My grandson is getting married at the end of July and I need to lose 25 lbs. Are there any appetite suppressants that are safe to take? ## Lipozene is a dietary supplement advertised to help with weight loss. Both the wiki page and the official website state that the active ingredient is Glucomannan (considered a dietary fiber), which is extracted from the Konjac Root. Because it is not classified as a pharmaceutical drug, you can't really get a definite answer through a drug interaction checker. Their FAQ page says "Always consult a health care professional before using this or any other dietary supplements. Stomach discomfort could arise. There are no known side effects when taking Lipozene® or MetaboUP PLUS as directed." With that being said, if you are already prone...

Is anyone going through menopause and on warfarin? If so, what do you take and does it work? Many thanks ## I didn't find any interactions listed between Warfarin, and Black Cohosh, which helps many women with various perimenopause symptoms, including hot flashes. I've been taking it for mine for awhile, now, and it has really helped a lot, it also mostly eliminated my night sweats. While some places also suggest Soy Isoflavones as a helpful supplement, the FDA warns against taking it with Warfarin, since it can also cause increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising. What types of symptoms have you been experiencing?

Is Ergo 7 + contraindicated when taking Warfarin ? Thanks, Pat ## When it comes to comparing natural supplements with prescription drugs, there unfortunately doesn't appear to be any reliable source of information pertaining to possible safety concerns or interactions. After looking at the ingredients in Ergo 7, I have no reason to believe that there would be an interaction of any kind. However you may want to play it safe by starting with a small dose and just working your way up to see how you respond to the combination. I hope this helps. It definitely looks like a supplement that I would consider trying!

I have a lot of different illness and pain, I used to take tylonol ibuprofin etc, but started taking warfarin 5mg to thin blood and now they say i cannot take pain pills that also thin the blood. Q. what can I take for pain that will not interfere?? ## Hi Martha, From what I've read, Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen are two types of pain medications that do not thin the blood in and of themselves. So the OTC meds you were on prior to starting Warfarin are both fine in that regard. However, I would still recommend talking with your doctor first just to be on the safe side. I want to quit warfarin due to potential and actual bleeding . Had a two day nose bleed and still going. I was given warfarin because of afib. since then ( 9 months ) i have controlled my afib pretty well. I will see my doctor soon to get his input but wondering if I will experience any rebound or withdrawal effect ? I am also on lisinopril and Amdolopine will it affect these meds if and when I quit warfarin.. ## There can be a slight rebound if you suddenly stop taking any medication, including Warfarin, which is why it's very important to never stop taking something, without your doctor's approval and supervision. I have been using Warfarin since Dec.'06, due to blood clot in arm,my stomach started giving problems, then I was put on Altosec. Strange thing is that I have been experiencing pain in my heel. I am trying to find the cause of the pain. When I get up in the morning I can hardly walk, due to the pain in my heels.Could this be a side effect of the drugs? Anyone out there with the same experience? I cannot take the warfarin without the Altosec, as I said because of the problem in the stomach. I had a gastroscopy which showed gastritis, therefor I was put on the Altosec. I am really worried about this, doctors just prescribe and do not worry about the side-effects. I sleep very badly, wake up several times during the night with no feeling in my hands, like needles and pins. ## I have star...

However I haven't come across any other specific details on the topic, so unfortunately I don't know if this is referring to side effects or the medication's overall efficacy.
