I've been taking adderall on and off since 2009 for college. However I started noticing the bad come downs so my doctor switched me to vyvanse 50mg. That didn't work out too well. The dose turned out to be too high for me, causing me to be really anxious, over analyzing everything, and getting nothing done. I switched to 30mg vyvanse and I've been taking that on and off for a few years. Some days I think to myself, "thank god for this stuff". And then there are other days where I regret taking it- very weird. For example today I took one capsule for the first time in a few weeks. I felt great this morning, all my worries went away about starting this new job of mine, I felt focused and got things done. Then after the first two hours or so I got very anxious and on ed...

I've been taking street *not_prescribed* vyvanse 30 mg once daily *give or take, as some days, I'd wake up too late to take it* for about 8 weeks. At first I loved it, but now I'm not so sure. I'm experiencing extreme irritability, severe insomnia, nightmares, and some pretty debilitating panic attacks. I'm also concerned for my digestive system. I've dropped considerable weight...no thanks to normal bowels. Overall, I'm really starting to see the risk here and I think some encouragement from people that know where I am currently would really help. I've never been so productive and organized in my life. And things are finally starting to turn around for me and I'm petrified of losing that. Please help. ## Hi Mandi, Based on my research, what you are e...

Hi, I have a question to ask hoping someone here can answer it for me. I currently am prescribed Adderall 10 mg twice daily and it makes me feel terrible physically and also causing vision problems. I plan to report these side effects to my prescribing physician as soon as I can and I'm going to ask to switch my meds to Vyvanse. I would like to see if it is better for me as opposed to Adderall. If my doctor does switch me to Vyvanse, will I be allowed to fill the Vyvanse even though I recently had my Adderall filled or is it required a person has to wait a month for a 30 day supply? Is it considered the same med, the Adderall & Vyvanse? ## No, they are not considered the same medication, so you should be able to get it filled, as long as your doctor approves. The FDA lists its t...

I am prescribed Adderall by my PCP. I see a psychologist also. He prescribed Vyvnase to me. I have attempted to fill the prescription for Vyvanse and the pharmacist refused. Should I find another pharmacy? I do have health insurance. and can't afford to pay cash. I am having problems with my job, and can't afford to loose it. I certainly think that I need to at least the Vyvanse to get my ADD under control. I am in Macon, Ga. Thanks in advance for any assistance/advice. ## Hi holly, Sorry to hear about the trouble you had in getting your script filled; but it sounds like you may just need to check other pharmacies in your area. If you need additional assistance with covering the cost of your medication, I do know that MedsChat also offers a free drug discount card that can save ...

Hello, I am on adderall XR for adult ADHD and fatigue due to fibromyalgia and RSD and COmplex regional pain syndrome....how does it compare in strength for fatigue concentration compare to Vyvanse as Vyvanse is the prodrug of D-amphetimine& a single enantimoer vs mixed such as adderall? thank you very much for any feedback! ## Vyvanse is roughly 1/3 as strong as Adderall so 30-40mg is about equal 10mg Adderall. Vyvanse is perhaps gentler and smoother than Adderall. Best, David

Please READ this as I am going to try to explain my best of my experience with these medications. I want to start out saying that life is what you make it. There are millions of people out there with a chemical imbalance such as ADHD, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY etc. With that being said I have all three of them stated above. I went all through high school without being on any medications. I tried some depression pills but never stuck with them but I made it and graduated with a B-C average but I did it. I first was introduced to the drug ADDERALL from my best friend who I worked with at the time. He gave me a 10mg instant release Adderall pill. I was scared to take it because I didn't do drugs besides drink on occasion. So I was scared what it was going to do to me. Well since that day my ...

looking for a doctor that easily can prescribe adderall or vyvanse that can give appointment right away. ## Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a specialist to have such a medication prescribed and none of them are going to prescribe that easily and give same day appointments. These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia and anorexia. Do you have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, then the easiest thing to do would be to ask them to refer you to someone. ## I just moved to West Palm Beach, and I am looking for a doctor that will prescribe me 30mg mg adderall. I already had a prescription for 20mg in Pensacola, however, the way my life is right now...it s...

Vyvanse gave me my life back! I have nothing bad to say about it. I didn't feel I was depressed, etc......I just had no motivation because I was so tired all the time. I KNEW I was sleeping my life away and was not happy with that. It's been 3 yrs...and i feel vyvance is not working as well as it was. I'm sleeping again. I tried a generic of Adderall in the evening, until that no longer works. Today, the doc gave me fetzima to go with my vyvance. Haven't started it yet. Does anyone have feedback or any suggestions as to what to take to feel the way i did with the beginning of vyvance?? ## Hello, Sally! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're having. It is normal for a medication to stop working as well for someone, if they've been taking it for a lon...

I've been taking Adderall xr 15mg for three weeks. First couple of days I felt sleepy, groggy, third and fourth days i felt a surge of physical well-being, as well as focused , and a balanced state of mind. However, all that lasted another couple of days. After the first week of Adderall xr 15mg, i felt nothing. It's been three weeks now, and I still feel nothing. I am going to ask my doc to switch to Vyvanse. However, i know that 10mg of Axr is = to 30mg of Vyvanse. But if i'm taking 15 mg of Axr, how much Vyvanse should I take to equal the Axr dose? But, aside from that, do you all think I should stay on the Axr a bit longer? give it a little more time to work? i've read that sometimes it takes over a month to kick in. thanks! ## I am on vyvanse and wanting to switch t...

pot. changing ADD med./Adult ## I've been diagnosed with ADHD for several years now and and been on Adderall and Ritalin. I didn't think the Adderall was very effective so I switched but after a few months on the Ritalin I'm beginning to think it might be to intense for me. My friend is on Vyvanse and she says it's the best medication she's taken for ADHD, so I would just like to know your thoughts. ## Just to add some information or anyone else seeking… Any time you're trying to treat a medical condition, it can be a matter of trial and error to find a medication that works for the person, without causing unwanted problematic side effects. Some people get lucky with the first one they try, but there are others that may need to try several diffe...

I have Narcolepsy and have been taking various drugs (e.g. Adderall, Dexotrine, Vyvanse) for the condition for the past 8 years. I recently had stints inserted into two arteries (one was almost completely closed). My wife feels that I should not take any stimulant medications since being diagnosed with artery problems. She is also convenienced that stimulant drugs cause me to be quick to anger and also increase intensity of anger. Please advise. ## The PLUTO-Diabetes study revealed substantial differences in the platelet-related effects of 1-month treatment with clopidogrel and ASA combination versus ASA alone in diabetic patients. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can share their experience switching from Vyvanse 70mg once daily to Mydayis (50mg) and if it is a better medication as opposed to Vyvanse? Please respond if anyone out there has experienced this switch as I am considering it somewhat although, I have no major issues with Vyvanse. ## If Vyvanse is working for you, why switch? I am just curious. Mydays is most similar to Adderall, and is used to treat the same conditions, but overall it really depends on what works for you, and what is safest for you. Has your doctor suggest you make a change? The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, insomnia, mood changes, and weight loss. ## Hi, Verwon! My son has a very mild form of aspergers he does not have ADHD but has ADD. He is also on Zoloft 50mg as well as vyvanse 50mg. He has been on both of these meds for a little over a year and the only positive thing me and my husband has noticed is his concentration at school. The biggest thing we have noticed is agitation, tics like biting his nails and the skin beside his nails so short to where they bleed and just a VERY bad attitude. He is also very down on himself. I was reading the side effects of both the Zoloft and Vyvanse and both cause agitation and tics. Anyone have any suggestions on what other meds there is out there that we could talk to his doctor about? He has been on Ritalin and concerta and those did not help. The Zoloft is the first SSRI he has been on and I talked to th...

I have been on Vyvanse now for about a week and a half. I am only taking 30 mg and was diagnosed with Adult ADD. I am not sure if this is usual but I am feeling very sleepy. I see that a lot of people post that they can not sleep, well for me that is not the case. I feel like I am half awake through the morning and the afternoon. The medication seems to wear of in the late afternoon because I slowly start to feel more alert, my apatite comes back, and so does the symptoms of ADD. I have been getting headaches at night. When I am on the Vyvanse, I do feel calmer and able to deal with things better. It has helped with my anxiety which I believe was cause by being unorganized, late, and all over the place before. I like that about this medication but wonder if it's the wrong one for me...

Good Morning Everyone, I have been on Vyvanse 50 mg for about 7 months. Took it everyday. My company that I work for changed their insurance policy where I now have a 3,000 deductible before copays hit. Vyvanse became 294.00 a month. Couldn't afford it. My doctor (former doctor who never listened to me) tried to put me on Dexedrine twice a day as a suitable replacement. I am currently on Wellbutrin XL 150 mg for my depression and anxiety (and I hear that it helps with ADD) but I am on day 1 of my cold turkey stoppage and I feel like a truck hit me. I thought Vyvanse helped but it really hurt me too. I became irritable, wasn't sleeping, and experienced Amphetamine Induced Erectile Dysfunction. I have been having problems for a few weeks. Twice I was with my girlfriend and couldn...

I was taking brand name Adderall IR for about a year and found it to be very helpful. But since Teva/Barr/Duramed just changed the formula for brand name Adderall IR - and it's pretty awful - my pdoc switched me to Vyvanse. I'm wondering if maybe I should switch to Adderall XR instead (of Vyvanse)? Thanks for any and all replies. ## For anyone else that's looking for similar information, the best thing I can say is that it really depends on figuring out what works for you. Sometimes finding the right medication, once you've grown tolerant to one, or once something has changed about it, is just a matter of trial and error. Some people get lucky and the first thing they use works great for them and stays effective for years, but this doesn't happen for everyone. Thus, ...

my 8 year old has been prescribed Vyvanse in addition to his Risperdal. the first time he took a whole capsule was terrifying. He couldn't respond to us, couldn't sit up did not remember how to drink from a cup. I now split them in half and only gets one half per day. The dosage is 30 mg when whole. Does anyone have experience with this combo or just vyvanse alone??? ## Vyvanse can cause some stimulant related side effects, such as dizziness, and spaciness, or a high like feeling, especially when someone is new to taking it, so while it is a scary thing to see from your child, if he snapped out of it, without requiring medical intervention, then that's most likely what caused it. However, it never hurts to check with his doctor to be extra safe. The FDA lists the other typic...

I have taken opiates lately, and as an addict it is hard not to go for whatever you can get your hands on to make the withdrawals go away. I had a setback and took 150 mg vyvanse, and of course got the energy I was wanting, but now I can not get to sleep. When I lay down I am wide awake, which I'm assuming is from the vyvanse, but I can feel my withdrawal symptoms from the opiates. I have 10 mg of methadone to help me but I'm afraid to take it with the vyvanse. Can I take them together? Will it take away my withdrawal symptoms will either one cancel the other out? With the vyvanse feeling go away? ## I am taking 100mg of methadone and 70 MG of Vyvanse will taking the two together work like they are suppose to you get the relaxed feeling from the methadone but also be a little mo...
