been more than a week or two. They put the expiration date on there for a good reason, so just know that it's for your own sa...
Can I still take Temazepam that expired 9 years ago? ## It doesn't become dangerous, once expired, but it will most likely have lost some of its efficacy. Even when a medication is stored in the original, factory sealed packaging, it still expires in 4 to 5 years, and if it has been opened, and placed in a prescription bottle dispensed by your pharmacy, then its expiration date is a year from when it was dispensed. Harvard Health has some great information available on expiration dates. The way the medication has been stored in the intervening years can also play a role, exposure to heat, light, air, and moisture all aid in degradation. It would be best to dispose of it, and see your doctor for a new prescription, if one is needed. Ref: Temazapam Information Is there anything else I...
PHENOL EZ SWADS-WHAT IS EXPIRATION DATE ## When were they purchased? The expiration date on anything is going to vary, depending on manufacturing date, whether the packaging has been opened and etc. If the information you posted in your subject line is from the packaging, that would designate that they expired in 2009.
I take Hyzaar 100/12.5 nightly and I ran out of the prescription. I have a sample pack that my doctor gave me years ago which expired Oct. 2010. Is it dangerous to take 1 of them? ## They don't get dangerous after the expiration date, but they do lose efficacy. Thus, if they are years old, then they will no longer work as they are intended. Learn more Hyzaar details here. Thus, it would be best to dispose of the old ones and contact your doctor for a new prescription. However, you need to do so immediately, to avoid the rebound effect of missing medication. Are there any other questions I can help with? ## thank you very much for your response. I did throw them out before I even got the response and did get a new script from the doctor.
Purchased ALEVE 12 Hours Softgel Caps two and a half years ago. Are they still good? ## Hello, Shirley! How are you? What is the expiration date on the package? You should always go by that, because medications do tend to lose effectiveness over time and the gel caps may actually turn bad, so if they are expired, you should just dispose of them. The FDA classifies this medication as a NSAID and lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation and increased risk of bleeding.
Filled in 2013, unmixed, still in powder form. Is it still safe for my 6 year old? Thanks for your time. ## Hello, Tee! How are you? What is the expiration date that is listed on the packaging? Solid forms of medications usually have a longer shelf life than liquids, but they can lose efficacy over time. Thus, I'd not advise giving it to such a young child, unless her pediatrician approves. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.
I bought a 130 ct bottle of low dosage Bufferin for heart reasons. (I recently had a tripple bypass) I noticed that several pills we only half sized while others were concave on one side thereby reducing the dosage. I have switched to Bayer. ## If they were purchased in the U.S. you can report these anomalies to the FDA at 800-332-1088, but they will probably need the information from the packaging, such as the lot number and expiration date. You can also contact the manufacturer and the information to do that should also be on the packaging. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I have the same problem. Half sized pills with some concave pills. They are from a 130 ct also. I need to know how to get in touch the the maker. No info on the bottle, and the paper insert has been thr...
I'm currently taking Ultracet medicine with a batch number of 417 that's listed as being manufactured on 08/16. I would like to know how to determine the expiry of the medicine? ## The U.S. FDA lists the expiration as being one year from the date you received them, unless they are still sealed in the original factory container, or blister packs. If they, they may be good for 4 to 5 years. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. I have also been recently informed by a nurse practitioner, that the U.S. is the only country that requires expiration dates on medications. Thus, checking with your pharmacist to be sure of the regulations where you live might be advisable. Is there anything else I can help wi...
The shelf life of Sulfadimethoxine is at least five years after the expiration date. My packet has a "07/2012" expiration date stamp, but when I used it to treat my pigeon, on 3/2018, Sulfadimethoxine completely cured my pigeon after only two (2) days of administration, 25 mg per kilogram of body weight, twice per day.
