My husband has pulmonary fibrotic Disease and this is the only cough syrup that works for him, however it has now been raised to double the cost; going from generic to brand name. ## Can't find Dr Who will prescribe only cerrytussin basically robitussin NO GOOD doesn't help one bit!!in OKC OK.

There is nothing available over the counter that is comparative, since one of the ingredients in this is Codeine, which the fad classifies as a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. It is only available by prescription. The Guaifenesin is available over the counter, but it likely won't work as well, without the Codeine. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My apologies! What is the dosage on the prescription? Tussionex also contains Hydrocodone with Chlorpheniramine, so it's likely close to what you've taken before. Can I take Duro-tuss Cough Liquid with Staphylex (flucloxacillin) 500mg that I'm using for a skin infection? ## Hello Wally, I hope you are having a wonderful day. According to DailyMed neither Staphylex or Flucloxacillin list each other or their active ingredients as having negative interactions, however, they do state that you should consult your doctor if you plan to take any additional medication. As a general rule of thumb it's better to be safe than sorry. I hope this information helps.

You just have to find a Vet that can fill that specific prescription. I have gone through several Vets to find the Tussigon cough medication for our dog. I finally found a great Vet that can fill the prescription in their office every 30 days. That's the easiest way to go. ## How many pills and what was the cost? I have taken TUSSIONEX several times when I've had bronchitis. It really breaks up the congestion and helps with the cough. I got a bottle today and the consistency is like Water. My resolved has always been a thick consistency and gritty. I was prescribed this today and saw on the internet that it had been discontinued. ## I was prescribed Chlo Tuss Liquid and found out on this site that it was discontinued some time ago. Why was it "discontinued"? Was it a danger to patients, and why? Why is Chlo Tuss Liquid still prescribed and filled if it is discontinued? I saw a doc on the box today and Walgreens will not prescribe my usually cough med tussinex my dr was booked until Tuesday. I have bronchitis double ear infection and sinitis. The gave me brofam but it is not numbing my throat or suppressing my cough long enough.
