What Does Nuvigil Look Like

I have been taking Nuvigil pretty consistently for about a 2 month period now for OSA, and have noticed what look like bug bites or hives popping up here and there on my body. I have anxiety disorder as well, and have had allergies since I moved to this area. I have had hives in the past due to both of these conditions, so I am not sure if it is just related to allergies or anxiety. Naturally, after reading the potential side effects for Nuvigil, I have some concern. It is not SJS (From the pictures I have seen), but I am not sure if the Nuvigil is contributing to the hives that have been popping up randomly. Has anyone else experienced this? Looking for some real life experiences to hear about. I'm new to nuvigil as of today, and like to have the occasional cocktail. I've read warnings saying not to combine, so am I going to have to quit drinking? Anyone with experience I'd love to hear from you. ## Hi James, I'm not one to speak from personal experience, but according to umm.edu, there are no drug interactions listed between Nuvigil (armodafinil) and Alcohol. Based on these findings alone, I have no reason to believe that you'd experience complications upon using the two together in a responsible manner. Does anyone else suffer from Nuvigil addiction? I suffer from depression and my Dr put me on this in 2012. I was fine and didn't abuse it for several years, but for the past 2 years I have. It is a schedule IV drug and most people have never heard of addiction to it. It gives me dopamine. ## Hello MB20628, According to the FDA it is known that Nuvigil is addictive and is fairly commonly seen in people who use the drug for longer than 3 months. What kind of information are you looking to get on the withdrawal symptoms of this drug? Are there any in particular that you are experiencing strongly? ## I need to get help with this problem. I just don't have confindence in rehab facilities because I think it is just me. Everybody else seems to handle it fine.

I've been taking Nuvigil for years, and never had any real issues with side effects, but I did a bit of research on what I've been experiencing in the last 6 months, and it looks like Nuvigil may be part of the cause. My periods are getting heavier and increasingly more painful, I'm breaking out like crazy, and I'm starting to grow some serious sideburns (well, peach fuzz, but I recently had to shave them, and it was A LOT). The combo sounds, to me, like the result of steroids, or androgens in general. I'm also looking into other lady-issues like PCOS, etc. I've let my doc know, and in the meantime thought I'd ask if anyone else has experienced hormonal side effects while using Nuvigil? ## Hello, Michelle! The pill is not scored, but my first day with 150mg sent me into a horrible anxiety attack?panic attack? My Insurance does not cover it so..getting a new RX for a lower dose is out. Having a hard time getting my insurance company to pay for my Provigil; United Healthcare, Medco. They say I can pay for it but that is full price ast several hundred dollars per month. I was given a prescription for Nuvigil, then Provigil, and my Insurance denied both of them. My Doctor prescribed it for Treatment Resistant Depression, which is Depression that has failed to be controlled by many (for me about 20) combinations of anti-depressants and then anti-psychotics and anti-depressants. Also, treatment failed for me by having 4 Electro Shock Treatments and then a Vagus Nerve Stimulator implanted in my neck to send waves to my brain to help the depression. I was still not functional.
