I am not a heart patient my doc says prevention is better than cure so fr safer side I am suggested to take one tab daily Tonact 10 mg at bedtime.. Please let me know should I start taking this med? ## Tonact contains the active ingredient Atorvastatin, which is usually used to help lower cholesterol. Have you had any test that show you have high cholesterol? These medications can cause some problematic side effects, like nausea, dizziness, headache and joint muscle aches. While your doctor is right, in a way, it isn't advisable to use drug for something, when they aren't needed. You can start now by using your diet and exercise to help lower and control your cholesterol levels, if they aren't high.

Is one capsule of Ecosprin AV 75 is a proper substitute for one tablet Ecosprin 75 and one tablet Tonact 10 (Generic name : Atorvastatin)? ## Atorvastatin is exactly what the AV in Ecosprin AV stands for, it combines both medications, the Aspirin and Atorvastatin into one. Are there any other comments or questions?

I am advised by the doctor to take Tonact 10 for high Cholesterol. Now I have been taking it almost for a year. I sometimes feel weak and loose control of nerves. Is this kind of side effect? Should I discontinue? why are the above medicines used? ## These are not available in the U.S. so I have no information on them, I am also adverse to doing anyone elses homework for them. To keep my cholesterol in check my cardiologist prescribed tonact 10 later reduced to 5.After 5 years of no side affects, I developed severe muscle and joint pains,and was popping pain killers and applying gels on effected areas. During a regular checkup, I complained to my doctor and he suggested stopping tonac for a fortnight which I did.Within 2 days the pains magically stopped. My mother used to take Ecosprin AV 150 and used to feel good. But suddenly doctor stopped prescribing Ecosprin Av 150 and when I asked him he told that he had replace it with Tonact 10 and now it is one month she is not feeling well and doctor suggested Angiography as there might be minor blockages.

I have been prescribed Tonact 10 for lowering cholesterol. This has lowered my cholesterol and now the lipid profile is within the prescribed limits. But this medicine seems to have side effect of pain in body particularly in neck, shoulders and arms. On discussions with friends I was informed to reduce the potency of the drug to 25mg and take it on alternate days. This has worked and my pain in above parts of the body has disappeared to a great extent. Even after reducing the potency of the medicine and having it on alternate day my lipid profile levels are with in normal limits. I feel well with reduced medicine. I was taking Tonact 20 and Ecosprin 150 separately. Tonact 20 costs about rs.200 for 15 tablets. I came across Ecosprin AV 150 containing both above ingredients in single capsule and costing just rs.20 for 10 tablets. This lowers the medicine bill to absolute low. But what is the catch? Does Ecosprin AV 150 have Atorvastatin that is of low quality and that is why they are selling it at such low price or is it genuine medicine at low price because of some other factors? if so, what are the factors? ## Do you have Insurance to help you? If so, the price difference maybe because you insurance company "prefers" you to take the "2 in 1" pill than taking them separately. In my country (i am a phamracist) we don´t have the "2 in 1".

I am 55 years old having problem of hyper acidity and allergy of Sulfur, recently I have done an angiography as I have face some problems of chest pain. As per the result 40% blockage was found and doctor has prescribe the medicine but Mono Isordil SR 30 did not work for me. Tonact ASP 75mg (Atorvastatin and Aspirin) capsules was prescribed by my doctor but nowadays it is not available in any market. Some chemists say production is stopped and some say due to price revision purposes it is not available. I wander from pillar to post but have been fruitless. How and from where can I get it? I have taken tonact10 almost a year after dinner . Now my doctor prescribed me TVS 10 atorvastatin tablets and asked not to take Tonact 10 anymore.
