Why Do I Itch Taking Hydrocodon 7 5 325

I seem to have a very smart Doctor. He prescribed Norco 10-325 for post surgical pain. The first bottle gave me nothing but relief. The refill, at a different pharmacy, caused unbelievable itching all over and down my throat. I called and told him he had me look up the mfgr on the bottle. It was Qua. He said my problem is the dye used in the second batch. He re prescribed to the original pharmacy and got the Norco manufactured by Watson. If you are taking an opiate that is making you itch, have your doctor re prescribe from a pharmacy that uses the pill made by a different mfgr. Walgreens filled for me this time and b4 giving it to me asked "your allergic to tramadol? But you've taken norco?" Being in a hurry I didn't think about it..but I've had to take 2 and I'm itching and breaking out soo I think I'll have to ask them about that ## They are different medications, however, when someone discovers they are allergic to one medication, there is always a risk that they may find more they are allergic to, as well. Does anyone experience itching of the throat when taking this medication. Just my throat itches, I do not have an itching sensation anywhere else. Nor do I have a rash or hives. I am prescribed 2 5/325 pills every 4-6 hours for pain caused by ovarian cysts. I have taken this medication in the past without any issues. Itchy throat, Marked and distinct scratchy throat and discomfort, also felt in ears, more during swallowing. Took first doze last night Aug 14 for chest pain and cough. Woke up with pain in ears and throat in about 4hrs. Morning the side effect had weathered to notice. Took another doze. Got 1-2 hrs. sleep, the side effect returned with exact same symptoms. Hi can I take Hydrocodone5mg/325 when i am allergic to codeine isn't Hydrocodone5mg/325 from the same family as Codeine because Codeine itches me.my Doctor gave me this for menstrual cramps,because she took me off 50mg Indomethian due to Kidney problems.I am afraid to take the Hydrocodone 5mg/325 cause i am afraid it will itch me what can I take is these medications the same or not. ## Yes, they are distantly related, but not the exact same substance. Do you also have a rash/hives, or are you just itchy? If you have a rash and/or hives, it would most likely be due to an allergic reaction. However, if your skin looks fine and you're just itchy, then it's most likely just a side effect of the medication. Narcotics can cause that in some people and it might just not the right analgesic for you to take.

However my mom is allergic to codeine as well and she's on the same dose of Hydrocodone apap (10/325) right now and hasn't had any bad reactions other than the typical itching sensation that is sometimes associated with this combination. She was also initially worried about an allergic reaction but hasn't experienced one. With codeine she would break out in hives and whatnot. I am recovering from surgery and I have found that the little solid white hydrocodone 5/325's make my skin itch and burn horribly and also make me feel wired like I had 5 pots of coffee. The brands with the little red or blue specks, as well as the ones with the peach color (Norco I believe) do not have any of these side effects for me. I broke out in a severe itchy rash. Is this common? ## That's usually the sign of an allergic reaction, which means you shouldn't continue taking the medication, because it could get much worse. I had my knee surgery yesterday and am on hydrocodone 10/325. It manages pain pretty well but it seems to make me itch. I plan to call the Dr, but would like to know an equivalent pain medicine that I may tolerate better for this? After surgery today, I have taken 3 generic 5-325 mg, 1 every 4 hours as presribed. I did find that a side effect may be itchiness, which I have to an extreme, as the night went on & addit'l doses. But I also can't sleep, even though a side effect is drowsiness! It's 4:30 PST so no pharmacy is open. Can anyone help??? ## It can have the opposite effect in some people, though it is rare. I have taken Hydrocodone 10/500 for years on and off. Not dependent. The worst side effect was head itching. tolerable. I was off and recently prescribed 10/325. The itching is head to toe unbearable. I have scars from scratching. It lasts for days with very little help from Benadryl 50 mg. every 6 hours. My doctor said Oxycodone 10/325 will be better. I took it after a meal. One to two hours later I am very nauseous. 3-4 hours latter headache and intense itching. 13 hours later I still feel sick from it. Taking 5/325 hydrocodone & ancetamin for fractures in leg & arm. Even though this is small dose I am experiencing itchy face & some shallow breaths or longer time between breaths. I think it may be due to some sort of allergic reaction you might have to either codeine or one of the binders/fillers in their tablets. Since they have a changed the compound of vicodine to the 325 10 I have had a really bad problem with etching I have had him change them to Percocet no but it's not any better I have to take tiny little bites of the pain pill.
