Hello, My name is mark. my doctor said that the new drug laws only allow for 200 mg of a opioid daily. I currently am on 4-30mg oxycodone and 2- 30mg 30mg morphine sulphate. He say's that he is going to have to remove 1 30mg of the morphine because it add's up to 220 mg daily.This makes no since to me because I take 1 long term in the morning and before bed I take the second, Is my doctor correct,becouse that means I will have nothing in the morning which will increase my pain level thru out the day? ## Hello, Mike/Mark! I was on 5 30mg of oxycodone ir after doing some reading after you have more than 120mg in your system the rest is not helping you it's just loading your system up and your asking for long term problems my dr. Has since put me on 3 30mg oxycodone and one 30mg morphine extended release for nighttime and that seems to be the magic for me, it helps the hard pain during the day and at night lets your system calm down when I'm sleeping. ## even though oxycodone is 1.5 x stronger than morphine, if you take an equivalent dose of mophine sulfate (90 m. vs. 60 oxy), will you still develop the same tolerance/addiction/dependency from the morphine as from the oxycodone? ## Great Gw! I take 60 mgs of oxydone 2x day..dr recently added 10 mg opana er...omg...he sd its stronger...it will help you. ..bull sh#@! I wonder what the difference is between 15MG MS Contin vs 15 Mg Oxycodone. Is there a substitute for MS Morphine..I take 2 30mg MS Contin twice a day and also with that I take 15MG MS Contin twice per day..which of course is 45mgs at a time..with 3 15mg Oxcodone for breakthru pain. I am wondering how they compare to one another? ## Based on my research, Dilaudid is much stronger then Oxycodone, but it doesn't last very long in it's immediate release formula. I'd like to know how much stronger in milligrams the difference is between 30 mg of Methadone and 30 mg of Oxycodone? Of course, the Methadone always worked better and the Oxycodone, same dosage, is not nearly as strong. I've seen someone say 20mg of oxycodone is equivalent to 30mg of morphine, but is that taking into account that only 30% of the morphine is absorbed by the body whereas with oxycodone it's about 80% So when taking 30mg of morphine you're body is really only getting about 9mg but when taking 20mg of oxycodone you're getting 16mg of it absorbed into your body.
