I need to know how long Stugeron is good after the expiration date on the front has passed. I have a pack here that says "exp 2 2013". According to a drug monograph I read, Stugeron has an estimated shelf life of 3 years. I also found out that it does not require any special storage conditions like most other meds do. I have a tub of Glucosamine Sulphate with expiry Jan 2013. Is it safe to use it still? ## From the information I've found, they just begin to lose potency after the expiration date, but aren't known to become dangerous. So, they may not be as effective as they were, when new. This is just a supplement, but the best thing you could really do would be to dispose of them and just purchase a new bottle. The expiration date on the Vandazole packaging says 02/2009. Can I still use it since its only been 3 months after? ## When It comes to any medication, I think it may be a good idea to start fresh with a new prescription, and not worry about whether or not the drug works like it's supposed to due to the expiration. The medication may be fine, however only you and your doctor can assess what and when it may be alright for you to take Vandazole.

Please help me determine if the diazepam I got in my rx refill are a good brand? They are round, white, and just about the same size as the diazepam I've gotten from my pharmacy in the past except those were green and manufactured by Mylan. The ones I got have a criss cross on one side and the imprint on the other side says VAIUM 10. They came in a blister pack with dates of expiration and the words Abbott Healthcare. They don't seem as relaxing as the US ones I've had. Anyone have any experience or input? Cream o.4 (TerAzol) after the discard date? ## Although I wouldn't recommend using any sort of medication (cream or pill) after the expiration date, I suppose it largely depends on how long it has been expired for? I located a good deal of information on this cream, provided in the link below.... ....But nothing stating the shelf life of it. Can I still take Temazepam that expired 9 years ago? ## It doesn't become dangerous, once expired, but it will most likely have lost some of its efficacy. Even when a medication is stored in the original, factory sealed packaging, it still expires in 4 to 5 years, and if it has been opened, and placed in a prescription bottle dispensed by your pharmacy, then its expiration date is a year from when it was dispensed. Harvard Health has some great information available on expiration dates. The way the medication has been stored in the intervening years can also play a role, exposure to heat, light, air, and moisture all aid in degradation. The expiration date on anything is going to vary, depending on manufacturing date, whether the packaging has been opened and etc. If the information you posted in your subject line is from the packaging, that would designate that they expired in 2009.

I take Hyzaar 100/12.5 nightly and I ran out of the prescription. I have a sample pack that my doctor gave me years ago which expired Oct. 2010. Is it dangerous to take 1 of them? ## They don't get dangerous after the expiration date, but they do lose efficacy. Thus, if they are years old, then they will no longer work as they are intended. You should always go by that, because medications do tend to lose effectiveness over time and the gel caps may actually turn bad, so if they are expired, you should just dispose of them. The FDA classifies this medication as a NSAID and lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation and increased risk of bleeding.

I bought a 130 ct bottle of low dosage Bufferin for heart reasons. (I recently had a tripple bypass) I noticed that several pills we only half sized while others were concave on one side thereby reducing the dosage. I have switched to Bayer. ## If they were purchased in the U.S. you can report these anomalies to the FDA at 800-332-1088, but they will probably need the information from the packaging, such as the lot number and expiration date. The shelf life of Sulfadimethoxine is at least five years after the expiration date. My packet has a "07/2012" expiration date stamp, but when I used it to treat my pigeon, on 3/2018, Sulfadimethoxine completely cured my pigeon after only two (2) days of administration, 25 mg per kilogram of body weight, twice per day.
