I received this from mail order after taking wellbutrin 300 xl for about 5 years. The round white pill's only marking is A102. has anyone had experience with this medication? Is it realy the same? ## Just last month mypill had WPI 3332 on it. The maximum daily dose shouldn't exceed 450mgs, taken as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you miss a tablet, you should take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for the next dose, in this case, skip the missed dose and take the new one, then continue with your regular dosing schedule. I'm wondering if anyone has switched from the brand wellbutrin to the generic buprop 24 and has noticed a difference. It seems to me that my depression is returning on the generic - or is it just my imagination? ## No, it is not likely just your imagination. There can be fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient between the name brand and the generic. The FDA does allow them to differ by as much as plus, or minus 20%. For most people, these differences aren't significant and don't cause any problems. I took Wellbutrin and Wellbutrin XL for several years. It worked well for depression. I was then switched to the generic, Bupropion Hcl XL. This also worked well. I was then switched to "Buprop 24 XL". After a month or so, I had serious side effects. (Muscle spasms, increased depression, and my hands shook such that it affected my writing and the use of a keyboard.) About 2 months ago I switched back to the brand drug, Wellbutrin, and am almost back to normal. If Buprop 24 XL is identical to Wellbutrin (and to Bupropion), why the side effects? What companies make each of the three different drugs? ## Well to be honest, the generics and name brands aren't necessarily identical. I've been taking this medication for almost 4 weeks. The first two weeks taking the medication was great, but these last two weeks has been horrible. I've been having motion sickness for two weeks and a lil dizziness every once in awhile. It has helped with my nightmares, but I get so discouraged because the motion sickness is depressing. I wanted to see if the A101 pill or the 3331 150mg pill will make a difference. I've seen XL, SA and SR and it all confuses me why there are so many pills that are related to this medication. CIPLA got approval from the FDA to produce their generic version of Wellbutrin XL on August 30, 2016. I have made an inquiry to CIPLA as to whether their approval also means that they met the bioequivalence testing that other generic manufacturers had to comply with after Teva/Impax was pulled off the market in Sept. 2012 -- and Actavis (now owned by Watson) was removed Oct. 2013. Instead of bupropion 150mg xl tab 150mg 24hr (A 101), I received bupropion xl tab 150mg (681). Will it last 24hr like the (A 101) pill will? They said it would, but I have doubts. ## Hi Marci, From what I could gather, both pills are reported to contain 150mg of Bupropion in extended release form (A101 being a brand name Budeprion XL / and 681 being a generic form of Bupropion XL). So if the extended release tablets are supposed to last 24hrs I don't see any reason why this other pill wouldn't hold true to that. Ive been taking the SR for a long time. I had a siezure Aug 2008. My Dr has kept me on this med. w/ok from Nuerologist. I recently became aware that the pharmacy gave me Bupropion HCL ER 200mg on my last refill-instead of the SR. I always check and cant beleive I didnt see this. Is there a diffrence?
