how many mg of hydrocodone are in each teaspoon of Tussionex ext-rel sus medeva? ## Tussionex contains Chlorpheniramine and Hydrocodone. Is your dosage listed on the packaging? From the information I am finding, the regular, adult formulation contains 8mgs of Chlorpheniramine and 10mgs of Hydrocodone, per teaspoon. The Hydrocodone is a narcotic, so you may experience side effects such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. ## I thought tussionex had codine in it. Tussionex contains a combination of Chlorpheniramine + Hydrocodone. My personal assumption is that it lost a good percentage of its potency by now, having been over 2 years old. I have tussionex ext rel sus cell thats 6 years old. is it ok to take ? ## Hello, Fred! How are you? No, liquids have very short life spans, they tend to degrade very fast. Many even go rancid and could make you sick, so a 6 year old one isn't safe to take. If you need this medication, you should see your doctor for a new prescription. why can't this medicine be found today. It was the only thing that would stop my mom from coughing. She is 86 years old and coughs so violently that I am afraid it is going to kill her. Her Dr. has tried many things but to no avail nothing has worked. Her Dr. says that this medicine has been discontinued.
