From what I can find, Histatussin isn't available in the U.S. It contains Chlorpheniramine and Ephedrine, the latter of which can be very dangerous, so such formulations have been banned here. I suffer with high blood pressure and right now I have a bad cough and cold. Is it safe to take the cough medication Histatussin? ## Hello, Jim! How are you? If this formulation of Histatussin still contains Ephedrine, then no, it is not safe to take if you have high blood pressure. Have you consulted your doctor? They should be able to advise you in regards to something that would be safe for you to use.
