What does Metformin 1000 mg look like in all forms? ## Metformin is a generic medication, so it is manufactured by several different companies and they will all have different markings to enable their identification, thus there is really no way I could post what all of them look like and the descriptions. Just to give you a few examples... White, oblong, 93 on one side, 7214 on the opposite. White, oblong, GP 128. While the dosage certainly adds up to 1000mg, there is still a big difference between immediate release formulas and extended (time-released) formulas. The time-released tablets are more geared towards 24 hour - around the clock pain relief; while the standard immediate release tabs are said to be more ideal for short term pain management patients. Whether you take 500mg or 1000mg of Metformin, the time-release effect will always outlast the immediate release effect in terms of longer pain relief (although some patients claim the immediate release formula to have a stronger effect, since it hits you all at once, per say). I too have taken 850 mg Zyd tabs dispensed from Walmart. My A1c went from 6.0 to 7.1 with no change in diet and exercise. They also have an odd taste. I just switched to 850 mg made by Sun dispensed from Medco/Express scripts and after 3 days my Glucose is now back to the 120's. For me I found Zyd ineffective. There are differences in the generics. If one brand doesn't work for you try another before you give up on Metformin altogether. ## You are correct, there can be differences and that does make them less effective for some people. You may want to double check in the future, when you get a refill, to make sure that you don't get the one from Zydus, again. Is there anything I can help with?

Have taken this brand for 2 years with no problems but last refill was told pharmacy can't get it anymore. Tried Teva and have stomach issues, anxiety and palpitations. Tried Solco and felt horrid. The situation is expected to resolve, but there's no way of knowing for sure when it will occur. Have you tried the name brand? I am a type II diabetic, and I use metformin since a year and have, there was a lack of glucophase, and my doctor told me that i can use the metform which has the same mollecul than glucophase, but i remark 3 month having leak of memory, i will take to me longer time to tell a name of some i know.
