Xarelto Diarrhea

Has anyone had frequent diarrhea while taking xarelto? Like 3 or 4 days a week? ## Xarelto has been known to cause diarrhea, as a side effect, in some people that take it, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising. I have been taking xarelto regularly for about 3 months. I am noticing when I have a drink I get very nauseous and the next day I have diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this? ## Drinking alcohol with most medications will worsen the side effects, according to FDA reports. You may also experience dizziness, and headaches. It is usually best not to drink while taking any prescription medication. They usually do not work well together. Alcohol can also cause additional blood thinning. Can I take Pamoxab for a chest/cold infection while taking Xarelto (a blood thinner)? The Pamoxab is 2 yrs old. ## Medications do begin to lose efficacy, once expired, so taking them could create the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, thus it would be best to see your doctor and obtain a new supply, if you need to take an antibiotic. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

My menstruation was so bad on xarelto I needed a transfusion and was taken off xarelto. When can I expect my menstrual bleeding to stop? ## Hello, Julie! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you had, that's terrible! Unfortunately, there's no way to be sure. As it cycles out of your body, things should return to normal, but it may take several weeks. Other side effects to stopping it, as listed by the FDA, may include headache, diarrhea and nausea. What was it replaced with? ## It was replaced with a IVC filter. No more blood thinners for me.

I took a 3 month course of Xarelto to clear a DVT following an extended hospital visit. I took the last dose 3 days ago. I have had severe lower back ache and a headache since stopping. Is this coincidence or cold it be related? I was in the hospital with severe anemia and am still fighting to get my iron back up. Blood count is in normal range after transfusions. ## Hello, Lee! I have been on xarelto for 2 & a half years for afib.....was recently taken off of it....I am having flu like symptoms.....headache, achiness & nausea... I was prescribed xarelto 20 mg for 20 days following foot surgery, due to a history of a clot in my calf, took last pill day before yesterday and my whole body, but especially my foot is swollen and retaining fluid I am fatigued and sore. I also have a superficial infection on the end of my Inscision and taking antibiotic might go to ER if it doesn't improve. Looks like lots of fluid retention. ## Hello, Christy! How are you doing? Hi. I used Xarelto for a few days for DVT. It caused extreme bleeding in me. I have a myoma. It was not time for my period, but I started losing blood and clots immediately. Needed to change things every 10-15 minutes. I already had bad iron deficiency anemia, so that is not a good thing. Now that this side effect stopped, I quit. I have severe fatigue and diarrhea. I read Xarelto has lactose, which I am intolerant to (thanks, doc). So that may explain something. But it does not stop. Same for the dizzy spells and vertigo and disoriented feelings in my head. And for the anxiety and suicidal depression and irritability. I was happy and balanced (even if somewhat concerned about the DVT) before starting. Only a few days of Xarelto, changed me around. I take one Verapamil SR 240 mg tablet per day. I've been taking it at lunchtime (at approx. 12-12:30) with food. Is this the best time of day to take it? I also take other prescribed meds: 2 Metformin, 1 Losartan, 1 Xarelto and 1 Lovastatin. Presently, I take Losartan in the early a.m.; Xarelto at 6:30p.m.; Metformin in the a.m. and p.m.; and Lovastatin at bedtime. I was taken off of Atenolol because of my low pulse. My main concern is the time of day to take the above meds because I do better on a schedule. ## It really depends on what works best for you, unless your doctors gives some reason that you should take them at others times. I'm off xarelto 3 days I feel like there is a Charlie horse in the leg my blood clot was in has anyone have this getting off xarelto. I'm calling dr as soon as they open has anyone else experienced this I was just told to take 81 mg of aspirin I see some people take other things like a vitamin E and a is that important ## That can be normal, when you stop taking it, but it is always a good idea to consult your doctor to be sure. Other withdrawal effects may include fever, chills, diarrhea, and rebound blood clots. The vitamins, such as e and a, are not actually proven to help. How are you feeling, now? Have you consulted your doctor, yet? Has there been any change?
