Penicillin is generally not the preferred antibiotic to treat either infection. I am taking these meds for 3 days now and I have 4 days left. The doc said to take them twice a day for 7 days. My boyfriend has chlamydia and he needs to be treated. We had intercourse last night. I continued my meds today as usual. Will I be cured or will I have to start treatment all over again?? ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? I had intercourse with my ex boyfriend and I think he gave me chlamydia, five days later I went to the doctor for a sinus infection, the doctor gave me AMOX TR-K CLV. Iv been on the meds for a few years to treat acne and am hoping it would of stopped me from catching the virus. ## Have you consulted your doctor? While it is an effective antibiotic, the fact that you've been on it for quite awhile might mean that you've developed some antibiotic resistance, so it may not be effective at treating or preventing other infections.
