I have a patch that is called Transdermal system and it says 25 mcg/hr, it also says each Transdermal system contains: 2.55 mg Fentanyl. I am a first time user on this medication, what effects will I experience? ## Well, this can have some adverse effects. I am not sure if you have previously used narcotics, I know this should not be used by anyone who has not already built up a narcotic tolerance as it is a very, very strong med. 80 times stronger than Morphine as a matter of fact. I was on Fentanyl patch for 2 yrs. Had many trips to ER for overdose or withdrawal symptoms with proper use. I think people should know.The doctors were always stumped at my symptoms. I had to do my own research on internet to diagnose the problem. ## Susan, did your doc figure out what the problem was? When I take hydrotherapy or just a nice hot tub soak, I take mine off to prevent excellerated discharge of the medication. I was first on Durgesic then switched to Fentanyl when it came out and have done very well on both. I am so very sorry you have gone through this. There must be some sort of answer.
