Hello, I've been seeing boils/blister on and around my genitals, my scrotum and close to the rectum. I was told by my son's Pediatirician that this was not penicillin (as he is allergic to PCN). Now after reading several discussions about this med, I'm worried. Please respond ASAP! Thank you, a concerned mother. ## If he is allergic to PCN he should not take this medication. It is a close cousin to the penicillin family and he will also be allergic to it. I am also allergic to amoxicillin (pcn sister) and I was given this medicine for a ear infection and started getting hives in my face n swelling eyelids and tingly mouth. I have copd and have developed bronchitis over the last week or so. I am allergic to penicillin. My doctor believes the bronchitis is bacterial and has prescribed a medication that the prescription insert says "May cause serious lung problems. Tell your doctor if you develop a cough, shortness of breath, or chest pain" all of which I have with copd and bronchitis. He also prescribed 5 days of prednisone and a pro air inhaler. What would be the best antibiotic given this information. I have a problem with blockage in my ear. It started last week when I had the flu. My flu is sorted out now, but my left ear is still blocked.
