How long is this medication good after their expiration date. I don't take often so I have some over a year old. ## Hello, Based on my research, U.S. prescription medications are required to have a mandatory expiration date of 1 year from the date the prescription is filled. After a year is up, the medication should still be safe but it will start to lose its potency and can no longer be as effective. However, there are some medications that can become dangerous after they expire. Can hydrocodone cause anxiety? ## It isn't a common side effect, but it has been known to cause it in some people that take it. Most medications are known to cause the opposite of their intended effects in some people that try them, though no one is really sure why it happens. Learn more Hydrocodone details here. Has it been causing such a problem for you? ## I take hydrocodone and sometimes it seems to help with my anxiety. Could this be a possible use case?

I found Hydrocodone 7.5 mg and it's from 1997 is it dangerous to take because of the Tylonel or Ibuprofen in it?? ## Hi Jb, While there may be a lot of conflicting information around the topic of expired medication, a Harvard Medical School family health article states that, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effective 10 - 15 years after the expiration date. I don't know whether or not the drug you have happens to be one of these drugs from t...

I ordered what I hope is Hydrocodone from Meds-easy. They came in a zip bag, white, round, scored one one side, and no imprint. I took half of one pill, waiting to see what happens. Has anyone seen a pill like this, the packages usually come from India, but this came from Pakistan. I am worried that it could be something really bad. So far, this site hasn't let me down. But it took an extra month to get these meds. ## If there are no markings on it, then it is going to be difficult to determine exactly what you received. Where they supposed to be just Hydrocodone or the generic for Vicodin, which contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen? Is anyone else familiar with these tablets? Is there a manufacturer name on the packaging, or anything? ## NEVER take ANY pill that has no markings a...

Ok, I am taking 4 and a 1/2 a day and have been on them for about 2 months now. My question is: They don't seem to be working like they were before, but I don't want to be addicted or maybe I already am and that's why they don't seem to help the pain as they did before? So is the mall at the end just the maker, distributer? ## Hello, Judi! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having. The mall stands for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, they're the manufacturer. You will also likely be relieved to know that you don't have to be addicted to develop tolerance to a medication. That happens to everyone with any medication they take for a long period of time, your body just gets used to it and it stops working as well as it did. Sometimes it takes years fo...

I am a NC resident. I grew up in LA where my dad still lives. On a recent trip to visit him he had to go to the ER and stayed in the hospital 6 days. My stay in LA has lasted an additional 6 weeks. My Dr sent me with a typed prescription which was filled with no problem. Bc I had to stay an additional 3 weeks NY Dr described my prescription. Now they will only fill it for a 10 day supply. Fortunately, I will be back in NC so I will not run out but my question is what am I supposed to do on my next trip? And God forbid I get here and something happens With my dad and I am stuck here again longer than my anticipated stay. I have never lost a prescription or had a drug problem. I do not understand all the trouble associated with hydrocodone. I (unfortuately ) have been on the medicine sinc...

I have had 4 steroid injections for sciatic back pain with no relief. I have tried acupuncture to no avail and am now trying the Hydrocodone but am concerned it may be addictive. What signs should I be aware of when taking this medication every day? ## Hello, Maxine! How are you? Yes, the FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I think it will best help you, if I explain how/why addiction happens. Narcotics can cause a high feeling and energy, in some people that take them, but since those are just side effects, these symptoms eventually wear off, as their bodies become used to the medication. Thus, they have to keep taking more an mo...

My mom just had a knee replacement and is taking Hydrocodone. She is taking them every 4 hrs. The holidays are here and she has no refills, plus the doctor's office is closed. How many Ibuprofen can she take to equal the same amount, or is this even possible? ## It isn't possible. Hydrocodone is a narcotic analgesic. so there is nothing available over the counter, including the Ibuprofen, that will be as strong and work as well. Learn more Hydrocodone details here. If the pain gets too bad, she could go to her local ER and they should be able to help her. Does anyone else have any suggestions? ## Icing her knee will help some but going to the ER is best. She should try to keep watch of the number of pills she has on hand so that this never happens again in the future. This is so...

I've been on Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 5/325 since 2000, for osteoarthritis. What is the best way to stop taking them? Do I slowly back out of them? I'm in my seventies and I fear the withdrawal symptoms will be too much for me. I'm also concerned that I will suddenly be told I won't be able to take them anymore. Due to the current attitude and caution about opioids, I skipped some doses in order to have extras, in case. I want to have some extra pills available so I can back out of this drug more slowly if this happens. I'd like to be able to stop taking them completely and still have a life and the ability to do things for myself. ## How often are you taking them ? If you are taking them several times a day, you can take 1/2 a tablet instead of a whole tablet for s...

Can I become addicted to hydocodone/apap 5mg/325mg 1 tab 4 times daily? ## Well, first you need to understand the difference between addiction and dependence. Addiction happens when someone abused a medication, because they like the effects it has on them, so they keep taking more and more of it, since those effects gradually wear off, as their body gets used to the medication. A sudden cessation in these cases can result in very dangerous withdrawal symptoms. Dependence is what occurs when you use a medication, as prescribed, for a long period of time. It happens just because your body has gotten used to having it on a regular basis. A sudden cessation in these cases results in much more mild withdrawal symptoms that usually don't put the person in any danger. So, if you are taking...

Im scared when that happens throwing up little blood at end . I have 2 herniated discs in lower back and degenarative neck pain that's why Dr presribed me the pain med. So why would there b blood when I get nauseous and throw up? Any answers? ## Hello, Sunshine! How are you? Yes, it is most likely from an ulcer or gastritis, both of which can result in stomach bleeding. It would be best to have it checked out, since it can get very painful and possibly life threatening, if left to worsen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How often does it happen? ## If you are having episodes of coughing up blood, it IS NOT from the acetaminophen and hydrocodone bit...

G037 10-325 ... is this norco? Is this a norco pill? ## Hello, Sabrina! How are you? Yes, it's manufactured by Tris Pharma and they list it as containing 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## This particular generic has caused me severe stomach cramps and I have never had this problem before (after 15 yrs and many different generics) this is the first for that generic. It started with this script, and it happens about 2 hrs after taking it, so that has to be it. ## Makes me sick to my stomach, my pharmacy recently switched to it from...

I stopped drinking wine 3 nights ago because I had surgery and knew I would be taking hydrocodone for pain. Now I fear alchohol withdrawal. If I drink a glass of wine will that stop the withdrawal if that happens? ## Hi Sissy, yes! Drinking a glass of wine will help if u have alcohol withdrawals. It's like an addict, if they r withdrawing, taking opiates will help them. Hope u feel better. ## But how much were you drinking? Alcohol withdrawal doesn't usually occur, unless you've been drinking fairly large amounts, every day for a long period of time.

The pill is oblong, has 3504 written on one side. A friend in his early sixties Gave me one to relieve severe joint Pain.I think it's hydricodone , is my guess accurate? ## Could the imprint be "3594 V" by chance? If so, your guess would be accurate. From what I could gather, V 3594 is identified as Acetaminophen 500mg + Hydrocodone 7.5mg. It also happens to be a white oblong pill with little green specks all over. Manufacturer: Qualitest Pharmaceuticals Inc. National Drug Code (NDC): 00603-3882 This is a combination of two types of pain medicine used to treat moderate to severe pain. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Vicodin Details I hope this helps!

Has anyone ever seen or know of a hydrocodone m367 pill but thicker than usual? ## Hi Courtney, In my experience I've never come across any that were thicker than usual. I know its size is reported to be approximately 15mm. Maybe you could measure it for verification... Did you get this pill filled at a licensed pharmacy or was it through some other means? I only ask because it does seem rather unusual for drug companies to put out inconsistent batches (albeit, probably still happens from time to time). One idea though would be to take it into a local pharmacy and see if they'll be willing to compare it with another one that they have in stock. Maybe doing so will at least bring some peace of mind in knowing that it was evaluated among several other real ones. Hope this helps!

what happens if I mix hydrocodon with ketorolaco 30mg? could it be deadly? ## HI, Kris! No, I didn't find any interactions listed between these two medications, so it doesn't seem to be a deadly combination, but I'd suggest checking with your doctor to be certain. However, in many cases, Hydrocodone is combined with a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory or with Acetaminophen, since they tend to potentiate the action of it and make it work better. Learn more Hydrocodone details here and there are more Ketorolac details here. However, since it does cause it to be stronger, you may experience more side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness. It should also be noted that Hydrocodone is an opiate narcotic and may be habit forming. Are there any othe...

Can Hydroco over a period of time and years of use cause blood spot on the surface of your skin and cause you to bruise easily? That happens to me off and on and my family doctor said it was from the Hydroco. Some people thought I was on blood thinners but I didn't take blood thinners. Could this be related to part of the side affects of prolong use of Hydroco. I have been taking this for many years but not addicted to it cause I can go with out it and have no side affects of withdrawals. No, I don't have liver spots. These will pop up and fade away like blood under the skin and don't itch either. ## The active ingredients in this medication are Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, it is a narcotic analgesic. If your doctor thinks it is caused by the medication, then they are prob...

I took Hydrocodone for pain for several years and became very dependent. I have been going to a Methadone Clinic now for 2 years and it saved my life. I have led a productive life since. I take care of my parents and they both are bedbound. It is getting so hard for me to go to the clinic daily. Does anyone know of a private doctor in Fort Worth Texas that subscribes Methadone? Thank you for your help ## Have you considered a possible switch to Suboxone? It has been very successfully used to enable people to become completely drug free, rather than staying dependent on something, as often happens with Methadone. Treatment with it is also often done with a take home prescription, rather than always having to go to a clinic for a daily dose. You can check for a doctor in your area at the ...
