Some have advised to take the medicine but some are strictly saying not to take the medicine. ## Can anyone advise me of a company which manufactures Thyrox 25 or Thyrox 50? I am based in the UK. ## If a doctor you trust is saying to take it, then maybe allow them to write you a prescription. I was prescribed 50mg tablets of thyroxine to replace the 2x 25mg tablets I had been on. Stupidly I forgot and for 10 days have been taking 2x 50mg tablets. I realised this morning and haven't taken any today. Will this double dose cause any problems? Aside from my general health, I am undertaking ivf this week and I'm worried that this double dose will cause problems. Can anyone shed any light and put my mind at ease?

my tsh test report is 56.9 ulU/ml . iam pregnant of 4 months and taking 50mg thyroxin tablets .should i continue intake of tablet or is it harmful to my baby ## I am male of 63 years old I found my TSH 11.6 before 2 months my doctor advised Thyoroxine 25 mg tab for first 30 days then TSH remained 6.68 now i am taking the same tablet of 50 mg. Sir I want to know is it to be continued for many yers or may be discontinued. Thanks ## sarafeen, what has your doctor advised? Levothyroxine is a naturally occurring hormone in the body, so in these doses that usually just replace what your body is missing, it hasn't been known to cause harm to the baby. And Ram, it's really going to depend on how you respond to the current dosage of the medication. Have you talked to your doctor about it?...

Am being suffering from Hypothyroid and consuming T-25 tablet for the past 2 months but i don't find any changes personally added i found some strange feeling in my neck ## Not everyone experiences side effects from any given medication, some people don't experience any, at all, so that doesn't necessarily mean that there is a problem. Levothyroxine can cause weight changes and hair loss, which usually upsets some people that have to take it, so if you aren't having this problems, that is very fortunate. Has your doctor done blood tests to check your levels? Have they improved?

i have brought some thyroxine off the internet, they came from india, and they are like a funny shape and they have 25 printed on them, they are pure white.. how do i know if these are genuine pills? and do they make you lose weight? ## From a foreign source and with just that vague imprint, there is really no way to know for sure what you received. It could be anything. This is one of the hazards of ordering from foreign pharmacies that are not regulated by the U.S. FDA. In addition, Thyroxine is not considered safe to be used as a weight loss drug, it is actually only approved and intended to treat Thyroid conditions and since those levels have to be carefully monitored, the blood levels of your Thyroid hormones have to be checked on a regular basis. Have you tried speaking to your do...

Hi, I have been on 100mg of thyroxine for around 2yrs now after a total thyroidectomy. I have recently decided to get fit and have started jogging, the first week I felt great and really motivated, now I seem to have crashed and feel lethargic. Just wondering if anyone knows if starting exercising regularly could affect the amount of thyroxine I need?? Or is the exercise just catching up with me lol ## Hello, Angy! How are you? Yes, it could very well effect your levels of thyroid hormones requiring that your medication be adjusted. Exercise is well known to help our bodies work better and improve our hormonal balance. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hair loss and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Dextrothyroxine (trade name Choloxin) is a dextrorotary isomer of thyroxine.[1] It saw research as a cholesterol-lowering drug[2] but was pulled due to cardiac side-effects. It increases hepatic lipase which in turn improves utilization of triglycerides and decreases levels of lipoprotein(a) in serum.[3] See also Levothyroxine References .mw-parser-output .reflist{font-size:90%;margin-bottom:0.5em;list-style-type:decimal}.mw-parser-output ....
