My doctor believes there will not be a problem using these 2 together; perhaps it just diminished ultram's effect only. Ok the dark red relatively large round tablet is coated with red, when split the inside is white. One side is scored the other imprinted with 225. Commonly Indian made, and the same look is also manufactured in Egypt.. Now my understanding, the high concentration as well as coating is supposed to make it time-release. I've been taking 50 to 100 mg Tramadol per day for 3 years. The prescription is for 200 mg per day. I noticed that wehn I go a day with 0 mg I feel a little edgy. Now I'm really worried becasue I had ankle surgery 14 days ago and I haven't taken the tramadol because I'm taking percocet. When the percocet wears off I feel very edgy, slightly nauseous, depressed and achey all over. Now I'm afraid that when I run out of percocet I'll be really sick from the tramadol withdrawal. I've been taking Tramadol (Ultram) for 4 months for an ankle injury. I only take it as needed, which is no more than 2x's a day. 3 weeks ago I started developing hives that would come and go. My skin would itch, increasing in severity at night. I couldn't stand it so I went to the minor care office (5 x's ! ) I was put on 3 rounds of Prednisone and the hives disappeared each time only to reappear when the Prednisone ended. The doctor did blood work and did a biopsy. The blood work came back fine, showing I had a drug allergy. After stopping all my meds and reintroducing them (one at a time) it became very clear it was the Tramadol! I took 200mg codeine in cough syrup and usual .5 mg of xanax at 830. 2 hours later I had a splitting headache and took 50mg of tramadol. Im kinda freaken out about this. ## From what I could gather, Tramadol (Ultram, Ultracet, Ryzolt) is not a "federally" controlled substance, at least yet. However, states may individually classify it as such. As of December 2008, Kentucky has classified tramadol as a controlled substance. Although it is likely that other states have already done so as well. I believe NY and Oklahoma are two others that recently made a controlled substance. It is very possible that tramadol will be reclassified as a controlled substance on the federal level, but I have yet to find any supporting information pertaining to Feb 27th 2013. Which medication is stronger Tramadol or Lortab? ## Lortab, it is actually a narcotic pain reliever containing Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. Tramadol is a generic for Ultram and it is a non-narcotic, it does work well for some people, but not great for severe pain suffers. My brother passed away two years ago from a Tramadol overdose. He had a 15mg of Tramadol per ltr. of blood. He weighed about 205 lbs and was about 6 feet tall. The reason for this is because it contains the active ingredient Tramadol. While Tramadol is listed as just a centrally active analgesic, this has changed several times and been under severe debate. When it was being investigate, the developers were trying to create a medication that would work like a narcotic, but not have the side effects and the addictive nature, however, what they achieved was actually the opposite.
