The SR stands for sustained release, meaning that it is a time released formulation of the medication, but the EC just means that it is enteric coated, to help prevent it doing damage to your stomach, but there is nothing that designates it as being time released. Want to know what is the effect of using ecosprin during last 3 months of pregnancy? ## whats the effect? ## The active ingredient in Ecosprin is Aspirin (ASA) and it should be abstained in the third trimester of pregnancy. According to the FDA it is not formally assigned a pregnancy category but it is most closely classified as falling into D, meaning that it is not safe. When my wife was pregnant her doctor said that the only pain killer she can take is Acetaminophen (the ingredient in Tylenol), or Acetaminophen with Codeine if absolutely necessary. Are there any side effects? ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Ecosprin (Aspirin) and Tazloc (Telmisartan). This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, so I still think it's imperative that you discuss this with your doctor first. However, I do tend to trust the research stemming from universities of this caliber. Also, if you are taking both meds together it would be particularly difficult to distinguish the origin of side effects that do occur as being attributed to either medication in and of itself vs a reaction that was caused by the two of them together.
