Hi I have been taking oralcon for 2 months now but I have taken the red pills only. 1 remains but still I'm not menstruating. Is that a problem? ## Hello, Betty! How are you? In order for these tablets to induce menstruation, you have to take the other tablets, too. There are no active ingredients in the red pills, so they won't do anything to cause you to have a period if they are the only ones you take. It is the break they give you from the hormones in the other tablets that causes you to have a period. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting and PMS-symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

No, you should start with the white tablets and since you are not starting the first day of your period, you should use backup protection for the first full 7 days of taking the active white tablets. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and breakthrough bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have never used any contraception pills in my life. And I want to use oralcon. When do I start using it? ## You can start it, at any time. If you start it the first or second day of your period, it will be effective immediately at preventing pregnancy, however, if you start it any time after that, you will need to take it for a full week in order for it to reach it's full level of efficacy. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting, and PMS-like symptoms. What instructions has your doctor provided? ## I started taking oralcon about 12 days ago. I Initially started using it because of the terrible pains i get when i have my menstrual cycle. Hi, I started the pills backwards, I started on the red pills on the last day of my period. What should I do? Do I continue to take the red pills or do I start the white pills? Also are they going to work? Like will I be protected from getting pregnant? Thank you so much! ## Hello, Rose! How are you? Yes, you should have started with the active pills on the first or second day of your period, that would provide immediate protection from pregnancy, because it would prevent ovulation this month. Unless your doctor says otherwise, you should move on to the active tablets. If you start the active tablets at any time later, you must take them for a full 7 days, before they will become protective against pregnancy, according to the FDA. So, you must use a backup method of protection, until th...

Do I stop taking the red pills and start taking another set of white ones or do I continue taking the red pills until its finished before I start another pack? ## Hello, Kimmy! How are you? Yes, you should continue taking them and then start a new pack once you finish this one, according to the NIH. Hi, I was on the 2 month injection, immediatley after I started on oralcon. I stopped taking it because of personal reasons. Now I want to start again but not sure when to take the first tablet? When do I take the first oralcon tablet? ## Hello, Samantha! How are you? For immediate protection from pregnancy, you should take the first tablet on the first day of your period. However, if you want to start it at any other time, you can do so, but it will take 7 days to reach its full efficacy level in your body, so you'll have to use some other form of protection for that first week. Hi. I have been using yaz for about 7 months but switched to oralcon. I am currently at my second red pill of the month but I haven't started my cycle yet. I do have extreme cramps, breast tenderness and tiredness but there is no signs of my cycle. I have taken it religiously, and have used extra protection during intimacy with my husband, however we are not ready for children and now we are worried that there might be a chance of pregnancy. ## Irregular cycles can be a normal side effect of oral contraceptives, according to NIH studies, some women even stop having periods entirely, while taking them. Other side effects may include nausea, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. However, the only way to really be sure is by checking for pregnancy. Are you on any other medication...

Hi, I've been using Oralcon for almost year now, but when I went to my Dr they didn't have oralcon in stock so the Dr gave me Trigestrel and said it's the same, but I'm concerned. Will the 2 clash and is it safe for me to use Trigestrel right away? ## Yes, you can just switch straight from one to the other. That is often done, when a woman needs to switch which one she takes. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have just moved from trigestrel to oralcon, do they function the same? I'm about to reach 50 years of age. Is it safe? ## Hi. Hay, I've been on Oralcon for a year and a half, I have never missed a day. Me and my boyfriend had intercourse a week ago and now I am due for my period. I have my normal period pains. My period started a day early but a couple of hours after it started it disappeared. Was I spotting and could I be pregnant? ## If you didn't miss any tablets then there is not a high risk of your being pregnant. According to the NIH, some women just have shorter periods while taking oral contraceptives, and some women stop having them, completely. Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications?

Hi i been using oralcon a few months back had no problems until now. I stared a new pack the first week of this month but decided on stopping because I was away for a week so I didn't see the reason to take it since I wasn't active. I had my period which was surprising, however I decided on taking the same pills at the start of my period. I stop taking the pills after my period was finished, only to find out this morning I was bleeding again. Is this because I continued from the same pack?, why? I don't understand hence: what do u suggest I use because am scared I won't be able to have kids when am ready and I don't think I wanna use oralcon anymore ## Hello, Neika! How are you? Hi , I've just started using Oralcon from using Yasmin. Is there a big difference between the two ? Because I am worried it might have a different effect as it is cheaper ? ## I switched from Yasmin to oralcon. Is it safe to just change or will it effect me hormonally? I've taken a brand new cycle now for my new month and would also like to know if I must consume all of the white tablets then break or consume the red tablets as well? ## No, it works the same and you should not have a problem making a clean switch from one to the other. Shell, the red tablets do not have any active ingredients, they are just reminder pills to try to keep women in the habit for taking a pill every day, so you can skip them, if you wish, it would be just like having a break week where you don't...

Hi, I just wanted find out something. I didn't start my new pack from the start arrow, I kinda started the other side, finished the first row and now I'm following the arrows as instructed. Will I have any issues or are all the white pills exactly the same? Meaning it shouldn't matter where I start or no, they don't all contain the exact amount of substance ## They are all the same, each tablet contains the same dosage of hormones, so it should be fine. The only point of concern would be if you took inactive pills and engaged in intercourse, then there is a risk of pregnancy. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hey ive recently started using this contraception just as my period ended, im on the last two pill and I had intercourse; can I get pregnant ## Hello, Judine! How are you? Regardless of when you started it, if you'd taken 7 active pills in a row, without missing any, then you were protected. So, if you didn't have intercourse until almost the end of the pack, you should be fine. Is there anything else I can help with?

Good day Mrs/Ms, I recently started using oralcon after much hesitation for years. Reason why i finally gave in was the fact that i am seeing a lot of my peers falling pregnant unintentionally and it really got me worried. Another reason why i decided to take it was because i wanna be able to counter any mistake (condom burst). My question is then is it 100% safe? Can i fully rely on it if i follow all the requirements set forth? ## Yes, it is reliable, according to the U.S. FDA, if taken properly and you don't miss any tablets. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irregular bleeding, and PMS-like symptoms. However, if you want to get pregnant, why are you taking this medication?
