What Does The Pill Levothyroxine Look Like
46 Topics FoundI've taken this drug for sometime now, or at least one with a very similar look. Originally I had to be represcribed Levoxyl because of a DYE used in mfg.that made me itch profusely. Is it reasonable to demand name brand from the insurance. Any advice would be extremely appreciated. ## Hello, Shamsrumi! How are you? Are you having a problem with the generics? The only way most insurance plans will cover the name brand is if it's medically necessary. This medication is used to treat thyroid disorders and the FDA states that its most common side effects may include nausea, dizziness, weight changes, mood swings and hair loss. ## Hello. I need your help with the same condition that everyone complains about here. I also have Hypothyroid and are on Levothyroxine Sodium 112 mcg 1/day ...
I have been taking Levothyroxine 25mcg since July of 2010 and have been doing well on it. I have been wondering, being that the name of the med is "Levothyroxine Sodium", exactly how much (if any) Sodium is in the pill according to the dosage amount? Being that i'm trying to watch my sodium content i'm really curious about this. I have searched, and searched on the web and cannot find the answer i'm looking for. Maybe, and hopefully I can find my answer here. ## This doesn't refer to actual sodium as an ingredient, it refers to the type of chemical salt that the medication is made from. Thus, there is no reason to worry about your pills, any elements that may be in there are just trace amounts. This has to be done, to make medications safe for people with conditi...

Markings are as such: L2 on some and are marked : M (front) and L/7 (upside down L) any help with this is appreciated... ## The one with the M L7 is your Levothyroxine tablet. how does the pill look like? ## my precription was refilled . the first capsule was light in color, now the new refill is Lighjt orchid . Doe this matter? ## Just to clear this up, no the colors don't actually mean anything. That is something that is entirely up to the whit and whim of the manufacturer. If a new refill of the same medication in the same dosage is a different color, then it's most likely also from a different manufacturer. Learn more Levothyroxine details here. Anybody that isn't sure is welcome to post the details on the pill, including the imprints on them and someone will gladly double check for you. Are there any comments or questions? Is there anything I can help with? ## Levothyroxine 75 mg is grey in color very tiny sweet pill.
I have been on levo for 2 1/2 years. Started at 75 for about a year and a half. I got a new dr and dose was upped to 100, then 125 for last six months. I have also been dealing with menopause, I THINK. In the last 5 months I have had trouble falling asleep, jittery, nervous energy. I have worked outdoors in the heat with no problems. Now that I look back, I have had a hard time in the heat since I started levo. A couple months ago I weaned off of cymbalta and after those withdrawals were over, I started getting naseau and migraine. Has anyone else experienced heat problems? And is there a natural med for hypothyroidism? ## Hi Lisa, Sorry to hear about your situation. According to the US National Library of Medicine, "sensitivity to heat" is listed as a serious side effect of Lev...
I am hypo started Levothyroxine in November 2012, increased in Dec 2012 from.25 mcg to ..375 mcg started with itching, then symptoms got worse. now I am dizzy, light headed like I am in a fog, rash on hands with what looks like little blisters, body itching all over , feel like heart is racing, shortness of breath, and much more. have been to the doctor almost every week, Sent to allergist because of the itching, but I am pretty sure that it is this med. Anyone else having these problems? Sorry this is a mess as I am typing this on my phone? ## The blistering rash is something I don't remember being reported before from Levothyroxine, but there have been mentions of the other symptoms quite a few times from people taking it. Learn more Levothyroxine details here. Did the allergist f...
What are the numbers on the tabs? ## The marking will be different from manufacturer to manufacturer, since they all have to use a unique imprint. What are the markings on the tablets you have? Some markings include: M L10 JSP 519 and 3919 V But this is NOT a complete list, if you post back with the markings on the tablet you are questioning, I will gladly look it up for you! ## Why have chemists in u.k. given me two DIFFERENT BRANDS of levothyroxine (I take 125mg daily) EVERY time I get prescription past few years. THEY say its because they have to purchase 'cheapest' drug each week. I DON@T BELIEVE THIS. And stated that in the law of averages - they MUST have one drug company that sells both 100mg and 25mg cheaper than others in SAME WEEK. I believe this is a scam - to prevent...
I am having trouble controlling my blood sugars since starting levothyroxine 150 mcg 2 weeks ago after having my thyroid removed, I am on diabetes medication and have been for years and it has been under control and now I am getting crazy highs and lows. Is anyone else having this problem? my Dr. tells me there is no interaction but when I looked it up online it said there was and by the way I am feeling I tend to believe what I read.. any information would be appreciated.. thanks! ## U also need T3 which is Cytomel (or the generic Liothyronine SOD); this is to counter balance the T4 Levothyroxin u've bn taking. The only med that has both is Armor thyroid natural glandular which is hard to come by. ## You may also ask for Synthroid instead of the generic version, Levothyroxine. I kn...
I've taken this medication on and off for years. New endo- thought we should try again, despite my very educated disapproval. Switched from armour to levo-112mcg and cytomel (t3) -5mcg. I almost forgot what it felt like to be so ill. It's only been a week, but it's been horrific. Heartburn, cramps, nausea, painful bloating, night sweats (let me rephrase, more like night swimming.) And yes, more acne. At almost 40, I look like a 15 yr. old pubescent boy. Charming. This is morning sicknesses and intestinal flu all wrapped up in a pretty pink pill. So for those of you that are new to this, its a long haul, and there are other meds out there. Be persistent, if after two months symptoms do no subside-look further. Some of us just can not tolerate this sorry excuse of a medication...
Hi everyone, I am curious if anyone has experienced intermittent vision loss while being on levothyroxine. For about two months now my vision in my left eye will randomly disappear for 2-3 seconds and then slowly dissipate back to normal. I've been through a litany of exams -- retinal, cardiovascular, MRI/MRA -- that are all coming back clear and now we're wondering if it could be the medications I am on. I am also on humalog, lisinopril and Simvastin. Has anyone experienced symptoms like this with levothyroxine? ## Hello, Julia! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Looking over your list of mediations, there is a chance that it might be due to the Simvastatin, according to the FDA, it has been known to cause several vision issues, which usually g...
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism a few years back and began taking levothyroxine. Although I didn't lose weight, my energy levels did improve and sugar cravings decreased. However, in the past couple of months I've been experiencing intense hot flashes at night as well as throughout the day, have skipped a period and have been feeling very irritable, moody and depressed. I also developed a really weird and random rash on my upper thigh that wasn't itchy or painful, but lasted for about a month and has still not completely faded. It looks like a birth mark now. I realize that my symptoms could be perimenopause (I'm 39 yrs old) but I've also read that the side effects of levothyroxine can also cause my symptoms, as can having a thyroid disorder. I've been so des...
I had thyroid cancer and had a TT in 2017. I've been on Levothyroxine 150mcg for almost a year. The pills have always been light blue colored and round with a stamp of jsp on one side and 520 on the other side of them. I recently switched pharmacy and just opened them to discover the label says Levothyroxin 150 mcg tab Santos. They are blue, oval and say 150 on one side and GG 338 on the other. They look NOTHING alike and are not called the same. There was plenty of room on label, so its not that there wasn't room for the 'e' at the end. Am I taking the same stuff? It's been hell getting my levels right and I have nodules growing again and monitoring my antibodies for the cancer. I cannot afford to be on a lesser effective drug. Are these the same? They sure look tot...
I went to the doctor after he ran some blood work on me, he told me that my thyroid is sluggish and prescribed me 50mcg of levothyroxine. Does this mean that I have Hypothyroidism? My mother has it and she told me that I am at risk for having it as well.I have a lot of the symptoms and that was why I went to the doctor in the first place but he doesn't explain things at all and I have been looking for a new doctor but have had no luck. Please help! Thank you in advance. ## Yes, that would be hypothyroidism, or on the verge of developing it. But it never hurts to double check by asking your doctor to be specific, or consulting another for a second opinion. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Levothyroxine as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hair loss, mood swings and weigh...
I filled a prescription for Levothyroxine Sodium 75mcg from Combitic Global, but these look nothing like the American version. They have no markings but the outside blister packs do say levothyroxine sodium 75 and give manufacturing dates etc. They don't look like synthroid. It's a little concerning since I take drug panels and don't want to take something illegal and certainly don't want to know I wasted my time on something dangerous or completely useless. They are round and rounded in the middle and yellow. I haven't taken them yet. Anyone have any experience with these?
Filed under LevothyroxineI have been taking 75 mg levothyroxine for about 8 months i KNEW that my bloated stomach (basically look pregnant) and 2 stone weight gain was due to taking these pills i felt fine before i started them. I spoke to my doctor the other day explained to him that i cant cope with these side effects anymore and broke down in tears. I have suffered with depression since beating cancer 2 years ago and all this weight gain and tiredness is just killing me. He said as my levels are back up i can stop it for a week without danger. But ive decided to stop it forever after the hell ive been through with cancer treatment and stem cell transplant im not going to live in pain anymore life is too short. If i do start to get ill i will defo not be taking levo again!! I wll post back on here in a week o...
I had a total thyroid removal in June 2014. Was 1st put on 124mg of Levothyroxine, later 112 mg and swelling in both feet and legs began. My left leg looked like a stove pipe along with my swollen feet and toes. I developed hammer toes next to my large toe. Later I was placed on the 100mcg and the swelling continued. I spoke with my endorcrinologic who told me she could not help me but to speak with my general practitioner. To make a long story short I went to a heart doctor, had a mapping of my legs and found out I had small veins. I was told I had Lymphedema and was referred to a clinic. I did not go to this doctor. I started reading others emails on swelling and started cutting my pills like 3/4 in size on 10-20-2016. As of today I lost about 5lbs in weight and my right foot looks gr...
I am looking for clinical research that shows effects of Levothyroxine and Blood alcohol results? ## I think I may have stumbled upon exactly what you're looking for: ehealthme.com/ds/levothyroxine+sodium/blood+alcohol+increased The information may be brief, but if you scroll down it does display a graph of how Levothyroxine sodium effects blood alcohol levels. My wife is having hypothyroid symptoms again. I checked the brand and it is Lupin, which is an Indian brand. I have not had good luck with Indian brands for other things myself. I did find a review by someone saying they got switched to Lupin and their Hypothyroid symptoms came back. But 1 review does not make a case. It will be very helpful to people to get feedback on what brands people have had good or bad experiences with and what they went from and to. And what the symptoms were or what went away. So they can be aware when pharmacies switch brands and what to look for when searching for a better brand. ## In a lot of ways levothyroxine seems to be a special case with brands because it's not some sort of "brand x doesn't work" scenario, but rather it's that the d...
Hi! So I changed location and in the process of lookin for a new doc I ran out of my Levo. I take 50mcg a day. My appointment is not until a week from now. So I will be with no medicine for a week but I am so worried because they say to never discontinue it. When I was put in it, my thyroid level was on the low end of the normal range. I don't think is my thyroid that creates the issue but a 3-4mm pituitary tumor which was found nearly 4 years ago after the birth of my son. However, I've not had any issues or symptoms taking Levo. It has worked just fine. Now I'm am worried reading about all that can happen when you are off it! Can you please helping me with more info and options what to do! ## Hello, Tillie! How are you? Have you gotten back on our medication, yet? Being of...
I was diagnose with hypo 3yrs. Started taking levothyroxine 2yrs. ago and finally seeing and endo like Feb. 2012. First she told me to stop taking the whole pill which was 25mg and to take only half. after six weeks I was diagnose with Hashimoto's disease then she told me to take the whole pill again. 8 weeks later now she tells me to only take it 6 days out of the week except for Sundays. Its been 3yrs. and I still don't feel any better and it seem like I'm just getting worst. I used to weight 105 lbs. when down to 85 lbs. I'm 4' 11. It has been 2 weeks since I stop taking levothyroxine on Sundays. Should I just look for another endocrinologist? any suggestions would be great! Thanks!!! ## Has she been doing blood tests to check your thyroid hormone levels on a regu...
