I purchased a Ragdoll in May. She at first she was given a clean bill of health with the exception of herpes viral in the eyes. We tried three meds, all made her squint to the point where she couldn't open her eyes. Last week she had blood drawn so we could have her altered. They said she has nonregenerative low red blood cells. Does this mean she can't be spayed? They gave me liquid tinc to give to her 1/8 teaspoon twice a day to see if this will increase her red blood cells. If it works would it be permanent or something we'd have to give her forever? She eats well, has put on healthy weight and is very very active. She was born Feb. 8 of this year. It stymies the docs as to why a kitten this healthy would have nonregenerative red blood cells. Any answers?? Thanks sooo muc...

Can this pain med be Givin to dogs ? ## Hi Jack, Unfortunately I can't seem to find any specific details on a medication by the name of Torbutinic. Did you mean to say "Torbugesic" (butorphanol tartrate)? Torbugesic is widely recognized for veterinary use in treating pain, so I wonder if this could be what you're referring to... From what I've read, it's often used in dogs, as well as cats and horses. Hope this helps to answer your question! ## Torbutinic is when they mix a vitamin supplement with torbutol. The vitamin the use is Pet Tinic, with the torbutol name you get the name torbutinic. My dog has taken it. But the dosages would vary per dog.

Since starting topomax in February, I have been experiencing the tingling in my fingers almost constantly. I also tingle on my scalp and my face. And when I get hot it feels like the front of my neck gets really tight. Not quite the same tingly feeling, but similiar. I talked to the neuro about it and he said it wasn't a side effect if the topomax that it must be anxiety. Has anyone else experienced this? And if it's anxiety whh would it only happen when I'm hot and why did it start the same time as the other symptoms. ## Hello, Kimberly! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. I really can't explain why it's happening this way, but if it is due to anxiety, that could be caused by the Topamax, it has been known to cause anxiety, depressio...

Our cat started to limp on right front leg about 2 months ago. She is 11 years and is about 16 pounds. She limps worse after she jumps of the chair. The above medication was perscribed by the doc. What is it and is it safe? ## The active ingredient in this is Torbugesic, it is an opiod that is used to treat pain. Unfortunately, I am not very knowledgeable about veterinary medications, their uses and possible safety concerns. The only information I can find says that it can cause slight ataxia and sedation. It is a form of Butorphanol: Have you tried contacting the vet to ask questions?
